I followed the old adage to get at least three bids, and among them was DFW Fence Contractor. From the start, Stacey was right there, explaining the types of wood, the merits of each type, the significance of the pole sizes and spacing, and all the other fine points. I was super impressed, and he handed me a written estimate with notes, details, diagrams, and a full breakdown of all the costs. They were expensive. The other contractors showed up (or not) to see the job. Those who did gave me a written bid (or they did not). As it was, the proposals we're all pretty competitive, but when I started looking at the materials (my experience has shown the fence rails are the first thing to rot, and once rotten, reattaching the slats becomes difficult because as I nail in one slat, three others loosen up), I realized DFW Fence Contractor uses ACTUAL 2x4s instead of MILLED 2x4s, which is very significant and distinctive from any other proposal. The more I looked, the more I decided I didn't want any other company doing this job. Suffice it to say, like so many other reviewers have said, they showed up on time, worked hard, did the job far better than expected, and cleaned up afterward. Everyone on the crew was friendly and easy to talk to, happy to help get it how we wanted it. Really, an excellent company that does an amazing job, FAR exceeding expectations. It's been up a month and still smells as good as it looks!

Beware of this company!!…read more My fault for trusting M & L Fence and paying them before completing one minor but important item. I needed to have a new fence built and M & L fence had done many fences in my community so I decided to use them. Miguel Limon was good at communicating thru out the process until he got paid. Here is the problem. My neighbor on one side of me had a concern about his side of the fence. Since I was restraining and capping our shared fence we needed to make sure it would all look good. Miguel and I assured him that it would. Miguel made me a liar. The neighbors side does not look good. The trim pieces were left unstained and there were several items that I found after that has made me unhappy. I have been calling Miguel to come out and fix this one problem and he keeps putting me off. He keeps telling me next week but never shows up. If he would fix this one problem I would have not have not wrote this negative review. Here was another problem. I wanted my fence and garage pressure washed before staining. During the staining I noticed that my garage didn't get pressure washed. I mentioned it to him and Miguel said that was not part of the agreement. I told him I was clear that I wanted everything pressure washed and he obliged and did it. The pressure they used was so high it left marks on my fence.. There was also broken bricks from my retaining wall which I did not complain about. There was warped boards I did not complain about. I am complaining now because as things linger you just get more upset. This company does not care about your business after the sale!! I have tried to have him send out one guy fix the problem for over a month.

I do not recommend P&B TX Fencing. I thought I was hiring experts to install the fence properly,…read morebut they are not. Posts were installed incorrectly, fence connection was poorly done, and I had to supervise their work. Ultimately I fired them and finished the project myself. Fence posts are 8 feet long and 2-3 feet need to be buried if the post is to be sturdy, especially when the ground is water logged. Only four of eleven posts were installed correctly. The other posts were buried too shallow and the tops cut off. I notified P&B and requested a foreman. Foreman never showed. Over the phone they suggested adding more concrete to the post, which doesn't fix the problem. They said they would redo the posts, didn't happen. Workers continued to cut the tops of posts installed too shallow. A section of fence in the same line as my neighbors was overlapped instead of aligned. P&B installed my neighbor's fence the week or two before and knew my fence was being replaced too. I have to undo the sloppy work on both fence sections before doing it properly myself. Spacing between posts should be 8 feet, P&B did sections of 10-11 feet and one only a few feet. I had to ensure they installed the brackets correctly, put caps on the posts, and screw a runner into the bracket. I explicitly asked about post depth and orientation of the brackets when P&B came out to give a quote. I didn't want to do the work myself and thought I was hiring professional experts.
