Don't expect the American Disney Experience....
**This Park was purchased by the Disney Corporation in 2017, so renovations and rebranding are still underway.**
As an avid Disney Family, we were crazy excited to see this park. Sadly, the experience was not up to par for the Disney name.
The Good:
The rides have been updated and the park is really colorful. They have a dragon under Sleeping Beauty's Castle, and the Small World ride is the best of all the parks. Europeans love Nutella, so if you're a fan, you will be delighted to find that a majority of the sweet baked treats contain Nutella. You will also find many things that are familiar to Disney.
The Bad:
There is smoking everywhere. Even though there are designated smoking areas, people just smoke wherever they want, even while standing in line for a ride. Granted, the smoking areas are literally located at trash cans with ashtrays on top, which are everywhere. Snacks are limited. Don't expect the endless selection you find at the US parks; snacking is an American concept, although they are trying to integrate many different cultural habits into this park. There was a lot of trash on the ground during our visit. Hopefully this was a temporary issue. The park is extremely poorly lit away from Main Street. It was so dark in places people turned on the flashlights on their phones.
Overall, it was a lovely trip and we will go again in a few years, after Disney has really had a chance to make improvements. If you are from the US, keep in mind that many of the differences you will encounter are cultural and regional. Embrace them with an open mind (even the bad stuff) and you will have a wonderful time! read more
