Not having many opportunities in CT, I'll always be grabbing a tray and tongs to grab some pastries for breakfast, lunch or a snack. Usually I'll grab a hot dog roll or a soft sponge cake to enjoy a couple days after afterwards. With the self service, you aren't waiting to get your pastries though some are special requests and you'll need to get an associate. Waiting in line can be a little long as it is a popular spot, but the wait is always worth it as they are quick to get you on your way. I have enjoyed their pastries on many trips and being located in the mall with easy access to the parking garage and the main road, you can pick up some items for your walk around Flushing or bring some home to share with friends and family. read more

This review is for my experience on Thursday 12/16/2021. I ordered a holiday cake TWO WEEKS in advance and even called then 2 days to prior to make sure they had my order. An employee ensured me it will be ready when I come in 7:30 the morning of. I come in on the day and one of the guys tells me it's not ready and "if I can pick it up later"...... NO, people have work. I don't sit around all day waiting to pick up cake. Then he asked me if I want another cake???? I want a holiday cake, not a regular shmegular cake. And the girl next to him really said "you should order at least 2 days in advance" HELLO, I ordered 2 weeks in advance and that didn't help. Maybe PB workflow should be to check pick up orders 2 days in advance?? .... Their Japanese cheesecakes are SUPER cute and really good. They are tiny and more like a personal cake. Their birthday cakes are always consistent, no matter which location I am getting them from, and aesthetically beautiful. However, I would say this location has less cake options compared to the Bayside location, which is disappointing because there is SO much foot traffic at this location - you would expect them to want to impress. I typically enjoy the baked goods that Paris Baguette offers. I always get their turkey and avocado sandwich for lunch on the go. Service is typically good but today was exceptional. My son loves to eat a baguette with butter. And typically, when we visit a Paris Baguette, they always say they have no butter. To my surprise, when I asked for butter at the register, they said they could give me some. They went to the back and placed several cubes of butter in a cup for my son. I woke up at 7am on a Saturday Morning!! What in gods hellish earth would get my ass up so early? The smell of Foldgers in the morning?, an earthquake maybe?, the second coming of Noah's Ark perhaps? Nope!, reality is, not even a really young and springy booty call can get me up that early in the morning. I got up, maneuvered my limbs one-behind-the-other over to Paris Baguette, and I ate one of their croissants. Now if this were an ordinary croissant this review would end here... What happened was this... My hair erected up to attention, my stomach muscles relaxed, my taste buds woke up, and my tongue hit the gym, literally. I wasn't just eating a croissant at that point, I was enjoying it, partly ingesting, partly molesting... When I lifted my head up to catch my breadth I noticed stares!! They weren't friendly smiles either, people were covering up their children's eyes. Apparently, when I eat croissants, it appears as if I'm french-kissing a whore. Cute is not an understatement among Asians. It is crystal clear through Hello Kitty (no, she is not white/American--she's Japanese) and through the creativity of our food. The pastries and baked goods at Paris Baguette make me gush. No matter how outrageously expensive some of their baked goods are, I am completely sucked in by the luring of their fruity pastries; that is the only reason I keep coming back here. The apple pie is insanely delicious. It's mostly the sauce/jam with apples that keeps me going. If someone can figure out where to get it (or how to make it), I'll be done with this place. I also love the fruit pastry--creamy custard, topped with fresh fruit and powdered sugar on a danish-like bun..yum! I don't suggest the pineapple pastry, though. The whole thing is basically 98% custard/cream and there are only 2 small chunks of canned pineapples, which is really not worth it since all you're looking forward to are the pineapple chunks. The Royal Pudding is expensive, but worth it, especially since you can keep the cute little jar and take it home as a souvenir, toothbrush stand, pen holder, whatever. Staff is definitely not the nicest here. There are youngsters working here and you'd almost expect the younger generations to be polite--apparently not. They will be annoyed if you need some help and will ignore you, and the cashiers are either better or worse. There are ALWAYS long lines here. I love all things chocolate, and there's a wide selection of chocolate items, so that's probably one of the reasons why I can't stop coming here. One item in particular that I recommend is the chocolate bread. It's shaped like a braid and sandwiches a layer of chocolate. The chocolate taste is not faint, and resounds throughout. Each bite is chocolate goodness! There's also a pretty variety of cakes in the display upfront. Sort of pricey, but not as tasty as they once were when this location first opened. The cream is a tad heavier, compared to the cream in the past. Despite that, the cakes are very convenient for almost any occasion. Oh Chocolate Bread, you are my Krytonite! What I am saying is that I am not Superwoman. My mummy would stop at this chic bakery to buy me the chocolate bread when she got off the bus from work. The baked goods range from regular stuff like croissants and bread rolls to Asian stuff like green tea rolls with cream cheese filling (gimme more gimme more!). The pastries and bread rolls are less than $2 (oh yessss) and really moist and fresh! Their shaved ice is perfect for sharing. It's also surprisingly heavy; a stark contrast to Dominique Ansel's much lighter and airier dough. His use of yeast instead of baking powder, the likely culprit behind their much denser iteration, is probably what sets it apart. The fact that it was all shriveled up like a hockey puck didn't do it any favors either. I sometimes have a macaron madness descend on me and in a neighborhood surrounded by chinese bakeries this korean style bakery chain is a solid choice for my needs. They sell one of the biggest macarons I have seen. They come individually packaged in their own little bubble like the best kind of snow globe setting. This place is not Bouchon by any means but they do sell very light tasting and fresh pastries that never disappoint. The price is a bit higher but the quality makes up for it. You can always tell