Using a lift crane to decorate their customers home they completely blocked the street for hours and yelled at the residents to "go around the block" and at one point even gave the middle finger to two of us. Rather than say "sorry for the inconvenience and would you mind going around temporarily", they chose to be extremely rude. I find this unacceptable for a company that touts themselves as "local".

Our goal was to restore it to its original liveability as a single family home. Teakwood has a reputation as expensive and our initial bid, to do everything on a wish list, was pretty high. But they worked with us and a revised bid was significantly lower and we went with them. This bid entailed a clear-eyed distinction between "need to" and "nice to" improvements so we ended up with a price we were happy with. The quality of the work, both by Teakwood carpenters and their subs, is superb. Teakwood has a philosophy of assigning a master carpenter to oversee the job and our guy, Dan Decenzo, could not be better. Josh, the guy who did a number of built-ins, is a master of his craft and we now have benches and bookcases that look like they have been there 130 years like the rest of the structure. We were offered a 1 year satisfaction guarantee and I'm prompted to write because, well over 1 year after the fact, Dan has been back recently to fix a couple minor things. Bottom line, we are really happy with Teakwood and would definitely recommend you bid out your project to them.

They have the skills to fix pretty much anything, and the talent to make it look great. I've seen them build a beautiful stone wall out of a rubble of rocks; scrape and paint a peeling deck and make it look new; overhaul an ancient bathroom; replace front and back doors on an old house (where nothing was straight and true, but the new doors are aligned and tight). Every job has that extra, nice touch that makes it a true "improvement", not just a fix. On top of that, they are cool, personable, trustworthy guys who you won't mind having around your house. p.s. They do a lot of work in the Capital area, not just Glens Falls.

I strongly suspect I'd steer clear right along with him. We had a deck built and were happy enough with it to have Carbiere Construction install a Bay window. That went well too, and we have just hired him to replace a deck on our summer property and renovate a screen porch. They all complained but nobody offered any help. Lots of drivebys and rubbernecking as well as neighbors walking by NOT looking and the town of NorthUmberland (Richard Collaso) fighting with our workers and causing our costs to sky rocket. Ol' Stefanus said he saw everyday when he drove by but this supposed great neighbor never offered any advice out of being neighborly. Years these neighbors saw what we went through by land grabbers attempting to steal 30ft+ Of our hillside even after we had it professionally surveyed 3 times and still were getting resistance. Stefanus was not professional and he definitely wasn't acting like a responsible adult. He recommended J2 design to get a quote. We had previously use them as well and proved to be terrible...
