It's a half day trip and there is lots of chance to feed the deer and moose. Make sure that you bring lots of carrot to feed the animals. The park also sell carrots in the park for $2 a pound. There are few different activities in the park. I join the wolves introduction and the wolves pack is there to see . Food is mainly fries or poutine. It took 40 mins to order and get the food. While staying in Montebello, we decided to visit Parc Omega, this reserve for assorted wild animals that enables you to drive through a car trail, where you can even feed select animals. It was a super time, even though not all the animals in the park come in close proximity to your vehicle. The park provides English and French FM radio narrations with interesting details accompanying you while advancing along the car trail. My family had been here 11 years before, but the last trip I made to a place like this was NJ's Jungle Habitat in my teens. They knew to bring along bags of carrots, since you can feed certain animals. (If you don't BYOC, i.e., "Bring Your Own Carrots," you can buy them there.) You're mostly limited to deer type animals and discouraged from feeding males, since it's mating season. That being said, the male deer seemed docile and everyone disregarded that instruction. (Of course, do so at your own risk!) With different habitats, there were wild boar, bears, white wolves, caribou, to name a few - but we didn't feed these. The park staff does keep those all well fed. An Alpine Ibex did approach our car, eager for carrots. We did bypass the petting zoo portion, due to adjacent parking lots being full. While I would have enjoyed looping around a 2nd time, the others were frustrated with the traffic and decided it was time. Even though we tried to avoid the peak times, it seemed that wasn't the case. Definitely, Parc Omega is a wonderful experience, more engaging than a zoo. We usually avoid touristy things but this caught our eye since it focused on native wildlife. It is a self drive experience. As soon as you enter the gate there are deer waiting for you You have the option to purchase carrots to feed them but we chose not too as it was a rental car and didn't want any scratches. It reminded me of the window washers in the streets if NY or a gang of homeless looking for a handout. As you drove through there were plenty of deer of all types. Some Elk, wild boar, Buffalo and rams. The bear, wolves, foxes and mountain goats were in enclosures. It's a very nice setup. Kids would love it, big kids too! read more

What an awesome, unique activity! Highly recommend for anyone passing through Montebello or staying nearby. While the high ratings of all the reviews may make it seem like an overrated tourist attraction, Parc Omega was something that actually lived up to the hype. At its core, it is essentially a car safari where you can observe different wild animals from inside your vehicle while driving along a 12km trail throughout a large park. However, one of the main perks is that, in addition to viewing the animals, you can roll down your windows and feed them as well, making for a super immersive and fun experience! We saw and fed a variety of deer and other animals - some very big and some very small! The animals seem quite accustomed to humans and will come up to your car to greet you, waiting for you to offer up a carrot. It sounds simple, but it was very cool to be able to interact so directly with the wildlife in more of a natural setting compared to a zoo or through a fence. There's a list of a few easy rules to follow that you're given at the beginning, and we felt safe the entire time. You can purchase bags of carrots - the only thing you are allowed to feed the animals - both at the visitor center at the entrance and at the gift shop about halfway through the park (if you find you were a little too generous with your carrot-giving in the first half). The latter is located in an area where you can stop and park for a bit, use the restroom, and buy some food, etc. Overall, Parc Omega is a great place for both kids and adults alike! People of all ages can find enjoyment and wonder here interacting with the animals. We spent almost 3 hours here, which was much longer than expected, and you could honestly spend a whole day if you really wanted to. This is amazing experience to drive through a 2000 hectare park with wild boar, rain deer running free. Feeding the rain deer and a beaver by hand with carrots was the highlight of this adventure. You will also have an opportunity to see bears, moose, coyotes, arctic foxes and wolves. There is a snack bar here with refreshments and burgers if you get hungry. Overall: A tourist friendly place to get up close and personal with some Canadian animals! Location: about an hour from ottawa Stay: we stayed overnight in the WeTents (yurts). We very interesting and intimate. Staying overnight has the advantages of feeding and learning about wolves and bears. Activities: the main activity is driving through the park and feeding the animals. This is great for kids but we also had a blast getting close to some furry friends. What an amazing experience to drive through this park and experience Canadian animals being right at your window! You can purchase a bag of carrots prior to entering the safari zone, where friendly deers will come up to your window looking for food. They were all very gentle and know exactly when and where you will feed them. There is also a section in the middle of the drive in safari to be right next to baby deers. Fun! Us two adults laughed our whole way through the park. We brought a huge bag of baby carrots, saltines, and celery. The animals hated the celery and some were even picky about the carrots , but they all wanted a saltine! I think the animals appreciated having more than just carrots. I wouldn't say you are feeding an extremely diverse crowd of animals, mostly deer-type animals big and small. It was nice to see the bears, foxes, wolves, and bison on display. It was about $75 for two adults. Worth it. About 1.5 hours from Montreal. Renting a cart requires a $500 deposit and $75 for actual rental. We passed up that deal and went with our car. We didn't get a single scratch on it. Just a bunch of animal drool and dust! You also can't bring the cart up a particular path which is limiting. You're better off taking your own car. read more

