I was told next time take an Uber which my friends just took an Uber from the same address for $18 dollars so as I live and breathe we will never take a Park Ridge cab. You have been warned. Ok...due to last minute plans....I neded cab. So I called these guys;I was also a bit agitated, so when the guy said right down the street and then 10 minutes later, I was alittle annoyed. But when the yellow caprice rolled up, it became an enjoyable experience. The driver, Tom, was quite a chatty driver, and made the experience quite enjoyable. A former solider with the Army, we talked alittle shop among other things like politics; I guess my point is, he made my stress diminish alittle with his friendly and professional posture and made me think I would call for a cab next time vs taking the bus. Do not use Park Ridge Taxi! I used to use them for years and they were reliable. They have gone downhill FAST! My last two experiences with them, I have not been picked up. I called the night before to make a reservation for pick up. Then no one ever showed up. So I had to drive to the airport and pay $100 for parking instead of a $20 cab. My last experience, and it will for sure be my last, I even confirmed with the guy that someone would be there to get me, that I had been stood up last time. Worst taxi service I have ever had to deal with. It started with the reservation to the dispatcher to the driver and it was and has been bad all the way around. The cabs are still flithy and smell pretty bad. I live in Park Ridge and happy to see that 303 cabs are servicing park ridge. I undertsand weather has something to do with delays but service oriented companies do notify clients that the reservation made cant be honored. PR Taxi did not notify me. On my most recent trip (1/9/14) the driver had the meter running before I even stepped into the cab and did not attempt to move to help me with my luggage. His cab was dirty and had bags of garbage and open cans sitting on his dashboard. A ride that has always been 18-19 dollars ended up being 24. Not a big $ amount, but is the principal of the issue. I always called Des Plaines Community Cab since i live in Des Plaines. They sent a Park Ridge Cab (orange van) instead at around 2:00 PM going to 2562 Ballard Rd (Puldin's Car Repair Shop). The driver asked me for destination and I answered. He was laughing at me because my destination was just 2 blocks away from my house and that he had to drive all the way from very far just to pick me up and drive me just for 2 freaking blocks. I thought the weather would give it away - 17 degrees with blowing snow and icy road. The driver (Indian) said i could have just walk there instead of getting into his cab. He was rude and was talking on the phone about me - i could pick up few words he was saying. The guy was speeding up like trying to frighten me. The fare was $5.10 but i just gave him $6.00 for my trouble. I will never order Park Ridge Cab nor Des Plaines Community Cab ever again! Their dispatcher were very friendly and nice - Corina & Kim. This particular driver was extremely rude & with bad manner. There are many taxi cab company in the area like 303. I've had some nice experience with them before. Today I called and made a reservation for a cab to O'Hare. 15 minutes after they were supposed to arrive I called again and they had my reservation but hadn't sent a cab. The excuse was "I just got here, I didn't take your call". Then he quoted "maybe 10, 15, 20 minutes...". I started complaining and the dispatcher said "don't yell at me", and hung up on me. Last week they sent someone who didn't know how to get to the Loop and had never heard of Dearborn. I had to enter it into his GPS for him. (I understand them having drivers who don't know the city. Don't send one of them when I gave my destination address to the dispatch.) Today's call convinced me dispatch isn't even in the area, let alone PR. Sigh. I used to rave about PR Taxi. Really bad experience. I'll give credit where it's due - the morning I needed a cab to get to O'Hare for a business trip flight was the first snowy morning of the season. But that does not excuse being told a pickup was on the way, and then waiting for over an hour for a taxi that never arrived. I called twice to get updates and was just told "We're busy, we'll get to you when we can". If they had been upfront that there would be such a massive delay, I might give them more credit, but the dispatch was incredibly unforthcoming and unhelpful. They have lost my business. Luckily another taxi company was able to pick me up and get me to the airport in time for my flight, and I will be calling them in the future for my other taxi needs. read more

