Honestly this was the most stressful year of my life. My son only attended for one semester. My son…read morehas a learning disability. The school psychologist and the DOE reps assured me he would continue getting his services at this school and then some to make sure he has support. I was infuriated when into Christmas break i was told me son never got his treatment. I had his IEP meeting at the school before i even enrolled him (May 2019). Even after asking his teacher Ms. Fuller about his therapy schedule vs. regular class schedule back in Sep. 2019, she assured me he was getting his treatment. All lies. Then his class teacher Ms. Phillips didn't give me the warm and fuzzy feeling. I asked her on day one what will the day look like? I wanted to be able to ask my son after school to further help him in his communication skills. All she could say was she doesn't know; she wants to hide in the bathroom all day since there is no plan. I was floored, first child - first school day and all summer long no planning?? I didn't even get a supply list till a month in. Last thing to turn me off from the school was the principle. Ms. Soussoudis does not want to better the school. That's the vibe she gave me. I signed up as part of the PTA. Not only was this organization in the school taken as a joke there was no system in place for anything. But that didn't discourage me. After months of having a PTA again the other moms and i had a plethora of ideas. When we finally got a chance to sit down and discuss it, the principle said to our faces "i Love the idea. I'm sure both the school and facility would love it as well. However, i have a lot on my plate. So what ever it is you have planned. If it works do it but i want no part of it". The other moms and i looked at each other and once we got back to our office. And sadly that was the last day for us. We have jobs, families and other responsibilities that trump any PTA duty. Yet we wanted to do it and make things fun for the kids. I wanted to be the involved mom so my son can succeed. But if the principle doesn't care why should we? That day i decided i will no longer give the school a chance. Also having a gym with no working water fountains, class ratios of 44-58 students to 1 teacher is a major liability. The gym teacher herself told me this and showed me the classes. Not to mention isnt Lorraine Hansberry a well known writer? And the school doesn't do anything/much for black history month. This was disappointing. Also someone needs to help Ms. Bolla with some courtesy training. Her way of speaking is demeaning and she's not fully capable of listening for some reason. I don't know if she's set in her ways at her age but it's not appropriate. Sadly i wouldn't recommend this school to an enemy. Each child's future should be taken more seriously than how this school handles things.

They are honest and that's what I want as teachers for my child, if my child needs help in a specific area they make sure they let you know so you can work with your child to speed up the process of exceeding in those specific areas....I'm a stay at home mom who rarely left my son, so his first year there was his first time really "away" from me, they took care of him being upset and within 2 weeks he LOVED going there. He comes home with projects and learns something new everyday! I could honestly go on and on how this place is great but one of the main reason I LOVE this place, is their way of not only teaching my child "text book" preschool subjects, they also teach my child "old school" respect and manors which I find more important, my son new the pledge of allegiance sighing the first 3 weeks.....they also make every holiday super exciting for the kids! I don't trust anyone with my children but I have 100% trust that they have my child's safety and best interest at heart! I see the way my son LOVES them as if they were family. These reviews about people saying anything about "honesty" obviously have problems maybe hearing something they don't want to hear, or having problems stepping up to the plate! children in k1 are required to sit in a chair with a mask for 8 hours and if the child moves or is…read moreuncomfortable the horrible teacher calls the parents and claims the student had a problem and will be put in a special edcation class and should be seen by a mental health doctor.this teacher has been harassing this child since day one of school,calling the parents and sending letters home saying their child has a problem. the child in question was taken to a family doctor today and was advised on what this rotten teacher said about this 5 year old.the doctor said the child is a normal 5 year old with no medical issues and should not be restricted in a seat for 8 hours straight and wearing a mask as well.children at this age has a lot of enegry and if this rotten teacher cant deal with it maybe its time she resigned or wait to be brought up on charges which the parents of this child will do.the child told the doctor this teacher make her nervous and uncomfortable and makes her stand up against a wall for 8 hours as punishment. My granddaughter Kayla was in the play Alladin Jr. The kids did an amazing job. The kid that played…read morethe genie on Friday night was awesome he really nailed it. Of course Kayla was amazing (she belongs to me so grandma's girl was good, but really she nailed it.) They were extremely animated like they're supposed to be. Kudos to the drama teacher! For pulling the best out of these kids year after year at the middle school. I pray he doesn't leave because it's hard to find quality educators these days.
