We visited Parker Subaru in Coeur d'Alene with no intention of buying a car. None. We were there to look, learn, compare, and maybe file the information away for some future decision. Apparently, Parker Subaru did not receive the memo. For context, my wife and I have purchased 22 Hondas over the years and currently own a 2025 Honda CR-V Sport. So, for us to break our Honda streak--and while already owning a vehicle in this same general category--says something. Yes, we were impressed with the Subaru Outback, but this review is not primarily about the vehicle. Cars are personal decisions. This review is about Parker Subaru, and especially about Kyrus Condon. The dealership itself checks every box: immaculate facility, comfortable design, wide selection of models, trims, options, and colors, plus an indoor service bay. Everything about the place felt clean, organized, and professional without feeling cold or corporate. And the people were even better. Every person we met was a true professional, including Vance Allen in finance, which is usually my least favorite part of buying a car. Vance made that process clear, comfortable, and surprisingly pleasant. But Kyrus Condon is the one who turned a casual visit into an outstanding experience. Think of the worst attributes people often associate with car salespeople. Now imagine the exact opposite. That is Kyrus. I am in my 70s, so naturally anyone in his 20s still qualifies as a "kid" to me. But from the moment he greeted us, we had the sense that he genuinely had our best interests in mind. Not as a sales technique. Not as a polished routine. It simply seemed to be who he is. Kyrus has the rare ability to make you feel like work is his excuse to meet people and try to make their day better. You cannot train that. You cannot script it. And then there was his knowledge. My wife and I could not get over his database. There was not a question we asked--and I ask more questions than a toddler on his first trip through a natural history museum--that he did not answer quickly, clearly, and accurately. At one point we began trying to manufacture questions just to see if we could stump him. Curses, foiled again! After our test drive--which was supposed to be nothing more than information gathering--we found ourselves asking Kyrus for the sale. That, I suspect, may qualify as a lane departure of its own. From there, the next steps were easy, pleasant, and refreshingly free of pressure. And that includes the pricing. I came in mentally preparing for the usual dealership dance, but Parker Subaru presented a price that beat both my best-case scenario and what I was already willing to pay. It did not feel like something we had to wrestle out of them. It felt like one more expression of how they do business. Parker Subaru earned our business. Kyrus Condon earned our trust. And now, somewhat unexpectedly, I find myself not only happy with the Subaru we purchased, but also contemplating whether our relatively new CR-V should be traded for an Outback Wilderness--because apparently, once Parker Subaru gets your attention, it does not let go easily. Unethical business practices from the service department. I did not have a good experience at Parker Subaru. I just wanted to take my car in for an oil change. We've recently moved to the area, so this was our first visit to this particular dealership. First, they were booked out for a full week (victims of their own success I guess). I appreciate they're busy, but it's just an oil change? In addition to the oil change they recommended a bunch of additional services, some of which didn't really need to be done. But this is the big issue. One of the things that they recommended was that I replace the battery. They said my battery was basically dead, and needed to be replaced "soon". They gave me a number of cold-cranking amps that was very low. Then they offered to replace the battery for $600 bucks! Well, I took the battery to Costco and had it tested for free. Guess what? 100% fine. Literally. It's rated at 500 cold-cranking amps, tested at 506 cold-cranking amps. Also, guess how much a replacement battery would cost at Costco? $124. Absolutely unethical. I feel badly for the people who don't have the sense to double-check things for themselves. read more

I just purchased my second Subaru but the first from Steve Yost & Parker. When I arrived to the dealership, I'd already seen where the Wilderness Subaru's were located. It was a hot afternoon and Steve came out to see what I was looking at. I'm very particular about the color of my automobiles, so I wanted to view the various colors. Steve said he had the one I wanted on the showroom floor which he did. I wanted a bunch of upgrades and he found the car in Parker's lot. Made the purchase & picked the car up the next day. When I spoke to the A J Carr Finance he reviewed the car protections that can be added. We talked and suggested a couple items, i.e., oil changes, chipped windshields, ripped interior...items I needed. I had a special coating put on the exterior of the car because I'm an outdoor gal which does a lot of gravel/dirt driving. When I arrived the next day, Steve was with another customer but that didn't slow all the other staff members down. The staff helped move a couple items to my new car, walked me through the