Posts were installed incorrectly, fence connection was poorly done, and I had to supervise their work. Ultimately I fired them and finished the project myself. Fence posts are 8 feet long and 2-3 feet need to be buried if the post is to be sturdy, especially when the ground is water logged. Only four of eleven posts were installed correctly. The other posts were buried too shallow and the tops cut off. I notified P&B and requested a foreman. Foreman never showed. Over the phone they suggested adding more concrete to the post, which doesn't fix the problem. They said they would redo the posts, didn't happen. Workers continued to cut the tops of posts installed too shallow. A section of fence in the same line as my neighbors was overlapped instead of aligned. P&B installed my neighbor's fence the week or two before and knew my fence was being replaced too. I have to undo the sloppy work on both fence sections before doing it properly myself. Spacing between posts should be 8 feet, P&B did sections of 10-11 feet and one only a few feet. I had to ensure they installed the brackets correctly, put caps on the posts, and screw a runner into the bracket. I explicitly asked about post depth and orientation of the brackets when P&B came out to give a quote. I didn't want to do the work myself and thought I was hiring professional experts.

They did the entire thing without having to meet face to face which was great due to my work schedule. They stayed in constant contact via phone and e-mail and managed to knock the job out within a week. I nearly wrote them off when I received their quote and had to work the math myself but I'm happy I didn't because their finished total actually came up less than mine and that helped sell me on the job. My only concern is that there are two slats they used that I know will fall apart before the rest of the fence because they have some imperfections but it's wood, no piece is ever perfect and those two little spots don't diminish the great work they did!

They showed up on time with a trailer full of material ready to go. You can tell these guys are used to working together because they just go at it until they are done. Their team removed and replaced 67 feet of fence with nice new redwood in one day, which included time for concrete to set on the new steel posts. Posts nicely concealed with nary a wiggle if you shake it. They needed to keep the same stagger as before so I could reattach the electrical and water for the RV parking. Nice guys, hard workers.
