    Looking for carrots
    Susan L.

We usually avoid touristy things but this caught our eye since it focused on native wildlife. It is a self drive experience. As soon as you enter the gate there are deer waiting for you You have the option to purchase carrots to feed them but we chose not too as it was a rental car and didn't want any scratches. It reminded me of the window washers in the streets if NY or a gang of homeless looking for a handout. As you drove through there were plenty of deer of all types. Some Elk, wild boar, Buffalo and rams. The bear, wolves, foxes and mountain goats were in enclosures. It's a very nice setup. Kids would love it, big kids too!

What an awesome, unique activity! Highly recommend for anyone passing through Montebello or staying nearby. While the high ratings of all the reviews may make it seem like an overrated tourist attraction, Parc Omega was something that actually lived up to the hype. At its core, it is essentially a car safari where you can observe different wild animals from inside your vehicle while driving along a 12km trail throughout a large park. However, one of the main perks is that, in addition to viewing the animals, you can roll down your windows and feed them as well, making for a super immersive and fun experience! We saw and fed a variety of deer and other animals - some very big and some very small! The animals seem quite accustomed to humans and will come up to your car to greet you, waiting for you to offer up a carrot. It sounds simple, but it was very cool to be able to interact so directly with the wildlife in more of a natural setting compared to a zoo or through a fence. There's a list of a few easy rules to follow that you're given at the beginning, and we felt safe the entire time. You can purchase bags of carrots - the only thing you are allowed to feed the animals - both at the visitor center at the entrance and at the gift shop about halfway through the park (if you find you were a little too generous with your carrot-giving in the first half). The latter is located in an area where you can stop and park for a bit, use the restroom, and buy some food, etc. Overall, Parc Omega is a great place for both kids and adults alike! People of all ages can find enjoyment and wonder here interacting with the animals. We spent almost 3 hours here, which was much longer than expected, and you could honestly spend a whole day if you really wanted to. Make sure to stock up on carrots and have your camera ready if you visit!

This is amazing experience to drive through a 2000 hectare park with wild boar, rain deer running free. Feeding the rain deer and a beaver by hand with carrots was the highlight of this adventure. You will also have an opportunity to see bears, moose, coyotes, arctic foxes and wolves. There is a snack bar here with refreshments and burgers if you get hungry. The is also a "old farm" area that families can walk through. We spent around 6 hours here seeing and feeding all the different animals.

We have been here many times before but thought during the lockdown what an excellent activity... kids in the car yet they are interacting with animals feeding them through the window and have it a blast! We were lucky it snowed the day before and the scenery was beautiful! In the times of Covid being in nature is one of the best things to do..we booked our time slot and tickets online.. didn't physically touch anything we have them the number at the gate and entered. Thanks parc omega for a lovely experience!

What a fantastic experience at Parc Omega today. Fed ALOTof Deer and Elk but saw so much more. Wolves, Bison, Moose, Boar, Bear, and goats! This is an amazing place and we can't recommend it enough. And please stop by and see Allison for your carrot purchase as soon as you enter. She was so sweet.

Overall: A tourist friendly place to get up close and personal with some Canadian animals! Location: about an hour from ottawa Stay: we stayed overnight in the WeTents (yurts). We very interesting and intimate. Staying overnight has the advantages of feeding and learning about wolves and bears. Activities: the main activity is driving through the park and feeding the animals. This is great for kids but we also had a blast getting close to some furry friends. The drive is go at your own pace and they have a radio channel that provides some content. Food & Drink: they have a cafe of sorts that has baked goods and coffee. Pro-tip: bring lots of carrots, you can feed the deer and some other animals and they love it!

Had such a blast at Parc Omega! Loved seeing all the wildlife and having the opportunity to feed them carrots. Be sure to bring a few bags, and break down the carrots to maximize the feeding! We spent a good five hours seeing all the animals, getting out of the car to explore and rest, and taking pictures. All the animals were super pleasant, but do be careful of the goats towards the end!

Such a wonderful place to go with friends and family. It is worth the drive from Ottawa and you can occasionally find Groupon savings. It's such a huge park that you drive through to feed the wild animals that roam around. You can choose to bring your own carrots or buy them there. Honestly, the prices are roughly the same there so it doesn't matter what you do unless you buy a huge bag from Costco (trust me, you can't have enough carrots to feed the animals because there are too many of them). You can also tune into their own radio station while you drive through. The food there is a little expensive and they serve the general food truck type foods like poutine an grilled cheese. I recommend bringing your own food if you want to save on money or have a family to feed. It was such a wonderful experience. I recommend it to everyone and kids will love it.

The bear is having a running nose. Lol

I haven't been to a safari park in the winter. It was so fun with a good weather today. I brought 5lb carrots and fed all of them to animals. There is a wolf show on 1pm and 2pm (last about 20 mins). It was informative, and we liked it. You get to guess Alpha male. There are two small restaurants with simple meals like soup and grilled cheese. We ordered a soup and a hot chocolate. They warmed my heart. There is microwave in both restaurant, so people can bring their own food to get heated here. Some spots were so slippery, covered with ice. The little deer were reluctant to walk on the ice to get my carrots. The animals are so cute. We will come again for sure.

