This one is a mixed bag. There was nobody at the desk on arrival or departure- but when we phoned…read moreon arrival, someone came right away & we were checked in quickly to room 122 by a nice gent. For departure, I left the keys in the basket marked "leave keys here" - seemed logical. There is mention of a renovation & I'm going to say it was a soft remodel. We appreciated the updated decor. I love it when the room look suits the area. It was rather odd tho. On entry you were at the sink, as in the door would hit you. The chain on the door was completely gone & since I do like to use the extra lock (whatever one it happens to be) I like for it to actually be there. Next was the open closet area with hangers and luggage stand, pretty standard. We had 2 beds, because it's what was available with the late booking. The room with the toilet and tub/shower combo was a tight squeeze, especially since the door opened in & hit the floor, preventing it from fully opening. It was, as the hubs put it, and "back in to use" situation. Otherwise, the room was clean and well-decorated. We didn't go to breakfast. It is 6-9am all days, per the sign & we decided to just hit the road. Was I blown away by this property? No. Overall, would I stay there again? Absolutely... it was a decent value, (especially if you compare it to Cody!) clean & the beds were comfortable- the rest I can certainly work around... just use that back up beeper & all... "beep beep beep" to the toilet.

Front desk couldn't understand why I was upset at more than double the rate for 1extra night. Place is dirty and cheap. Keep going down the road and find something else.

Locally owned with creative touches! Can't miss this one!…read more From the outside, it looks like an unassuming little motel... but once you step through the doors, a magical experience awaits. Transformed by Bobby's special touches, the place just makes you feel right at home. From the cute little check in desk filled with adorable crafts, personally made shirts, mugs, and well stocked breakfast corner, to the soft bed linens, even the two different types of pillow (one hard for leaning against and once soft for sleeping)... everything seems to have been thoughtfully placed. Even the free coffee and pastries we delicious!!! Then there's the cute garden in front with fresh herbs and tomatoes and fire pit and gazebo... it was all too cute! Best of all was spending the time talking to Bobby and her staff. They were super friendly and helpful. We can't wait to come back! The location is great! Awesome Bighorn park only 15 mins away.

Horseshoe Bend Motel is a nice, non-chain place that has the quirky charm of an old school hotel…read morecommon in small communities. The front desk staff is small town friendly. It's well-maintained, has modern conveniences: a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, smart tv, and wi-fi that works well. There was an old fashioned looking radio to keep with the theme, but it also had blue tooth for a nod to the modern. The bed is comfortable but the pillows were a little weird: two were standard soft and two were heavy and filled with something that made them good for sitting up in bed but not for sleeping. Maybe that was the point because this room did not have a chair. The bathroom was separated from the room by a barn door that saved space although the bathroom was roomy enough. Horseshoe also provided a separate set of towels in all sizes for cleaning shoes, wiping off mud, or dealing with general messes. This was much better than those small disposable squares. There's only real keys for entry into rooms, with a big metal key chain attached, so it's unlikely to get lost. It's a nice break from the plastic cards used in modern hotels, but doesn't fit into the pocket as easily. Numbered parking for the room is right outside your door, sort of, but I'm not sure anyone was paying attention to matching room number with parking spot but you'll be reasonably close.