I'm really surprised by the previous reviews and glad that I read them AFTER my experience with Park Ridge Taxi. I've used Chicago city taxis in the past for transportation between home and O'Hare and can say that I have not been particularly happy with the service or cleanliness of the taxis, especially the awful experience of having to wait in the city taxi line at O'Hare. I recently moved from Chicago to Park Ridge so I thought I would give Park Ridge Taxi a try this past weekend for taxi service from home to O'Hare. The phone agents were pleasant and efficient. My taxi pick-up from home arrived right at the time I requested if not a couple of minutes early. The driver who took me to O'Hare was great. His taxi was clean and he advised me of how to request a Park Ridge taxi when I returned and where to wait for suburban taxi service. When I landed back at O'Hare and deplaned, I called Park Ridge taxi and was told it would be a 10 minute wait. So by the time I made it through the terminal and down to the suburban taxi stand, the taxi drove right up. This driver was also very nice and had a very clean taxi. The charge seemed comparable to me to what I would pay using a city taxi service so no problem there with feeling I had been overcharged. Would definitely use Park Ridge Taxi again! read more

Called again and it seemed that the order was never entered. Waited another 20 minutes before having to take a city cab. Cruel to a senior! My family will never use Park Ridge Taxi again. My 80 year old mother asked for a hand getting out of the mini-van taxi. She said there was no handle visible and there was a big step down. The driver remained in the driver's seat and gruffly told her that she should have called an ambulance if she needed assistance. This was after she paid and tipped him. I am shocked and saddened that a person would treat a senior this way. My mom called to report her experience and they said the owner would call back. Called early the night before for a 4:00 a.m. pick up from Park Ridge to ORD. Called back and changed to 4:30 am shortly after that. 4:30 am came and went and no cab and no call. Tried to reach the office and got the voice mail so called other cab companies in area and all were closed until 5:00 am. Plan B was to drive to remote and park at ORD (an expense I wasn't planning on). While waiting for flight listened to voice mail and sure enough Park Ridge Taxi (at 5:00 am )letting me know they were still looking for a van for me and call them back if I still needed it. Needless to say last time I will use them. Very disappointed and no way to start a vacation and really happy I live near O'Hare. They were late picking her up, got gas on the way there, went the wrong way and got her there 30 minutes late! And what should have been a $10 fare was $33. This is the WORST service we have ever had! They actually deserve ZERO stars! First we call to make a reservation to get a taxi to come get us at the airport to bring us back to Park Ridge- explaining very clearly that we need a VAN that can fit 5 adults (including a handicapped 93 grandmother). They say of course, but they won't come get us until we have our luggage. Fine-- we call & have our luggage & they say they will send the van within 10-20 minutes (mind you- this was all pre-arranged well before we even had left the state of Virginia). Fast forward to us waiting on the curb... 25 minutes later we are waiting outside just now getting a phone call from none other than the PR taxi company telling us they do not have a van available now & they don't even have 2 regular taxis to fit our group- so they won't be able to pick us up!!!!! Are you freaking kidding me!?!?!?! What kind of customer service is this? This is by far the worst taxi company we have ever used & guess what- they just lost our business for LIFE! We've been residents of Park Ridge for 40 years now & you better believe we are never using them again! Good thing we found the lovely 303 taxi company to be much more accommodating! They claim to be good with kids and can take them to and from camp or school. Half the cab drivers are scary and have threatened my kids for money when they are supposed to just charge us weekly. More than half the time they don't show up at all to pick them up. The manager Lani assured me after the first time they didn't show up that it wouldn't happen again. Yet it consistently happens. It happened today and my kids are going to miss a field trip that they've been looking forward to for weeks. We are going to speak to a lawyer to see if we have any type of lawsuit against them. After waiting over 30 minutes and calling repeatedly to get an update on the status of the second cab we requested an Uber. I am so disappointed with this Park Ride Taxi! My family of 4 and I were going to Airport on Friday. We leave 4.5 miles away from the airport. We were charged 25.50 The cab driver had a 10 surcharge when we left our home. I would only write a negative review if Park Ridge Taxi supervisors did NOT follow through with my call.
