Stopped for the night before venturing into Yellowstone. Desk attendant was polite and quick to get me settled and accommodated my request for a first floor unit overlooking the main lot. Room was comfortable and had log style furniture. TV reception was good. The free WiFi was strong enough to stream. Bathroom was clean. Micro, fridge and coffee pot all in the room too. Fresh coffee available in the lobby 24-7 (or, so it seems). I deducted one star for their advertised "gym". That consisted of some dumb bells, a recumbent bike and a simple treadmill. This treadmill is not (in my opinion) for commercial usage - the track kept slipping and nearly caused me to lose my balance and twist my knee. This was a GREAT decision to stay here. While visiting Yellowstone we chose this hotel to lay our heads. There is a ton of hotels here in Cody to choose from, many franchise type, but this one has a style and charm all its own. We had a clean room, VERY comfortable queen beds, unique homemade furniture that is very beautiful and sturdy. The room itself was big and had a fridge, microwave, large kitchen table and more handmade chairs! No breakfast but that's fine. We were greeted with a smile at check in, staff seemed genuinely happy unlike other hotels We have encountered. This place seemed brand new or newly renovated and we LOVED it!! I can't find a reason to find fault here. Everything I want in a hotel was top notch. The service at the desk was good, the cleanliness and smell of the room was perfect, the bed was very comfy, the shower was great with excellent water pressure and shower head, towels were large and soft, tv worked great with a million channels, internet was excellent, and the night was quiet. The bed had real timbers for headboard and the frame. Very western indeed. We plan on at least 1 return trip to Cody and this will be where I stay. read more

TL;DR - The hotel cares so little about you as a guest, you might as well spend your money elsewhere. I waited this week to see if I'd be contacted by the manager as promised, and my issues were ignored. We were in Cody, WY to venture up to Yellowstone (sidetone - make sure you check for what gates are open before you book anything). We stayed 3 nights total, after purchasing an additional night's stay. To start, the front desk posts signs and a phone out, so if you need help you will have to call to someone who is elsewhere in the building. On two occasions I had to dial "0" for help, where other guests had been waiting for some time before I got there, to call for someone to come up and help. Also, if you have any issues overnight, please be advised they have no 24/7 staff, so if something goes wrong it waits until the morning. Pros overall - there was a mini fridge and microwave in our room, and the location is decent given there's a grocery store and some fast food/coffee nearby. Original booking (2 nights, King bed rm 204) - there were cheerios and dust underneath the bed and no sanitation band to show the toilet was cleaned (though we were under the impression the room was cleaned and ready for us prior to check in). The bed itself almost has a fold in the middle where it dips horizontally across the whole bed. This caused us both considerable neck/back/shoulder pain from sleeping in the bed. The bed itself also creaked upon sitting on it or moving while laying down, loudly enough to make us think it was going to fall apart. The television remote worked for the tv in suite, however it was so old/used that the numbers were barely visible on it. Garbage was not taken from this room until after we were out of room 204. Additional booking (1 night, 2 queen beds rm 209) - Prior to booking this, I spoke with a gentleman on the afternoon of our 2nd day staying there. Mind you, I called for him, because no one was at the desk when I walked down, and a gentleman was waiting to check in there was waiting at least 5 minutes. Anyway, I asked the person (note no one had on a name tag the whole 3 days I was there) if I could add a night's stay to my stay. He said they may be able to give me another night in the room I was in, but he didn't know how to do it, and essentially had me come back the next day when we would be checking out. The next day, I go down there, there's no way to extend me in the room we were in, and that we would have to change rooms to a double queen. Sure, I thought, even though I'm curious if I had gotten someone who could do it the day prior, could I have stayed in my original room? But whatever. So we are planning to head out to Yellowstone again that day, and the guy who I worked with that morning (he wore a white shirt, no name tag) quickly took my payment for the third night and told us they would let us know when we could change rooms. Not ten minutes later one of the housekeeping staff tells us our room is done, which is great! It's early, so we can drop our things and get out of there (the room appeared clean). So we brought over our clothes, the leftovers we had for the fridge (which was delicious Bubba's BBQ, highly recommend) and my double insulated water bottle. We put it all up, and leave for our day trip into Yellowstone. Please note underneath the bed was dirty with broken crackers. We get back to the hotel around midnight/1am. We come back to our room from the side entrance (another note - the front doors are only open for limited time since the hotel does not invest in 24 hour staff). After cleaning up, ready to eat, we go to the fridge to find that our food was thrown away while we were gone, as well as my water bottle was missing. It was one of the most disheartening points of our stay, knowing we couldn't trust our personal possessions, be it food, a bottle or otherwise, weren't in the room. To top that off, as upsetting as that was we now had to sleep not knowing what happened to our stuff. The next day, I go down to the front desk. We stood at the window for a few minutes while a man cut his fingernails at the end of desk on the other side of the glass. I say a friendly "hello" which gets his attention that I needed help. When I explained what happened, he told me 'well we don't hold food once you check out," etc... the problem was that I hadn't checked out last night, I had paid to stay and so my food and my bottle shouldn't have been discarded. He goes to check with housekeeping staff and my bottle is returned. Food is obviously thrown away, in huge error, and along with the complaints on room 209 that I listed, I was understandably upset. The person who helped me (he was wearing a green buttoned long sleeve shirt) didn't really help me with anything. Before I left the hotel for the last time, I got his name and the name of the manager "Nick." I gave my name and phone number to contact, but don't expect to hear from them. read more

