Came for lunch with a friend. We both ordered the striploin salad. They bring the salad to you as we sat downstairs. They cooked the steak medium rare decently. We had to ask for salt and pepper as the steak was a bit bland. The salad was deco overall. Service was ok for a fast food restaurant. There were lots of seats inside.

Steak and frites is a staple of French food, so naming a steak place by the name of Paris is quite appropriate. The concept of this place however is a bit confusing. On one hand you see a fridge full of different cuts of dry aged steak. On the other hand you have a fast food type kiosk staring right at you once you enter the restaurant. The decor is definitely a lot nicer than a typical fast food place. Place settings included gold colour cutlery, but yet they sat on a generic fast food style napkin. I paid at the counter for my ribeye steak and then they told us there are more seats downstairs. I didn't realize that aside from the two bar tables near the entrance, there are extra seating in the basement (maybe the cashier understood that bar stools and a grade schooler is just not a good match). Eventually, they brought the steak over and for $28, I definitely think we got value. You can tell the steak was dry aged due to its tenderness and the meat had good beef flavour. They went a bit overboard with the sodium. And I think I just chose the wrong sauce- the bearnaise wasn't a good match or maybe it's just not my cup of tea. I should have gone with my gut and went with the peppercorn. It was a solid steak, but nothing blew me away. I forgot to mention the duck fat fries were solid, but just a bit oily. After the meal, I'm still scratching my head about the concept. And the table next to us got water, but we didn't. For a value steak, this is the place to be.

I can't say Paris Steak was on my radar, but when I heard about a new joint that specializes in steak sandwiches, I knew I'd be there sooner or later. We tried a couple of their sandwiches, the ribeye and the striploin ("Your choice of steak, seasoned and grilled medium rare, served on a buttered ciabatta bun with arugula salad and house-made chimichurri"). They're both amazing. I couldn't really tell the difference between the two, but what I do know is that the steak was amazingly tender. Like melt-in-your-mouth tender. And when combined with the chimichurri and the fresh bread, it resulted in a seriously delicious sandwich. (I will admit that chimichurri was perhaps a little too pronounced, as I couldn't really taste the steak.) We also shared the Duck Fat Fries ("Fresh-cut fries tossed in duck fat and finished with parmesan crumble") and they were incredible. I might even go so far as to say among the best fries I've ever eaten, which is about as high a compliment as I can offer. Yeah, Paris Steak's got the goods.

Great steak sandwich place! 30-day aged steak did not disappoint. So tender you can bite off every bite of the sandwich. Pet peeve of mine. Ive had steak sandwiches where my first bite took the entire steak out lol Duc fat fries were delicious as well. Prices are very reasonable.

There are benches outside and counters where you can stand and eat, giving it a casual, quick-stop kind of vibe. It's also part market, so you can browse a selection of goodies while you're there. I tried the Antico Parma sandwich and it was delicious--definitely a spot I'd go out of my way for again. Highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area.

I got 3 sandwiches for me and my family (4 people including me). What we ordered: Mona Lisa: 8/10 For both of the sandwiches the bread was very fresh and delicious! They make them fresh for each order and you can taste the quality. The flavours in the Mona Lisa worked really well together, I loved the truffle cream and burrata. Torino: 7/10 This sandwich was also good, but the I felt like it was lacking something, especially compared to the mona lisa. The spicy eggplant just tasted like plain pickled eggplant and wasn't that spicy. I feel like both sandwiches were a bit salty due to the prosciutto, and were missing some sweet or acidic element. I added some balsamic glaze and hot honey at home which was great! The portion sizes are HUGE, the 4 of us were quite full after splitting the 3.

And it pains me to write this review about the bad quality of their entrees. I've been to Naomi twice. The first time I bought the Salmon bibimbap and the second time I bought the Chicken teriyaki. The pictures looked really really good so I opted for them, but both dishes were disgusting. I was really thrown off by how quickly they were able to prepare both dishes. Under 5 minutes?!?! It seemed almost too good to be true. When I opened the container and took the first bite of the meat, I fully understood why. Naomi uses canned meats. For some people, this is okay, but I really could not stand how "plastic" the chicken felt. The meats weren't even seasoned, rather covered in mediocre sauces. The teriyaki sauce wasn't even teriyaki sauce... it was a transluscent orange with a syrupy consistency. The bibimbap was also poorly done. There was no sunny side up egg, and the only veggies consisted of bland bean sprouts, overcooked carrots, and boiled spinach. Although, the "gochujang" sauce was not bad. However, my friends have all claimed that Naomi's sandwiches are extremely tasty, but after my two bad experiences, I'm probably not going to come back. TLDR: don't get any entrees. Stick with the cafe classics.

But when Toronto…read moreLife hosted a special TL Insider dinner ($225 per person, inclusive of taxes and gratuities), curiosity won out. The prices listed below reflect the regular menu, though portions at the event were likely smaller than standard service. The evening began with a beef skewer ($31), featuring cubes of barbecued beef glazed in teriyaki and topped with plenty of chives. Unfortunately, consistency was an issue. Other guests raved about how tender theirs were, while mine arrived overcooked. It wasn't inedible, but it certainly wasn't tender. One of the restaurant's newer additions is its aged fish program, so I was eager to try the dry-aged salmon ($33). Listed as a "crudo," I expected delicate slices in a citrusy sauce, but it arrived as another skewer. The texture was undeniably smooth, with the dry aging removing any chewiness, but the salmon also developed a gaminess that lingered unpleasantly. A marinade or thinner slicing might help balance things out. I'm glad their signature Caesar salad ($24) remains excellent. It's beautifully balanced with acidity, savouriness, and thoughtful touches like buttery breadcrumbs and bacon bits that aren't rock hard. It's still one of the better Caesars in the city, though tableside preparation now costs an additional $10. Fans of tartare will likely appreciate the beef tartare ($41), which is prepared traditionally with minimally dressed hand-cut beef. Personally, I wanted more contrast in texture or flavour, though tartare has never been my go-to dish. I did appreciate the accompaniments of buttery crostini and gem lettuce leaves, which offered a lighter way to enjoy it. And for fans like me, don't worry their cheese bread puffs still make an appearance (along with their take home chocolate muffins). What continues to shine at Jacobs is the steak itself. The 40-day dry aged striploin was cooked beautifully, developing a crust that locked in the juices while maintaining tenderness despite being a leaner cut. The seasoning is more restrained, which allowed the volcanic sea salt and chimichurri on the side to actually enhance the beef rather than overwhelm it. The pecorino broccolini ($22) had me almost finishing off the plate and is such a nice accompaniment with the rich beef. The only disappointment was the duck fat fries ($21), which arrived lukewarm and slightly stale, likely a casualty of serving a packed dining room. Dessert ended the evening on a high note. The crème brulee ($21) was fantastic with visible vanilla bean specks throughout the silky custard. The sugar topping was thin and delicate, avoiding that overly sweet crunch some versions suffer from. Served alongside a sizeable chocolate biscotti and a fragrant orange shortbread cookie, it's easily large enough to share. With the expanded dining room, the front-of-house team has clearly grown as well. The staff is younger and fresher-faced, so any old-school steakhouse stuffiness has largely disappeared. More importantly, the service remains polished and attentive, and we were well taken care of throughout the evening.