a good bakery by the smell and this place always has a buttery rich aroma when I come in here. I would have to say that my mother in law turned me onto this place a few years ago and I have been constantly coming here since. All of the pastries are nice and flaky and buttery. I especially like the fresh fruit pastries and the ones with sliced almonds. Lots of different croissants, cookies, tarts, cakes and puddings. I usually come here and buy a bunch of pastries to share. Use the tongs and trays located to the right side of the store to get your items. No one wants strange greasy fingers touching all the food.My friend is a fan of their royal pudding but although it is a bit expensive for the small size I actually like the creamy egginess that comes in a cute little glass container. You need to use a special tiny spoon to get to the goodness inside. They have a large selection and I sometimes am not sure what to get. they also have a small cheesecake or a mini chocolate cake that is like a personal pan pizza size like a 6inch cake or what I call hubby size because my man can usually eat one of these himself. I usually get fancy birthday cakes here. The blueberry and green tea cakes are delish with tall whipped peaks on their chiffon cakes. So good. Roll cakes are good too for sharing and easy to slice and serve. Every time I get the romance cake or the heart shaped cake I get brownie points with my mother in law it is very sweet and cute looking to celebrate that special occasion. The only thing I dislike is that the packaging is very difficult to handle if you buy a lot and you will have to carry it two handed since their plastic bags are shaped awkwardly and cannot fit their pastry boxes. The only way you get a special box is if you buy a cake. Recently they started selling patbingsoo which is korean shaved ice with toppings and they sell a bunch of drinks for the caffe-holic in you. It is located in the Queens Crossing Mall so finding a seat is never difficult since they have seating in the outdoor plaza as well as in the adjoining mini food court. I also like the layout and it is easy to look at all of the different baked items and goods. I actually think this bakery is the best thing that Queens Crossing has going for it besides the new buffet place. I have never had a problem with service but there's a ton of young kids that work here so I don't really expect much. It can get pretty crowded on certain days especially weekends which pretty much tells you how good their stuff is. Come here if you like fresh pastries. Their regular pastries are hit and miss. Their cakes are pretty good and little more pricey for Queens but they use good quality ingredients. They do an average job keeping the place clean. Expect a lot of traffic through the day. They have a couple of plugs in the back if you plan to be there to fiddle with your laptop. 3.5 stars. There's just so much to choose from not just in this location, but in Paris Baguette in general. At this location, I used to get their bread for breakfast especially the one with the hot dogs, just couldn't stop getting it I swear it's addicting. There coffee is just alright, their signature has a sour after taste to it not my type of coffee. But their cup design is cute, with the two eyes. They used to have a blue and white cup holder and a blue cap so it looked like clothes on a cup. I've always get their sandwiches when I don't bring lunch. I've tried them all and I absolutely love the chipotle chicken sandwich with avocado and this amazing chipotle sauce. I like their pudding that comes in a cute little jar, i prefer their mango flavor over the original but I love them both. A little pricey but once in awhile doesn't hurt. Their macaroons are not bad either, not too sweet. At this location, there's always a long line during lunch time and at night time. Morning is not as bad but the tables are filled with mid aged and older Asians chilling with their coffee and reading their newspapers. So there isn't really a spot to sit in the morning especially when they don't open the back early. Most of the staff are friendly and nice. My friend pulled me into the bakery after debating for 30 sec, and the moment I tried their bakery goods, I understood why she hesitated before going inside. It's so delicious that you get addicted to it! I had the mocha cream bread, mocha castella, blueberry puff pastry and raspberry puff pastry. I'm a non-coffee drinker and always hated the taste of mocha. Until I tried the mocha cream bread and the mocha castella. The cream between slices of bread was light and fluffy, with just the right amount of mocha taste. The texture of the bread conjures up images of dining on high quality bread in five-star hotels. I didn't really get why there are raisins in it, but my friend liked it with raisins... As for castella, they really do make the best! It's moist and are filled with delicious mocha flavors. It feels like you're drinking mocha in the form of a castella. I thought the bread was my favourite, but now it has been ousted by the castella. A small castella sells for $2-3, big is around $4.50. The puff pastries are ~$2 and they're more like croissants than puffs. Good thing I love croissants :) The fruity fillling is also fresh and has a well-balanced flavor. Sometimes the fillings are overly sweet, but not paris baguette's. Also note the cakes are apparently really good. When Paris Baguette first opened last year at the Queens Crossing complex, I broke my Fay Da/Taipan Bakery trend and bought a cake there to celebrate my 18th birthday. It was, to put it simply, heavenly. It was a yogurt-based raspberry sponge cake, which sounds nasty, but tasted otherwise. The yogurty-flavor is actually more akin to PInkberry/Red Mango's flavor, with that tangy taste. My mouth still waters when I think about it. Ever since then I have not been disappointed with their cakes. Same for their coffee, and I usually avoid coffee, so that says something. Their pastries and premade sandwiches never fail, unless you get them late at night, but that's understandable. When summertime comes, check out their patbingsoo. The shaved ice, coupled with milk, some red beans, and LOTS of fruit, is my idea of this refreshing dessert. For those who prefer the old-style version, there are other Korean bakeries that do the job. Slight con: a bit overpriced. But the quality of the food and the service supersedes the pricey-ness, giving it the worth. I could buy a Fay Da cake for $25, but with Paris Baguette, the $35 cake is worth the aesthetics of both the eye and the palate. I have converted. Also, better to eat their products when you get home or on the go; sitting down can be a bit hectic and noisy.