Such a wonderful place to go with friends and family. It is worth the drive from Ottawa and you can occasionally find Groupon savings. It's such a huge park that you drive through to feed the wild animals that roam around. You can choose to bring your own carrots or buy them there. Honestly, the prices are roughly the same there so it doesn't matter what you do unless you buy a huge bag from Costco (trust me, you can't have enough carrots to feed the animals because there are too many of them). You can also tune into their own radio station while you drive through. The food there is a little expensive and they serve the general food truck type foods like poutine an grilled cheese. I haven't been to a safari park in the winter. It was so fun with a good weather today. I brought 5lb carrots and fed all of them to animals. There is a wolf show on 1pm and 2pm (last about 20 mins). It was informative, and we liked it. You get to guess Alpha male. There are two small restaurants with simple meals like soup and grilled cheese. We ordered a soup and a hot chocolate. They warmed my heart. There is microwave in both restaurant, so people can bring their own food to get heated here. Some spots were so slippery, covered with ice. The little deer were reluctant to walk on the ice to get my carrots. The animals are so cute. We will come again for sure. read more

Park omega is so much fun for adults or kids! It's basically a safari and various animals come up to your car to say hello and you can feed them! We took our own carrots and celery and in retrospect we didn't take enough. The animals seem to like the carrots way better than the celery FYI. So bring lots of carrots. You can also buy carrots at the park entrance so it's not a problem if you don't bring your own! You drive through the different parts and in most area you're able to feed the animals and trust me they are not shy to poke their head right into your car so be careful! Of course the animals are super friendly and just want the carrots but if you're a super jumpy person make sure your windows are not too too down lol. In other parts where the animals are more dangerous (Wolves and bisons) they are of course blocked off so you can see them from your car pretty well but of course no feeding allowed. Be prepared to spend lots of time here specially if the car in front of you is having a lot of fun and spending lots of time at each stop they see animals. But it's totally worth it and I would go here anyway! Lots of laughs and great way to spend the day. There are a couple shacks here where you can get snacks and drinks. read more

I stayed at the Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello and the concierge suggested that my mother, grandmother, and I would enjoy the park. And we sure did! You can bring your own carrots or buy some at the store there for $2.50 CAD to feed the animals. Then you drive around in your car (or take a tour if you wish) and see lots of animals, most just roaming around, begging for carrots at your window. We saw deer, "raindeer," pigs, baby pigs, bears, buffaloes, and lots of other animals. It was really fun feeding them then trying to get your window up before that ate your face. He tells us to get out of vehicle n try n open gate.. it's raining my wife almost falls on the grill- which is extremely dangerous to walk on- animals fall through! I love this park I have been there a few times with my family and my friends. It is basically the same premise as African Lion Safari, but with no scary monkeys attacking your car. There is a driving path where you follow along in your car through the different regions, ie. forest, prairie, boreal etc. Each area has its own native fauna present. Currently they have goats, caribou, deer, fox, elk, bison, moose, coyotes, boars, Ibex, turkey, wolves, arctic fox, arctic wolves, musk ox and various bird species. You can purchase carrots to feed to the animals. They will come right up to your car so be aware and watch your children!!! Be prepared for lots of slobbery nose and muzzle prints on your car windows! haha! The bears, wolves and other predatory animals are not free roaming and do not appear along the driving path. They are located in their own separate enclosed pens. It is definitely worth checking out!! Educational and fun! :) read more

Visiting from california where ive seen many of these animals in the wild or in a zoo, it wasn't extraordinary but still fun to be able to hand fees the deers and see the boars, car sized caribou and moose approach the cars. We enjoyed seeing the bears, wolves and cubs up close on thr boardwalk and going to the old farm. You can buy 2lb bag of carrots at the gift shop and near the old farm. I just thought this place was a bit pricey during the summer at $28/adult especially when its raining out. Plan to spend 2-4 hours here. Go get lunch in doentown Montebello. read more

