Thank God for this company. Their Honesty and professionalism blew me away. These guys are genuine and not only thoroughly diagnosed my roof issues, but educated me about the process to fix it, AND captured on camera each stage of the process to show me how it was completed. I like the fact Stevan himself came to my family's home and did a good job estimating the project at no coast. We worked together and met as a price. He drew up the contract, I signed it and gave him half of the money up front. The project date was set and I felt optimistic hiring them to do the work. The morning the work was to begin, I waited for Steven's crews. At 9:00 AM an eighteen wheel pulls up to my house and unloads the material in my yard. This was on a Thursday. At 10:30AM, Stevan's crews had not arrived. I called the project Forman and he was very apologetic saying they had cancel the project for Thursday the day before due to the possibility of bad weather. He apologized due to not contacting me regarding them canceling. I was furious. I had canceled work for that day to be there for the roof replacement. I called Stevan and requested we cancel the contract. At this point I didn't feel optimistic about this contractor. I let Stevan talk me into moving forward on the contract and we set a date for the following Monday with the promise that he would personally supervise the project. I told him I was flying to New York and I wouldn't be there on Monday. He assured me he would take pictures and I would be happy with their work. Monday---the day of the project. The workers showed up and went to work. The Forman called me and I tried talking to him but there was a huge language barrier. Stevan sent pictures to my wife and she forwarded them to me. They did a good job but not a professional job. Their quality control is terrible. I hired them to replace the roof, some decking, a lot of the facia boards, drip edge, a section of soffit, and two new boots and turbine, as well as flashing where needed. They finished the job in one day. The roof is now new. They replaced the turbine-new. They did not install the two new boots. The flashing they installed looks terrible and there's areas that need flashing that got over looked. The facia boards will have to be replaced do to poor installation and poor quality control. There's areas of the drip edge that will need adjusting due to being flared upward. This project consist of a hip roof and two sections of flat roof. The flat roof was to get a commercial grade rolled roof. The hip roof was to get shingles. My wife and I spoke with Stevan regarding the color-match of the two. Stevan assures is the colors would match. Well, they don't. Not even close. I am still in New York and have yet to see the roof in person. I spoke with Stevan regarding the above issues and he became offensive saying he felt as if I were "attacking him", and he mentioned they had done extra work and didn't request payment for the extras. Completely unprofessional. I explained to him that I have a right to expect a job well done, and making excuses is not professional. I also reminded him the terms of the contract in respect to additional work: he would contact me and we would come to an agreement. Stevan has assured me that he will have someone at my house next Monday to fix the above problems. He did however say the electrical riser will not get the promised (in the contract) boot due to his worker not feeling safe with the installation, despite the pre-contract talk with Stevan assuring me there would not be any problem with the installation. He even went as far as to explain how the install it. Again, I will do a second part to this review after the corrections have been made. I may do an additional review after seeing the job in person. I prefer dealing with the person who will be doing all the work. I did a lot of research on how Texas laws are different from other states and knew I had to go with Dennis. Just look at his website and you will get an education on roofing. Dennis uses only the best materials and names that I know and trust. Other companies will quote the work with companies I've never heard of. Their warranties on the labor will also be like 3 years instead of what Dennis will cover. You always want a contractor to communicate with you on everything and keep you informed. This was by far the best experience I've ever had with any contractor of any trade I've ever used. Everyone was professional and respectful. The roof went up in a day and everything was covered and then cleaned up. Forward to today, our roof had been great in spite of Texas' brutally hot summers and hailstorms, but with the accumulated hail damage over the years we decided (along with our insurance company) it was finally time to replace the 29-year-old roof! Again, we chose D. Bassett Roofing to do the work, and I'm here to report that nothing has changed. We experienced the same knowledgeable, honest & experienced workmanship that we had seen back in 1995. They also worked with our insurance adjuster providing pictures and other data and even met with him personally. In addition to the new roof, D. Bassett replaced our gutters & covers, repaired several window screens and painted two rooms, and everything was completed quickly and to our satisfaction at very reasonable prices. Seriously, I did a ton of research. I had many quotes. In this process, I ended up talking with Harvey. He sounded like the most genuine person I have met in a long time. He, beyond thoroughly, discussed with me the things I wanted to know, and he had so much knowledge and seemed to unquestionably care about the jobs they do. I felt they would not cut corners or let me down and they didn't. Harvey made the project begin in a timely manner and when they started they arrived early in the morning and worked until dark, and then he told me they would be back the next day to do finishing touches, and they were there first thing the next morning. They completed the finishing touches that morning and then Harvey came again that evening to re-magnet for nails again. He picked up tiny pieces of trash and went over the entire area again with the magnet, and then went over the drive-way area two more times. I bought a Class 4 shingle and he sent the warranty information for me and sent me a paper to give to the insurance company for the substantial discount on my home owners insurance. Harvey was also on site during the installation of the new roof and he sent pictures to me of what they were doing. He made sure the structure of the roof was good and showed me where they needed to replace decking. I feel that I received a roof that is more solid than what I had and that he did not cut corners, nor did he do un-necessary things. The products looked very high quality and he showed them to me and explained everything about everything. I felt I did not have to wonder or worry about anything. His bid was very reasonable and I felt was extremely fair. In any industry today where we have to hire someone to do a very important job for us, and we have to trust them, and everything is complicated to death and stressful, it feels incredible to find a trustworthy person to hire. Harvey made the entire thing uncomplicated, and I felt at ease. I did not experience any fear as to how it would go. My favorite word for Harvey is genuine, and after spending the time with him and seeing his character, I did not need to continue looking. I would say to you to look no further than this company. If you want to do your own research, of-course do, but if you wish someone already has done that and found the best to be found, then give yourself a break and just hire Harvey. (Way over 5 stars.)

No response and after several days I called again. He responded by text and said he had to take a few personal days. An appointment was set for him to come give us an estimate and he did send that after our first meeting. At that appointment some additional plans were discussed and another appointment set. This time he didn't show up, didn't call and didn't text. I sent two text to him asking if he was coming and no response. We had plans for the day and we were left waiting and wondering. On my third message I told him he had already had two red flags previously by responding several days after I had called and this was the second issue of not showing and that I could not work with undependable and we were done. Then he finally responded and said he got hung up building a swing set! That's very unprofessional. No I would not recommend him, he seems to work when he wants to as some previous reviews on Yelp have had the same issue. In his defense he seems to be a very nice guy, but I wasn't hiring a nice guy.

I paid for the services which they said that I needed before they could repair the floor, which they never did. I paid for underbelly lining to be put up under my home of which they did not do. I clearly marked on the memo section of the checks given to them for services, that the warranties be honored as well as the additional damages repaired. There are texts, telephone messages, pictures as well as receipts and documents to support my complaint against this company. The company told the BBB that they have a video to share of the work that they performed. I provided pictures and texts confirming my complaint/damages of which I exchanged with the General Manager and Contractor. I was reassured that they would make it right and repair and do the work......to date they have not contacted me. I can provide the pictures and text messages verifying this additional post.