One of the worst nights sleep in my life (room 102) close to the lobby and ice machine. When your flight home requires a 4:00 a.m. departure and the room above you has heathen children who use the bed as a trampoline and the floor as the landing pad (from the sound of it). When you call the Front Desk it improves less than marginally as they move the party to the lobby where said heathen children use the hallway as their personal playground. The parents DO NOTHING AND MANAGEMENT IS OBLIVIOUS TO GUEST COMFORT!!!!!!! When there are doors to separate PUBLIC OR COMMON AREAS FROM GUEST ROOMS BUT ARE NOT USED. We stayed in the motel style rooms, they were clean and updated and (the beds were split with the bathroom in the middle). Ended up staying here due to an error by one of their sister properties. We obviously got an older room sorely in need of an update. The carpets were stained and the bed so soft, it folded like a taco when we laid down. The air conditioner was either on or off. No way to regulate it. Needless to say we did not get any sleep and requested a different room for the next night. Fortunately they moved us to the newer building which was much better. Hard to recommend when you have such variances. No consistency in rooms. They did offer coffee but no breakfast. read more

This place has the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on at a hotel. The room is small but very clean. The staff was very nice. The heating/air system in the room sucks. It's either super hot or cold very very hard to get it the right temperature.( very loud fan). It's one on a dial, not on a thermostat. No amenities , no pool, no food etc.Which is fine if you just want a place to sleep. The rooms are not real sound proof, you can hear doors closing, people talking in the hall. We have stayed at 4 hotels on this trip and I have slept best at this one. Generous rooms with very comfortable beds. The decor is great for a family hotel and the rooms are crisp, clean, and pleasant with log-look bed frames, white bedding, and historic photos. They have a pool, hot tub, and dry sauna! Breakfast in the AM and 24 hr coffee is a nice plus. The bathrooms are well-sized and there is a nice closet near the sink which is outside the shower/toilet area. I like that! Refrig, microwave, TV, hair dryer, coffee maker, and a generous table with two chairs are all supplied in room. The lighting is also plentiful! I would recommend sitting on the lobby's nice couches in front of the fireplace and drink some coffee before heading up to bed after the rodeo. And...wait for it...free wifi! Great place! Highly recommend. PS The only downside is the fan in the shower area that can't be turned off (you can't hear it with the shower/toilet area door shut) and no elevator when you've got a 45 pound suitcase :). read more

The staff are knowledgeable and professional and can direct persons to a variety of eating establishments and recommend all kinds of adventures. While the room and the hotel are newer and clean, we value location. This hotel is a ways from downtown, making walking to dinner NOT an option. While traveling we prefer to walk to dinner and shops, and we found this location not to our liking. We were traveling with exchange students and we read morning breakfast provided. The first night we checked in the toilet didn't work. We had to jiggle the handle and remove the lid to get it to flush and the fan in the bathroom also didn't work. We reported the problem the next day and a gentleman who worked behind the front desk came to look at it. He removed the cover from the fan and played around with the toilet himself. Unable to fix it, he assured us he would have someone come to take a look at it. It was never fixed. We continued having to jiggle the handle , remove the lid, and live without the bathroom fan. Halfway into our visit, the air conditioner stopped working during the middle of the night. Although we reported the non functioning air conditioner the next morning, it was not repaired until the day after that. A premium channel displayed a blue line across the screen during our entire visit. Again it was reported, the poor guy at the desk tried to repair that too, to no avail. So on our last evening, the manager finally came by after trying to reach him for hours. He quickly and abruptly told us that he would not do anything to compensate us for these inconveniences, and that we should just check out in the morning. We were told by locals that this is a new owner. Beware and think more than twice before booking a room here. read more

My family and I recently stayed 2 nights here while visiting Yellowstone. We stayed in a 2 room suite which was perfect for us. Plenty of room for our 2yr old granddaughter to play with toys and for the adults to not feel crowded. The room is in a separate building that is set up like a duplex and we were able to park right by the door. There is a nice porch with chairs for relaxing in the evening. No breakfast is offered but they do have coffee in the rooms and lobby. We were able to shop across the street at the grocery store and the fridge and microwave in the room were just what we needed. read more

This was a great place!! We had the Indian War suite and 2 adults and 2 children fit very comfortably. The staff was friendly and very helpful. There was no breakfast but the 24 hour coffee bar was amazing. It wasn't just a choice of regular or decaf. I missed not having a "complimentary breakfast" that you find at most places but there are plenty of places to eat in in this friendly community. This will be our Yellowstone stop! read more

We stayed here on our way into Yellowstone and we're greeted by a friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean and quiet just as expected. In the morning I went to the lobby and the lady at the desk made me a pot of decaf, because they don't normally make one. She also helped me with the road conditions going into the park and saved me a couple of hours because of road closures. read more

We were with a large bicycle group that arrived in Cody needing to change its schedule (thanks to nearby wildfires). Bonnie at Cody Legacy Inn & Suites took it all in stride and made the change ever so easy for all riders who were staying here. The hotel is clean and comfortable, and Bonnie was one of the best front desk staff I have ever met in a lifetime of travel. Plenty are friendly, plenty more are efficient, but not too many combine those characteristics with a wish to take care of everyone as well as their mothers would have!