car and how some of the new features worked. It was fabulous and I wish I would have purchased my first Subaru from them. Parker subaru service department- NEVER LET THEM SERVICE YOUR VEHICLES. I had a great buy experience with suraj Kendia and Brandon carrasco when I bought my 2025 subaru outback back in August 2025. When I bought the car I also purchase the maintenance package, thinking it would help save me from having to keep the receipt for the maintenance that I would do my self or having another shop do. I have had issues at 2,128 miles, 5,501 miles, 5,523 miles, 6,201 miles, 10,663 miles. Issues ranging Check engine lights, eye sight disabling, Driver side windows slow to roll up, left side of steering wheel fraying, Airbag Code after service, window code after servicing windows for slow roll up. My last service was probably the worst one yet, I was scheduled for a oil change and tire rotation, Not only did the service take almost 2 hours. Once I had received my car after service, I had called my boyfriend to let him know how it went. When I informed him that they said my front break where 10MM and rears where at 8 MM with my tire tread depth being 7/32 second. My cabin and engine air filter passing as clean. My boyfriend was a bit suspicious about these numbers so he had me stop my his shop as he is a mechanic. Once my boyfriend got to look at my car my front breaks where a 7 and the rears at 5, cabin and engine air filter are dirty. Tired tread at 6/32 on all 4 tires, oil was over filled by about a quart over. My oil drain plug was lose and oil was leaking out, and the oil filter rim was full of oil as well. This is not the first time I have had a sloppy job from parker subaru. When I called Parker subaru I was asked to return to the shop, this time I brought my boyfriend with me. They brought us out to the shop and showed us everything. They where using the break checker wrong, and the tire depth reader wrong as well. They drained my oil and refilled it. I would never suggest using Parker subaru service department, take your cars else where or learn to service them yourself. read more

THREE years of driving a car bought brand new at this dealership back in 2022. Here's the story.... In 2022, bought my first new car ever in my boomer life. A week from purchase, I drove the Ascent thru the car wash. The car WOULD NOT stop upon exiting so I had to pump the brakes a few times. I thought we'll, maybe this would get better. NOPE. After two more car washes, I drove it back to this dealership. I told the same sales guy about the brakes. He took it for a spin, came back and said brakes feel fine. I didn't believe him. Car began shaking aggressively while driving downhill thru mountains (about nine months later). I brought the car back this dealership. Service department looked at the brakes and told me rotors and brakes were fine. I took the car to a tire/brake business nearby. They told me the rotors were warping and would need replacement. We moved from the area and received a warranty recall from Subaru corporate August of 2024. The recall indicated that the brakes, suspension, rotors and joints would be replaced due to manufacturing issues. Oh, so from the day I drove off the lot, the brakes never worked. Very unsafe. Oh, the GPS, radio, air conditioner turned off a few times in the summer of 2024. One time we called a different dealership and spoke to the service department and explained the issue. We were told to disconnect the car battery and reconnect. Lol. Ugh, nope this boomer couple were not going to do that. May of 2025, received a warranty recall from Subaru corporate. That letter explained the software for radio, gps and air conditioner needed to be repaired or replaced. During the repair, a hole in the oil pan and the alternator needed repair. Car was sold immediately upon repair. I know many, many people who've had or are driving Subaru's other than the Ascent.....no issues. I believe this dealership knew the brake issue but did not want to repair. You can sell one unit but if your looking for honesty and repeat customer.....you lost me. Good luck!!!! read more

I ordered a 2025 Forester and made an appointment to pick it up. I had 3 salespeople that I spoke to over the course of the 2 months that I waited for it. I might add that I bought my 2017 Forester, new, from Parker Subaru that I was trading in. I was promised by the original salesperson $10,000 for the trade in , even though the Kelly Bluebook price listed it at $12,000 for the car with the mileage and condition it was in. All the service over the past 5years was done by Parker Subaru. The 3rd salesman reneged on the trade in and would only offer $7000. He said it needed new tires -it didn't, I just bought some 2 months ago. So they didn't look and they lied. There was no negotiation on the price, they didn't even try. I said I'd sell it on my own and they said they won't hold the car until I could sell it. Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience after waiting months. Parker probably didn't think I'd walk out, but I did. It's hard to believe that a returning customer was not given more courtesy and consideration. I won't ever give my business to Parker again. We bought our Subaru out of state so when we moved to the CDA area, we were worried we wouldn't find a good dealership with the same level of support we were used to. But we were pleasantly surprised that Parker Subaru in CDA was an even better experience than what we were used to. They have a super clean shop and it's staffed with very helpful and patient people. They did start to charge me when I had the service package, but i mentioned it, they looked it up and corrected it right away. The staff answered all my questions about the car and fixed things I didn't know needed fixing at no charge, still under warranty, and where aware of the recall for the fuel pump which I was about to mention. They also provide a voucher for a free car wash near by. The car wash is good quality. Every one from the people who answer the phone to the technicians and service people in the shop are very professional, nice and eager to help. Tried to rent a new Subaru Outback from Parker Subaru several months ago and ended up without a deal. I wasn't going to do a review but after talking to one of their own employees I have been convinced to leave a short review of their sales business. They do have a very good service department except they will try and up-sell you on services you really could get by without; for example telling you you have to replace the in side filter that filters your in cab air when you really don't need one. We had just under 10,000 miles on our car and they insisted we should replace it, they even call us twice to try and get us to come back and get it changed after we said now not at this time. The bigger disappointment was with the sales department. We have a 2022 Outback and we decided it would be a good time to trade up to a 2024 model lease while interest rates were low. We did our due diligence on pricing by looking up the Kelly Blue Book prices for trade ins and even checked on retail prices that 2022 Outbacks' were selling for at the time. We assumed that the trade-in offer would be less than the retail value knowing that Parker Toyota is a business for profit and that they have to make a profit to remain in business. Making a profit is fair; but making a huge profit is shameful. We were thinking that we would make a fair deal with them especially since the car was only 2+ years old in absolutely pristine condition, not a door ding the floor mates furnished by Subaru have not even been used and it only had about 12,000 miles on it, about half of what a 2 year old car should have on it. the young salesman was very good at listening and trying to work out a deal that would be fair for the dealership and fair for us as a returning customer (we had least the 2022 from them). The real trouble started when the sales manager got involved, he would not okay the fair deal we had worked out and in fact told our salesman that it didn't look like we were going to be able to business. We were within $500 of of leasing a new vehicle. Of course the sales manage wouldn't come out and face us personally he made the new young salesman do his dirty work. What makes this an even bigger disappointment is the way Mr. Parker and his daughter try to sell us on that they are a reasonable, FAMILY owed, dealership that worse with customers to make fair purchase deals. they really only care about making a big profit off every deal they can close. shame on the Parkers for trying to hoodwink the public with their dealerships. The last appointment was an oil change and inspection about 3 1/2 months previously. The car developed a scraping noise from one of the rear tires (maybe brakes). After a call to the service department and a review of the previous inspection from the appointment, the service representative indicated that it would be more than a week before they could schedule to look at the vehicle. my name is Owen S. I bought a Brand new limited wrx. An absolutely beautiful, remarkable car. But what i didn't know was everything I was told and shown and payed for that day purchasing my first new car by myself was how horrible and greedy these people are! they will say anything read it to you and tell you thats how it is with a few skips of paragraphs and a blah blah blah sign here.. I test drove a 2021 wrx and loved it immediately. Shawn Pike was the salesman who sold it to me, and Sam Shultz who financed me and played a 19 year old Kid, me. who worked hard for what he was purchasing that day and had no clue that what was being told and read off to me was complete and utter lies. "Walked" me through everything... sold me a 7 year 100,000 mile warranty for $2,715, and while just recently reading up on all this bs because my transmission blew up at 17,493 miles. With a 3year/36,000 mile drivetrain warranty that comes with every new car, and the one they obviously just robbed me for $2,715 with the warranties they sell and probably fool plenty more people with. It says in the contract that the name of the warranty would be changed from "Gold plus" coverage to "vehicle service contract", oh and look at that they are the same exact price! so it is very difficult to understand why you are paying that money. so this just toped it for me the reason im writing this is to ask if you would make this right! i will state the whole story of what happened and my experience. I was in mullan idaho on plowed and maintained road. Sam Shultz then sold me the at sticker