Park omega is so much fun for adults or kids! It's basically a safari and various animals come up to your car to say hello and you can feed them! We took our own carrots and celery and in retrospect we didn't take enough. The animals seem to like the carrots way better than the celery FYI. So bring lots of carrots. You can also buy carrots at the park entrance so it's not a problem if you don't bring your own! You drive through the different parts and in most area you're able to feed the animals and trust me they are not shy to poke their head right into your car so be careful! Of course the animals are super friendly and just want the carrots but if you're a super jumpy person make sure your windows are not too too down lol. In other parts where the animals are more dangerous (Wolves and bisons) they are of course blocked off so you can see them from your car pretty well but of course no feeding allowed. Be prepared to spend lots of time here specially if the car in front of you is having a lot of fun and spending lots of time at each stop they see animals. But it's totally worth it and I would go here anyway! Lots of laughs and great way to spend the day. There are a couple shacks here where you can get snacks and drinks.

This place is incredible! We had such a blast feeding the animals from our car and while walking around. It is a must if you're in the area. It was a gorgeous day when we went and perfect for pictures. Reasonable amount to get in the park for the experience you will have. Make sure you bring cash for the Gift Shop! It's cash only. I would have bought so many more items, if I would have known that.

They have some really cool animals here!

Going to the park is a really fun and relaxing day, but I wish you could interact with the animals more. It is a great experience to see them up close and be able to feed them. There are also play structures for the younger ones, and ample space to have a picnic. Bring napkins and wipes, because the animals WILL drool all over your car window! :P

I think it's a great museum for kids, especially if they like animals or are interested in farming. There are lots of farm animals. They had horses, cows, goats, sheep, pigs, alpaca, turkeys, ducks, chicken, quails and rabbits. You can even pet some of them. They had some live demonstrations, which are amusing for kids. They have lots of exhibits, some of which are interactive. They had quizzes, and even video games like tractor driving simulators. There's a park with a play structure if kids need to burn off some energy. They have lots of picnic tables, some of which are covered. The only food sold on-site is from vending machines, so feel free to bring your own food. They do have an indoor area to eat by the vending machines if you don't want to eat outdoors. I like that they have lots of washroom throughout the site and also a few handwashing stations. They have water fountains where you can also refill your water bottles. They also have lots of hand sanitizer everywhere. They encourage you to sanitize your hands before and after touching the animals. I support good hand hygiene! Lol. There's lots of parking on-site. It's $3.75 an hour and the daily max is $9. (107)

I went with my toddler, who's two years old, and anyone over two pays the same price. I paid about $27 with tax for the both of us. They accept debit and credit. I found it expensive, but we had a good time and it's not a regular thing for us. If you'd like to go more often, they also have a Frequent Visitors Loyalty Program that includes 10 visits for the price of eight. You pay at the kiosk and then open the wooden gate to enter, but it swings back so it took me a couple of tries with the stroller before I did sort of a wheelie with it to use the front wheels to push the gate open. The farm has a park and play structures, play areas and photo ops, a tractor ride, a few picnic areas, little shop, and washrooms. They also have different farm animals, like goats you could feed, chickens, and sheep, as well as a pheasant, deers, and a couple of peacocks. There were definitely more animals, but my little guy was actually more into the park part so we didn't get to see all of the animals. There are also random statues of jungle animals that confused me, like zebras and giraffes, but my little one enjoyed the couple of statues of monkeys with hats at the front that you can sit on and take pictures with. One of the slides has one of those wooden suspension bridges and it's actually quite steep to get up, but has a big slide to go down that can fit both kids and adults. My guy did not wanna leave this one, especially after working so hard to climb up the bridge to get to the slide! Luckily, this is the kind of place where no one judges you for your children having tantrums and needing to leave kicking and screaming lol Definitely bringing actual food instead of snacks next time, and plan to spend more time here, maybe a few hours instead of one or two. Lots to see and do! I'd also love to try the tractor ride. It only runs every couple of hours but the first one was full and the next one went into nap time so we didn't get the chance to ride it.

Right when you walk onto the farm you're greeted by their gorgeous friendly dog Ava surrounded by a pond filled with chirpy ducks. You'll probably feel right at home here, as I did. For a reasonable fee, you can have a guided tour of the rabbits, goats, alpacas, and a free running miniature cow and miniature horses! Yes you can feed them! Some tips: 1) you must chop the food into bite sizes for the alpacas! 2) No cucumbers 3) No loose plastic bags. So, it's best to bring your food ready to feed the animals in a bag. Make sure you watch small children as the goats can be energetic when eating. Yes, you're in the enclosure with them right in the middle of the action! They also offer volunteer opportunities to the public a few times a year. I didn't find it too muddy but wear outdoor shoes just in case. Bring some hand wipes as I'm not sure if there's a hand washing station.
