My regular barber is on vacation for a couple of weeks, so I was looking for a new barber to try. Here are some thoughts: --My wife and daughters just came back from two weeks in France, so I thought "Yeah, let's try Paris 2000." -- I called ahead and made an appointment. I came in the other day wanting a perm and cut. First off they only accept cash (or Zelle), and there isn't an ATM within walking distance so I'm glad they accepted Zelle. Everyone was friendly, there is sometimes a little language barrier but they are patient and we were able to discuss. During the consult I showed two pictures. One being the cut I wanted (wolf cut on shoulder length hair) and the other being the kind of perm I wanted. They specifically noticed in the photo that I showed I wanted looser bigger waves, not extremely tight ringlets. This is my first time getting a perm and they reassured me it would be looser and wavy. However the sizes of rods they used were extremely tiny which I should've said something, but again I don't know much (but I do know those were not the rods for the look I wanted). By the time I got it washed out and was ready for the cut I noticed the curls were as tight as ones you would get from wrapping around a pencil. Unfortunately I am not the best at confrontation but it was clear that it was nothing like the picture. And for the difference in waves I'd have to wait at least 6 months for it to be close to what I wanted. I called after in tears because by the time I got home and saw what I got I basically had an Afro. I wish they offered a partial refund or something. I was charged $160 for the perm on hair shorter than shoulder length for a perm that should not have required as much rods as it did since they used extra small rods. And $35 for the cut which was fairly rushed and there was no feathering just blunt layered cuts. Overall the vibe is good. They are really sweet with their customers. But I wouldn't recommend here for a perm or any complex cuts. It felt more like a barbershop. read more

Price (understandably) went up after the Covid Lockdowns were lifted, but even at $20 before tip it's still cheaper than most other places anywhere in or around Chicago area. Javier is who I go to see, and he never disappoints. Takes his time, is precise, and always is smiling. Haven't seen anyone else, however every customer I've seen leaves looks and happy and fresh. Just came here for the first time and had a great experience with Monica. She really gave a great face and spent the time to do it right. The customer service was great. Monica spoke to me the whole time as she did her work , checking in to see if everything was good, and the finished product was great. I asked not to touch the top, no line, just a fade. was done as requested. You know how you never know what you're going to get with a barber or stylist they pretty much do as they see fit; well Monica listens and did great work. For sure I'll be back. As I was leaving the owner (?) checked me out and asked for my name and introduced himself. Feels good to go to a place that makes you feel more than just money coming in. Teenager is very busy so we cannot travel to his preferred place like we used to. We were at MingHin in Rolling Meadows for lunch and I googled "hair salon close to me". I found this place while Tracy and I were out to eat. One of the restaurant staff had a pretty cool haircut and I I had to ask where he goes, Paris 2000 was his answer. Where to begin? We will start with the prices. I've been to countless different establishments from ghetto barber shops to high end salons to get a cut ranging from $10 dollars to $60 dollars for a shorter hair style. If I like what I see when I leave then no matter the price, I'll be back. And with Paris 2000's price at a meager $13 dollars plus free razor eyebrow shaping I will keep going back until I move to a different time zone! I've been using the stylist Rogelio since I've been there and I'm always extremely happy with his work. I've also watched the rest of the Paris crew at work and one thing's for certain, you will get exactly what you ask for and they take their time until it's perfect. It seems like the more intricate of a certain style you ask for, the happier they are. The one downside is, and of course I'm Mexican but do not speak Spanish, not all the stylists speak very fluent English. Easy to get around though because they will keep asking you until they understand. You just have to be patient and explain to them exactly what you want. I have seen all races and ages in attendance here so trust me, you'll fit right in. I couldn't recommend this place enough for guys who want cool, in fashion haircuts no matter the length or style. When my friend asks me why I would drive 30 minutes to an hour from downtown (depending on traffic) to get a haircut, I can only reply, "I love that place." -Greg read more

I tried out 3 different male barbers and all of them do a great job with fades ,blow outs there ok with Mohawks but they all do a terrible job lining you up I will never go here again read more

Finding a good barber is a scary process. One never knows what to expect while you throw yourself into the role of test subject until you find the right place. When sitting in the chair I want to have a subject matter expert do their job while I sit and relax. In almost every other location I've had to tell the person cutting my hair - supposedly the expert - which attachment to use when ... 0, 2 etc. At this Paris 2000 location, I've seen nothing but professionals....all of whom needed no customer to tell them which tool to use. While waiting, I saw many kinds of haircuts and all where very well done. Beards, shaves, etc. all done with skill. I have been impressed finally ... it's been a long search. I recommend it highly. read more

I have been coming here for 3 years now. After my barber in Chicago moved to seattle I had to start looking. Lucky for me I found Paris 2000. This place is clean affordable and they provide you with quality service. I don't trust many people with my hair, my barber at Paris 2000 is Rogelio. And he is phenomenal with his work and cuts your hair exactly how you want it. Most of the staff only speak Spanish however they're some that are bilingua. read more

I've been going to Paris 2000 since Fernando and his brother Javier branched off from the shop in Arlington Height's years ago. The level of professionalism and skill set is second to none. I currently reside in Bolingbrook, IL and have no problem traveling the distance for a Quality hair cut. Waited over an hour and a half before I was told I'd be taken care of in a few minutes.... 10 mins later I look up only to see the stylist who was supposedly going to take care of me, styling her OWN hair. Completely unacceptable. read more
