Doctor Parker is a visionary! I seen a lot of physicians in a lot of different fields of medicine. He is kind and most of all nonjudgmental. I used to use this practice, but not anymore. This is my take: The good: The therapist I saw (Deborah Mostert) was really helpful, while I was going through my divorce and getting settled in my new life. Tip: It is very busy (with many therapists) so I'd recommend getting there at least 10-15 minutes early, to wait in line to pay and check in prior to your appointment. The bad: About three months into therapy with Deborah, I started having trouble getting appointments, simply b/c her schedule was so busy. I was pretty upset and wanted to see a therapist at least once a week. They let me see a different (nice) therapist a couple times, while Deborah's schedule was packed. The problem is that once Deborah's schedule cleared out, the office staff tried hard not to let me see her again (b/c they claimed I had "switched" therapists). It was very aggravating. After fighting with the office staff (being allowed to see my original therapist once more, but being given crap about it), I just stopped going. So, in summary, the actual therapist I saw was good. You'll wait months for your first appt. Dr. Parker will meet w you for 20 minutes and ask you a bunch of questions rating yourself 1-5. You'll answer honestly but he will change your answer. He will diagnose you with a host of disorders, try to set you up for several tests that insurance doesn't cover. He will prescribe you some new medicine that insurance doesn't cover. He will fill your inbox with his emails. Don't dare respond to one telling him the rx he gave isn't covered and the coupon he gave w it doesn't work. He will tell you not to use his personal email to discuss such matters. He will refer you to the front desk who will not discuss rx over the phone. Have fun! read more

Tashia Roeke made for an awful experience. She is unbelievably rude, disrespectful, and uninterested in helping others. I felt like I was a burden during our brief 15 minute appointment. She made everything I said seem irrelevant and was useless in answering questions about medication (her job might I add). She was awful in every way and I am thankful she is not the only NP in the practice. This experience alone was enough to make me consider switching practices. read more

I see the doctor to be evaluated. After that, he sends me to see the Nurse Practitioner for a med check every three months. I want a psychiatrist who talks to his or her patients and asks how the medications are working. He gives a diagnosis and believes in getting blood work done, sending a urine sample to a lab in Kansas and mailing a piece of hair out of state, almost all of which are not covered by insurance. read more

I was able to get an appointment right away. My daughter's previous therapist was unavailable for a crisis, and Jody took her ASAP because she knew we needed her! Jody Foley consistently goes above and beyond to get my child the care that she needs. She refers out for things that are medically needed, but she still gives advice on how to proceed. She has provided neurofeedback therapy which was very successful for us. She even comes in early to help accomodate us, and she has incorporated therapy to include group therapy. She regularly communicates with my daughter's doctor at CHKD to make sure we are handling her problems from every angle. The office staff recognizes us when we walk in. It's a great family environment. Jody even fits in my younger daughter to help with the impact we see within our entire family. And that might be the most important thing - she treats us as a family, as needed. We LOVE Jody. Thank you Jody for making a difference in our lives. read more

I honestly can not understand the negative reviews here. This practice is hands down the best place I have ever been to. Dr. Parker is incredibly intelligent and compassionate. I love the fact that he doesn't just throw medication at you without extensive testing first. He was the first to diagnose me with an autoimmune disorder that other doctors has previously missed. Because of my compromised gut, I could not properly absorb any medications. He reviewed my blood work and put me on a new diet (without trying to sell me supplements) and I saw an immediate improvement in my body's ability to digest my meds, thus increasing my mental wellness. Their nurses are amazing and I appreciate that at the med checks they REALLY want to know how you are doing. They review your goals. Dr. Parker worked very hard to find the right dosage and combination of medications that worked for me, constantly starting at square one if I wasn't happy. I can't say that for most psychiatrists. As far as the testing goes, don't listen to other reviewers. I had it done. I was given a list up front with the out of pocket costs CLEARLY listed next to each test. There are really no surprises there. Also, his biofeedback testing is run under a separate business, and it is not something he pushes on everybody. It is recommended solely when it is suspected that there are serious health issues affecting your mental wellness. No, you can not use his personal email to discuss medication matters. That seems like standard practice. Any doctor or nurse worth their salt will want to see you in person to discuss changing CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES. These should not be handed out like candy and changed on a whim and I am glad his office recognizes that. I also cannot understand reviewers being offended that they were diagnosed with several disorders. That IS what you saw a psychiatrist for, right? If you don't want to change or work hard, then this place is not for you. I agree with another reviewer that Deborah is an EXCELLENT therapist, and yes, she gets booked. This is why she always REMINDS you to schedule out at least 3 months in advance, because she doesn't want you to ever be without care. If the front office makes this difficult, talk to your therapist. She has always handled issues with the front office quickly and efficiently for me. In short, this place is on the forefront of brain science and I have sent several friends here. Give it a chance. Not everyone who has a great experience posts reviews. Usually the people who post reviews are disgruntled. I feel passionate enough about the life changing care I have received here to write a review under my own name, publicly. read more

I would not recommend this practice. It is difficult to schedule as you will see from other reviews. We had appointments that were scheduled wrong. We had situations were we waiting over 30 minutes only to be told sorry we can't see you today. When we did meet with Dr. Schlichter and we questioned his advice he responded "get a lawyer". Do not use this doctor he is heavily aligned with certain lawyers and their clients. read more

I've been going to Parker, Schlichter for several years now. Dr. Parker is excellent. While it is tough to get an appointment scheduled with him sometimes, it's fairly easy to get one with the Nurse Practitioner; however, you may or may not receive decent treatment from the NP. In the six or so years I've been going to this office, I can't even count the number of NPs I've seen. They rotate often and without notice so that I often have to "start fresh" explaining my medication history and how I'm doing. Many of them, to be fair, have done a good job, but it's really the luck of the draw. Most recently they've hired a new NP who is probably the worst I've encountered so far. She took a personal call while I was in her office (stopped the consultation mid-sentence to step out for a call about her child...and the consultation lasted fewer than 15 minutes, I think it could have waited just that long), completed a conversation with another staff member in the hall (about scheduling another patient) as I waited on her to come back in, barely listened to me once she returned, treated me as if I were an inconvenience for her, and by the end of the session changed by medication drastically. I'd been taking the same amount for over a year, but she suddenly changed things without clear explanation. I was stunned by the time I left the office. I have an appointment scheduled with Parker to try to fix things, but I certainly hope she doesn't stick around for long. Until then, I can't rate this office any higher. read more