price. Then the warranty they charged me for but, I couldnt use the warranty when it really came down to it. My transmission as I stated blew up at 17,493. It took subaru, and their roadside assistance four days my car sat up there on the side of the road in the elements and snow , for them to tell me after i couldve got it towed myself that they couldnt come get it and if they did it would be considered a recovery. So overall waste of time purchasing that. you know I really hate being so negative. But i really need to see if there are good people that still stick up to their word unlike the money hungry and straight up Desire just absolutely ruin a first time buying a car. So this warranty they charged me almost $3,000 for is completely useless. i firmly and assertively asked the tech, to SAVE, Save the parts so i can get another opinion on them, because they stated and I quote "customer advised and informed that vehicle has not been maintained nor driven in a manner that prolongs the vehicle, clutch, or transmission. Subaru of America's is based upon the data retrieved from the vehicle." (Tyler colin). "service advisor." Who i talked to on the phone regularly, and did not follow my very many explicit conversations about saving all fluids and parts SAVED TO GET 2nd Opinion, Not to mention overcharging me by putting multiple of the same parts on work order with the same names and part numbers but different prices and multiple of the same parts even though the transmission schematic which is on your website only states there are one of each of these parts each of these parts.. My question is why after the two months you told me over the phone that you will save them, you Throw away, or does nothing these people do or say have repercussion. So I go into parker after tyler had called me and told me my car was ready he, not even to my 3 year 36,000 mile warranty. My family has a little Mom and pops tire store in Kellogg, id. so i go right there and start looking at the work they said they did and what actually had been done. My car had been in to rebuild transmission. lets just say they did half of what they said they did i had brand new directional winter tires on the car i put them on and mounted them myself so i know they were correct when i had it towed in. After picking up and paying for the transmission cause they would not even trade me my warranty money for the transmission. so i payed for the transmission $3,381 for that which should've been covered in my warranty..! The tech also stated to me over the phone that i do not maintain or take care of my car but ive done every single oil change on that car myself before 3,000 miles. The tech also stated in one of our first conversations that my transmission fluid plug was loose and fluid was low from factory or employee of parker Subaru because I would never touch that transmission. let alone think it could possibly be low at 17,493 miles thats ridiculous. tech also stated that they denied my warranty becuase tyler collin stated and i quote he said this twice on a document that, my stock was 2.0l pushed 34 lbs of boost it states in my car peak is 24lbs, hit speed of 140 who says or where does it state that I cant legally drive that 140 not racing. I just want to have a civil conversation with representative or owner... to make this right! read more

After failing to change the clutch myself (always remember support the engine), I dropped my outback off for some emergency work. I should try and remain thankful because they allowed it to be stored until i had the requisite funds. However, for $800 just to remove the trans (i couldnt) I thought it should be mentioned that the bolts that hold the hood struts were placed in the wrong location... then the hood was closed. Needless to say it bent the hood badly. Then they werent even put back in the correct location. Not sure if they were mad because I refused the services they wanted to perform or just unknowledgable or careless but that pretty bad under ant circumstances. I wonder if they had loaner vehicles available the whole situation could have been avoided. Definitely not part of that subaru family anymore... recommend trying Spokane. What it has going for it: - good inventory of cars - salesmen seem to know their product - nice service waiting area - no pressure sales tactics - simple clean decor What it has going against it: - one of the newer salesman was kind of creepy So here is my background...I worked for both Lexus and Mercedes for a total of about 6 years. I know the ins and outs of dealerships and how they operate. I have also experienced both bad and good salesmen and dealerships when buying my own cars. This place overall seems to have it together. I dealt with manager more than the salesman when actually negotiating. He was more than upfront with me since my wife spilled the beans of my dealership experience., but I think he would be the same if you didn't work at a dealership before. Even though the have "Parker pricing" which is suppose to be their lowest price....I was able to get the price lower and 0% financing. So there is some wiggle room if you go at the right time (end of the year...bought my Legacy on Dec 31st). They always want to push out a few more cars at the end of year and are willing to go a little deeper in discounts (if paperwork is done by a certain time) They do have a captive market since they are the only Subaru dealership in the immediate area, but don't act like it. Will update review if need be when I start using their service department. read more

