So, I went to this office for an annual check up and for a follow up service about a week and a half after. Both times I was pleasantly surprised by the efficiency of the appointment and the professionalism of the staff. My first appointment was with Miwako, the Certified Nurse and Mid-wife. She was very patient in explaining everything and was very knowledgeable about all the relevant concerns that I had. The initial appointment lasted about 30-35 minutes. I left feeling confident and I received a follow up date within the following week. Upon booking my follow up appointment I was advised about the amount that would be due for the copayment when I returned. That was a major plus for me! I like being prepared. When I returned for my follow up visit I waited about 10-15 minutes prior to being seen. There were a few appointments ahead of me, but everyone seemed to be sent to their appropriate practitioners and it seemed like a well oiled machine. The only downside to the experience was being recommended for a procedure/ exam that I opted not to have. Other than that, I would recommend Miwako for the exam and the ultrasound services. The staff are caring and very good at being relatable to the people they serve and making the services accessible. Way to go!

I called first thing and was told they allow a 15 minute late period. I arrived exactly 15 minutes late only to be turned away from my appointment because I had reached the "15 minute mark." So technically, they don't give you a 15 minute grace period. It's actually 14 mins and 59 seconds. So if I arrived at 8:24 they would have seen me. Although, I'm not sure how much difference 1 minute would have made, especially when they routinely run late and don't have the courtesy to let patients know. And are we allowed to cancel because they run late? Nope! They clearly don't respect patients time. They also see patients every 10 minutes. Perhaps giving more time for appointments would prevent consistently running late. I'm not sure how doctors can provide the best care possible if they're given such a short amount of time. I'm sure it is set up like this to capitalize the most amount of money as possible. I would like to see their policy in writing, but couldn't find it online. Having worked in healthcare for 10+ years, I have never experienced this and have also shown grace to my patients who run late through no fault of their own if it is not a repeated offense. The receptionists are rude and don't care. I have gone to appointments to find them eating at the desk. And when you call to speak to someone it sounds like it's a call center and your not speaking to a person at the actual office, so you never know who you're talking to. The healthcare system sucks and the people who work here suck too and your "policy" is bullshit. If you've read this far, then do yourself a favor and find another office.

I am writing this review to make prospective patients aware of a policy within this OB/GYN practice…read morethat many women may not realize exists unless they are asking questions. I need to have uterine polyps removed, a relatively routine gynecologic procedure. Because the procedure requires anesthesia, I contacted the office before scheduling an appointment to confirm that I would have an all-female surgical team. As a woman who will be unconscious, unclothed, and unable to advocate for myself during the procedure, this is an issue that is extremely important to me. Frankly, I would have assumed that this was the case for all patients to ensure their safety, comfort and dignity. The office later called me back, and I spoke with someone named Jocelyn. I was informed, in what I perceived to be a rather dismissive and condescending manner, that they could not guarantee that male staff members would not be involved in my care. When I expressed my concerns, I was told, "Well, they are medical professionals," as though that somehow eliminates the risks associated with a woman being unconscious, unclothed, and unable to defend herself. What was particularly troubling was that she took it a step further and told me hat my request for an all-female surgical team constituted "gender discrimination." I disagree. Requesting that I feel safe and comfortable while under anesthesia is not discrimination; it is a personal healthcare decision. Cases involving misconduct toward sedated or anesthetized patients have been well documented (and imagine what goes unreported!!) and every patient has the right to consider those realities when making decisions about their care. According to our own government (source CDC.org) 46% of women have experienced some type of sexual violence towards them. One would think that given 1 out of 2 of their patients has likely experienced something like this they would be prepared to field questions about how they are keeping women safe, but instead, it appears they are trying to bully them into submission by telling women it is "gender discrimination" to want to feel safe while unconscious. It is disappointing that, in 2026, a medical practice would appear more focused on discouraging these concerns than on reassuring patients and explaining the safeguards in place to protect vulnerable individuals during procedures. Patients deserve transparency about who may be involved in their care and should be able to ask questions about their safety without being dismissed or made to feel unreasonable for doing so. The fact that someone is a "medical professional" does not eliminate the possibility of misconduct. Unfortunately, there have been documented cases across the country involving inappropriate behavior toward sedated or anesthetized patients. While one hopes these occurrences are rare, but they do occur, and every patient has the right to make informed decisions about who will have access to their body while they are unconscious. Either way, women should be demanding more from their "women's healthcare" providers. Thankfully, I did find a provider that makes sure women are safe in such conditions, but clearly this office does not care and patients should be informed.

Their communication between departments is awful, had us run around Manchester hospital in severe pain because the ER and family birthing center kept sending us back and forth, literally made us walk. Then comes the maternity/paternity leave they will not fill out the forms for more than 6 weeks so you can not get the full 12 weeks allowed by CT law. Management will not call you back either when you ask to speak to them. If I could award zero stars I would. Worst experience with supposed professionals I've ever experienced.

Don't ever go to Dr. Fishman. Scheduled an appointment to…read moreverify if I had a UTI. In the past few years they now want you to have an exam for a UTI. I refused. I am not paying for an exam for a UTI. Most doctors don't require an exam and Insurance Co. don't require one either. It's just more money in their pocket. So, i was scheduled with Dr. Stephen Fishman whom I had never gone to in the past 45 years of being a patient. He refused to tell me if I had a UTI (I knew that I had a UTI due to the fact that I took a home test that was positive). He stated that you can not determine if its a UTI until you get the lab results. This was new to me. He rolled the stool he was sitting on and proceeded to come close to me and proceeded to poke my lower abdomen with his fingers. I was shocked as to what he was doing and moved back quickly. Asked him what he was doing. He stated that he was trying to help me. (don't know how he was helping me by poking me) Then asked if it hurt. Note: I was standing in the room fully clothed holding my coat on my arm while he was trying to poke me. After that he then said he would order an antibiotic and left the room. I couldn't get out of the office fast enough. He lied, was very obnoxious, nasty and creepy. Never have I meet anyone as despicable as him. I assume his bizarre and inappropriate behavior was due to the fact that I refused to have an exam. I have been a patient of Woodland Women's Health for over 45 years. During these years I have never had any issues with any doctors or employees. Prior to this incident I would have given them a 5 star rating.
