MidTown MotorWorks deserves 10 stars in my opinion. We have been bringing our Jeep Gladiator and Ford Raptor to them and they are the most honest, genuine, mechanics that I've ever met. We recently traded in our Raptor for a Suburban and this morning when I got in the Suburban, the drivers side windshield wiper didn't work. I called MidTown MotorWorks and he said to swing by and that he would look at it. He literally fixed it right there on the spot for me and didn't even charge me. My twin sister takes her Suburu here too and she's always impressed with them. By far the best place to take your car. I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

I had a clutch done at 40,000 miles had a warranty at 88000 miles I had to take it back to get another clutch. he says come back I will not do it but labor is not free but I will replace the parts. so I end up towing the car there 250$ tow and than he calls says it's not just clutch its fly wheel needs replaced and new starter so I end up paying 1570$ when I come to pick it up they have it started I thought how odd but ended up driving it home I shut it off and it makes this really loud wheezing sound besides the clutch not going into second gear so the clutch isn't done at all, when you start it smells burning and I call him he says it's all normal and hangs up on me. do not take your car to this place they don't hold up on there word and lie. read more

These guys royally screwed up a motor installation on my 1990 Ford Bronco. They did not check or replace the old fuel, which is pretty common practice on any old car. As a result they whipped out the injectors which were just cleaned, sent me out with a bad misfire and the truck needed to be towed to another shop for another $4900 in work. Also common practice with old cars is replacing the radiator and pressure checking the cooling system which they did not do. I had a leaking heater core which MidTown missed and the radiator immediately sprung a leak when the next shop pressure checked it. I asked them to replace the radiator, ironically enough. Scott threatened to sue me if I made the video public, which I did. You can find it on Youtube. Then Scott threatened to "pound me if I did not leave" Avoid this shop at all cost. This is the worst shop out of dozens which I have done business with. read more

Absolutely hands down 100% trustworthy. I was traveling through Coeur d Alene and needed some spark plugs put in my Toyota Sienna as well as a tire rotation. Felt comfortable talking on the phone during my initial call, and felt the same comfort when I walked in the door. They delivered on everything they promised at a very reasonable price. Got me in and out quickly, explained all the work they did, and were very friendly and accommodating throughout the whole process. This review is unsolicited. Niko was great. He checked out a 2009 Porsche Cayman from a nearby porsche dealer. He confirmed that the dealer was honest. But he also went much deeper than the dealer. He also had one of his mechanics look it over. Very likable, easy going, easy to talk to as I am a non expert. He is definately dependant from dealers. And his quote was lowered after I accepted the higher price! This guy is in business to stay in business. Could not be more satisfied. read more

The two guys that run this place are probably the world's most honest mechanics. I brought my very old, very rusty vehicle in to have the exhaust looked at and repaired. They took a look at it (and had me take a look at it, too) and explained that the thing was so rusted out that I would be wasting my money if I tried to repair it. They were also really friendly and easy to deal with, but I think the best thing is that they were straight with me and didn't charge me anything to look at my vehicle. They made no money from me, but I definitely know where I will take my vehicle if it breaks down, and where I will tell my friends to go. If you are within an hour of this place (I'm 45 minutes away myself), there is no where else you should take your vehicle. read more

My girlfriend met the owner by chance right after my **** **** went out. He was drunk and told her his shop would beat any price in town. Free diagnostics and free towing if it was close by (5 blocks). I called him the next day and arranged for him to tow my car. He showed up in his buddy's truck with a tow rope and asked for my keys. 4 hours later I hadn't heard anything. I politely called and asked the status. They just finished diagnostics. I asked for a rough quote before he started tearing my vehicle apart. 70 bucks for towing and 70 bucks for diagnostics. 70 bucks an hour for labor. 335 bucks for the part. I said I would call around to see if I could find the part cheaper. Then he said he would not warranty his work if I bought the part elsewhere. The shop's markup on the part was 75 bucks. I found another shop that would beat his labor costs by more than half. He brought his quote down a little to try and compete but was nowhere close. When the vehicle was finally done, he would only accept cash for payment and refused to give me a work order or receipt because he was under the impression we were going to "leave Uncle Sam out of it." Crooked, dishonest, overpriced, thieves. I hope you read this and weep Scott. If you had a shred of decency in your body you would drink a gallon of antifreeze right now. I just moved to the area and was looking for a new mechanic for my maintenance and repair needs. I'm very choosy and the first litmus test I use is the cleanliness and organization of the shop. If the shop is clean and organized, that means they take pride and are detail oriented, which will carry over to the care they will give your auto. Mid Town Motors excels in this area. Joseph and the staff I met are very professional. I brought my Jeep in for a basic oil change and tire rotation, and asked him to just give it a basic overall inspection. I'm very knowledgeable about cars and my Jeep in particular. The recommendations Joseph suggested matched exactly with what I knew my Jeep needed and he did not attempt to sell any unneeded maintenance. At my approval, he took care of the needed maintenance and was fine with my postponement of the more expensive but non-urgent maintenance items. At the end, my bill was very reasonable for the work performed, coming in just a bit under my own estimate I figured in my head. Overall, I'm very happy that I found a quality local repair shop for my future auto needs. read more

We were in North Idaho on vacation and stopped in Coeur d'Alene for lunch on my birthday. Came out of the restaurant, went to our car, no go. Thought dead battery, tried a jump, zip, zilch, nada. Based on or location (we were about 10 blocks away from Mid Town Motors) and 2 yelp reviews, we called them. Scott not only got us in, he came and got the car, so we didn't need a tow. We got to his shop at 4:30 (they close at 5) The car went straight into the shop, had 1/2 of the possible problems eliminated by five, had us on the road fixed with and oil change by noon the next day. Turned out to be an odd-ball problem with the ignition switch. All three of the guys there are fantastic! Customer service, fair price & great work!!!! Highly recommend them. If we lived there, would use them for our regular mechanics. They also work on classic cars and you know classic car owners are very picky about their babies. read more