The car was taken back in because of the grinding metallic sound coming from the front end. Took my Subaru in for a small repair. As usual, they give you a list of 20 other things that need to be done asap. One of them was a very expensive 90K Mile service and all that go's with it. I told the service manger that I had the 90K service done elsewhere 9 months ago. His response, "well...that's what my technician is telling me". I took it back to the original place, they checked everything and said it all looked good...did not need any off the work Subaru was saying it needed. I wonder if Subaru really checked the individual items or just decided since they hadn't done the 90K service it must need it. Great way to make money from folks who aren't paying attention!! I took my car to Parker Subaru the place I bought my car at and and it felt like a big runner round this morning. Here's what they said corporate corporate Subaru isn't going to have many loner vehicles anymore they want you to rent a car. With the economy and the inflation and you're taking your car in to get it looked at why in God's name would somebody rent a car. I've always have been able to get a Loner car. It finally took talking to the service department manager He got me a loner car. I didn't have to pay I didn't have to rent. The whole start up of all of this was I was I was gonna have to pay for a rental car and again I purchased my car from Parker Subaru, When I got there it took 2 people to help me and then "a advisor. It felt like they were the males I was a stupid female and didn't know what the h*** I was talking about. Little did I know Little did I know They Test drove my car when I pulled in my gas tank was just aTest drove my car when I pulled in my gas tank Almost at that full mark. When I got my car back it was just a smidgen before tbefore the half tank. I asked if they would fill the tank since they drove the car for a test drive I don't even know where they went to. The adviser told me no we do not fill up people's cars so again with inflation the Web is prices of every thing I had to spend another $20 on my car to fill it up when it was d*** near filled to begin with. My one star is for the employees there that have always been profesional and kind to me. That being said, I will never take my vehicle here for services again. I have had over $3000 worth of work done on my vehicle there and asked for them to "take care of everything needed" they said they looked over the entire car and this is what was needed. Few weeks back I crawl under my car and gas is leaking from the tank, so I bring it in to them again ( this is months later and not their fault, though it should have been noticed). They ran diagnostics and quoted me $6500 give or take depending on what all would break during their time working on it. I asked them for a detailed list of what all needed to be done. It did not look right so we showed it it a different mechanic and they told me to get it out of there immediately. It has now been fixed for $1,200... and the mechanic said he is almost certain they made that number up to try and get me to do a trade in. I have no problem with putting money into my car and paying for work needed but this was ridiculous. read more

Had a block heater installed on my Subaru and got the interior/exterior detail. I called this Subaru and the Subaru in Spokane. Both shops were busy when I called and took my number to call me back. Parker Subaru promptly returned my call and gave me a quote and scheduled an appointment. I attempted to call the Subaru in Spokane several more times and was never able to get a quote, no one ever called me back. We arrived a little early for our scheduled. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Offered us a ride, we had family coming so they let us wait in the lounge and offered us coffee. No problems with the block heater. We had an unexpectedly amazing experience here! "Unexpected" because we are from out of state, had an urgent service need, and Parker Subaru just happened to be the closest dealer. We were 500+ miles from home, roadtripping, when multiple warning lights came on in our 2017 Outback. We cautiously drove 20+ miles to Parker Subaru, concerned that our trip had just ended abruptly with significant expense. The Service Department took us in right away (!), connected the car to their laptop technology, and immediately identified the problem - something the Servicing Manager expected when we first arrived - and explained our predicament: I had failed to firmly secure the gas cap during the last top-off, and the car was sensing a catastrophic failure of its normally closed-loop system. He patiently explained the problem which was quickly resolved by tightening the cap, and him resetting the multiple warning lights. We were back on the road within 20 minutes, more educated (and slightly more embarrassed) than when we arrived. No charge, just friendly, happy-to-have-helped smiles from the entire Service team! Great job - and much appreciated - from a great Subaru dealer! read more
