I am a former vet tech and current people nurse. We've been taking our 6 dogs to Pardeeville Vet for 3 years, and have always had a very difficult time getting in touch with anyone there, even during business hours. I also don't feel like they listen well to my concerns, and have repeated labs that incurred additional charges, and given prescriptions for meds (ear cleaner) that they know I can't get into one dog's ears. I long considered getting a second opinion on my oldest dog who is 17 but has been very happy and healthy until this last year. I'd planned to transfer to another clinic that is easier to get in touch with, and requested copies of my pets' records over 2 months ago. At that time, I was told by the receptionist (Dr. Terry's wife, who is a wholly unpleasant person to deal with) that copies of charts cost $20 each, unless we have them sent directly to another clinic. I requested the records be sent over to my other clinic of choice at that time, and it was not done. Since then, the other clinic has requested my records multiple times on my behalf, to no avail. I finally have run out of patience, as my oldest dog now has an appointment at this other clinic tomorrow, and I was told (after 2 phone calls and an email) that I had to pay $20 and wait 7 to 10 days for his records to be sent. Additionally, I was told that I misunderstood the vet's wife 2 months ago, and that charts cost $20 regardless (I didn't, and my partner was given the same information at that time from the same person, independently of myself). I paid them their $20 so my new vet can compare labs on my old boy, and help make him more comfortable in what is likely to be the last few months of his life. Dr. Terry is a gentle and kind vet, but his wife should not be involved in the business at all, and I question their unsavory business practices. If you care about your pets, don't bring them here. All they seem to be after is money. They just got the last $20 I'll ever give them. read more

I was referred by a friend so I thought I would try it out. I drove 30min from the Madison area, it was totally worth the drive. Beautiful clinic setting! Separate rooms for cats and dogs. The staff were amazing! The Vet extremely compassionate and knowledgeable! Best part can't beat the rates, had all four of my cats seen with annual shots and complete exam for $215. This place is a hidden pet owners gem. Try it out you wont be disappointed. Side note- while I was waiting a man brought a dog in that was hit by a car,it was bloody and looked like it was in bad shape, I was extremely impressed how quickly they went to action and stabilized the dog. I'm from Chicago and while visiting family in Pardeeville, I had to find a local vet for my yorkshire terrior as she suddenly began to have some tracheal collapse issues. When I called to book my appointment, the lady was absolutely friendly and was able to get me an appointment the same day. The building itself was built in 2015-or-so and it is spacious and nicely decorated. I had to fill-out only a small amount of paperwork and then waited for less than five minutes before being brought into the room. Dr. Terry and his staff were wonderful to work with. To my surprise, they showed me the bill following the initial exam to obtain my approval for the additional work they wanted to do (a CBC) - I thought this was very nice as most vets do not show you the bill until you get to checkout. I am always hesitant to see new vets as some try to recommend unnecessary steps (e.g. I knew that her heart was fine and that an x-ray was unnecessary). I explained to Dr. Terry that I see my regular vet every-other-month and described what blood work was recently done - he was patient with me and I am very thankful that I found this wonderful vet. Pricing seemed very reasonable too. Note, while there, I learned that Dr. Terry had practiced in Madison for roughly 25-years before building this vet in Pardeeville! Bottom line: I highly recommend this vet. If this vet is a drive for you, it is worth it. read more

I cannot recommend this place, at all! I had a noon appt for my 15 year old Husky who has degenerative disc disease. At 12:15 an assitant came in and told me the doctor would be in shortly. I stated I hope so, we've already been waiting 15 minutes, and my dog is very uncomfortable because he cannot lay down on this hard floor with his degenerative disc disease. A half hour later, at 12:45, 45 minutes past our scheduled appointment time, still no sign of the doctor and even the assistant had not been back. I took my poor dog and I left. I have not been back and I will not go back. And, by the way, I could hear the doctor in the exam room next door yukking it up the whole 45 minutes we were waiting. No compassion for my dog whatsoever. read more

I have been going to Dr Terry for about 12 years with my dogs. I have always found him and his staff to be very helpful and caring. I had a german shepard that was having issues with his hips and Dr Terry was able to help keep him comfortable until the day I had to make the tough decision to let him go. On the day that I had to do it Dr Terry and his wife Kelly sat with us and helped us through the process of saying good bye to him. They allowed us to spend time with him before we started the process and then allowed us time alone with him to say good bye once he was gone. They made it easier on my husband and myself. I would never take my pets to anyone but Pardeeville Veterinary Hospital and will continue to go there with any new family members that might come into my life. read more

I have been taking my human with me to see Dr. Terry for over 10 years, and my brother has tagged along for over 9 years now, ever since we got him. Each, and every time, we see Dr. Terry, he and his staff are professional, knowledgeable, and very caring. His clinic in Pardeeville, WI. is an easy drive from Madison, where we first met him. Mom says it is well worth the trip! We've even had Dr. Terry see other extended family members (many humans connected to our mom have fur babies too!) and he treated them with the same compassionate nature we love! Never go to Pardeeville Veterinary Hospital. They do not care about your animal. About a month ago I had taken Tai there to get seen for a surgery that was much needed and I had talked to them about getting a consultation and they said that it would be free of charge for a second opinion and to give me an estimate so we set up an appointment at 2:30 and we weren't seeing for almost 2 hours after our appointment time. I almost thought they had forgotten about us I went up to the receptionist and asked how much longer was going to be in the lady said that there was a sick animal and that it shouldn't be more than 20 more minutes. So we waited and we saw people that came in after us with regular appointments being taken into rooms and being seen and then leaving after we were still waiting. So if there was a sick animal why were other people being seen so quickly and not us that's what I was thinking? But after a while we were taken into a room and we were seen by the ONLY person in the hospital that actually cared about my cat (the vet). I figured despite everything else I would be okay with this vet doing the much-needed surgery that Tai needs. After we had gotten our estimate we were in communication with the hospital for a couple of weeks figuring out how to finance it whether it was through scratchpay or CareCredit or through the hospital directly after not getting approved and then getting approved through Care Credit we had talked to the hospital I would say probably about at least 10 times over the phone and they knew me very well and the vet even said the leftover amount that we weren't approved for that I could pay them directly for overtime. Then I was talking with somebody on the phone and they said that they would call me back that day to schedule the appointment for Tai and I had never gotten a call back I tried to call back the day after and the day after that and the day after that I left messages too. I called again and had finally gotten through to somebody and they had told me and they asked who I was but they had no record of me or Tai or her surgery and that they had never spoken to me since the day that I went in for my appointment. When that is completely inaccurate. The lady had even said that I had walked out on paying that day that we went in. Which is not true at all because consultations are free and I had been reassured of that many many times before I was seen there and when I had showed up for my appointment. The lady that was talking to put me on hold for 15 minutes and just left me there and I just started a break down and cry because I feel like this vet hospital does not care at all about your animals well-being they don't answer the phone they don't call you back and they obviously didn't want to schedule my cat in for the life-saving surgery that she needs. I hung up. I couldn't take feeling not cared about when I live my cat so much. So after wasting a month of time on this vet hospital I now have to find somewhere else.