We drove all the way from Massachusetts to Parc Omega. We stayed one night in Montreal and head to Parc Omega at 8:30 AM to be there when it opens at 10:00 AM. First of all, fill in your gas tank. We have not seen any signs for gas during our trip. It's about 1 hour 20 mins each way. You car might get scratched by wild boars and ibex when they try to stand on their hind legs to get food. Unfortunately or fortunately, we were too excited to read instructions on the map and didn't hear well what the girl said at the entrance. We thought she said be careful feeding the buffalo and the deer with antlers. But we realized later (after reading instructions on our way back) that she said: don't feed the buffalo and the deer with antlers. So, we fed the buffalo and it was amazing and terrifying at the same time. When you want to start going and close windows, the huge buffalos get upset and ram your car mirrors. It was fun though. Little buffalos were fun to feed but then humongous buffalos surrounded the car and stuck their heads into the open windows unexpectedly (they came from behind and the windows were open fully to feed the little buffalos who were short) and year it was unbelievable but very scary. I wouldn't do that again! Someone in earlier posts said to bring celery so we brought a lot with us in addition to carrots and none of the animals were interested except for wild boar. Wild boar loved celery. The most overwhelming experience was the very entry where all the deer congregates and the buffalo. What was different about this park is that arctic foxes and wolfs actually all run towards you from all sides of their enclosures. Arctic foxes were adorable. They come right to the fence. We brought 8 bags of carrots and 3 bags of celery and we could have used another two bags of carrots. If you have kids and if you come at around 10 AM or 10:15 AM, I say get 8-10 bags of carrots. They are $2.50 each. If you run out half way, there are restrooms and a small shop that sells carrots at the top of the road (where the farm is during summer months). Re your car and scratches, these are two three offenders: 1. Wild boar that jumps with its hoofs on your car to stand on their hind legs. This does not happen often but once it does, your car will be scratched bad. Just don't stop to feed wild boar and you will be good. 2. Baby Ibex that constantly jump on your car if window is open in full or completely closed. Don't stop your car at the end of the trip in Ibex area. 3. Buffalo if you chose to feed them at your own risk. No scratches but watch out for your mirrors. Buffalo's head is wider than the back passenger windows of Toyota Highlander. Attaching some photos. We came Sunday after thanksgiving, it was not busy at all. Cafe inside the park is not very good so eat elsewhere unless you absolutely have to. I recommend you stop by at the main store on the right immediately following the main entrance, use the bathroom and get 8-10 bags of carrots before heading out. I also recommend you be there at 10 AM. Let some other car go first so you don't feel pressured. We have seen so many times cats stopping in the middle of before the wide metal barriers that animals cannot cross and trying to feed deer. Deer can't go over the barriers and just gathers in front of the car while trying hard to stretch their necks and get carrots from people. Please don't do that. Just make sure you drive over the barriers so deer can come on both sides of the car and feed comfortably. At one point, we went the wrong way. It happened after we left the top circle, the buffalo meadow area. Remember to go left and not right. Have fun! It was amazing. read more

Did all of the walking paths, fed trout, white tail deer and many more animals. It was mating season so we were not to feed males. I had a wonderful time taking pictures and feeding them carrots. I bought 5lbs of carrots at the grocery or you can purchase there at the information. We had a lovely picnic outside there as well. It was beautiful to be surrounded by kinda obese over-fed animals but out in the nature where everything is so natural and not too man-made. I'm so glad someone from the Cumberland Heritage Village Museum told me to take the kids here. I've always wanted to do a drive thru animal park where we can feed the animals. It was so cool to feed the deer and elk. We even stopped off at one of the places where we can get out and pet and feed the deer. This zoo was a fun time - you got to see plenty of animals with some absolutely gorgeous scenery. A visit in each season is definitely a must. If you are more apprehensive about the animals you can keep your windows closed, the animals can get pushy. If you're wanting a more exotic zoo with lions and giraffes and all those major draws this isn't the place for you. When in the area, you MUST make it a point to stop at Parc Omega! This was the very last stop on our trip to Mont Tremblant (we actually stopped on our way out after we checked out of our hotel). It was kind of a spontanteous stop, but we were so glad we did it. First, I definitely recommend getting there as soon as they open (10am). We were the first car to go through, and while I don't know how it is otherwise, I can tell you that we had an awesome experience. Because we were the first people there, there was no one else around us- we were able to completely take our time, enjoy our surroundings, and really appreciate the wildlife and scenery without feeling rushed or having anyone else around us. The animals were totally engaged in us and we got some awesome pictures! Just beware.. some of them do jump on your car to see in your windows! If you dont have your carrots ready when they approach, they'll stick their heads in your window looking for them, which is cool but also a little frightening lol :) There were a few times I had to roll up my window because there were 5 or 6 elk approaching and I wasn't trying to have them all in my lap, haha! We had a great time and it was completely worth the price of admission and hour "detour" to our trip home. read more

I absolutely recommend making it a point to come here at some point in your life, add it to your bucket list! Aside from being breath taking it is better than any car safari you will ever go to. The animals come right up to your car and you can feed them carrots that are available for purchase at the entrance. There is a part of the park where you can exit your car and take a stroll. There are plenty of deer that will run up to you to be hand fed. I highly recommend taking a stroll past the wolf pen, its something that I have never seen!
