AMAZING!! If I could give 10 stars I would! Todd from Appleway Automotive is awesome and honest!! First of all, we were visiting from California and our AC broke the day we got here. We were going to be here a month and it was hot so we needed it repaired. A perfect scenario for a mechanic to rip us off and believe me, they tried. We took our car to Silverlake Automotive on Sherman to start. We just asked them to check the AC. They of course came back with "looking over" the whole car and giving us their recommended fixes, including our AC. It was $7800 worth of "repairs" and $3200 of that was for the AC clutch, flush, etc. but they made the mistake by telling us that they looked at our carfax to see what repairs and services we had done to determine their recommendations. Mind you our truck is a 2015 that we bought brand new and it only has 48k miles so not sure how they came up with some of their recommendations. One of the recommendations we literally got done before we left on our road trip to Idaho so I knew it was BS. They also told me they needed to do the flush and extra stuff for them to "guarantee" their work so basically you are paying extra for their guarantee. I felt ripped off. We had to pay them $200 for the analysis though, but I knew we only needed the AC clutch and compressor repaired and also researched that they can tell if your lines are contaminated to where they would know if they needed to flush the lines. With that being said I submitted that analysis and quote here on yelp and it was sent to a few mechanics in the area. They all came back with less quotes but still expensive. Like $2k-$2200 and I had researched it really should not cost more than $1800 on the high end. I called Appleway Automotive based on other reviews and they said he was honest to a fault so I called them and talked to Todd. I told him I needed the AC clutch and compressor done and asked if he could give me a quote over the phone. He had no problem doing that and ge also confirmed he would be able to tell if the lines would need to be flushed. He quoted me $1200. He was no BS. He made an appt for me a day and half later and said he needed my car for a day and got it done same day and didn't even call me to tell me I needed to flush the lines. When we dropped it off, he didn't try to do the small talk "I'm going to rip you off" nice talk they all do. I cannot say enough about his service and would highly recommend. I even sent my in-laws to him the next week as they were visiting and had some repairs that needed to be done but had the same issues we had with mechanics trying to require more than really needed to be done! Todd mentioned that he can't compete with all of these other companies advertising and reviews mean the world to him so this is me helping him out for helping us save $2k. Thank you Todd!! read more

Honest to a fault, which is a rarity these days, especially in the auto repair industry. Manager has decades of experience and is more knowledgeable than most. They recommended a less expensive service to fix an electrical issue with my car, and it completely resolved the problem. They have earned a customer for life. read more

The present owner, who has taken over the business, has hired a bunch of incompetent people who lack integrity. My retired firefighter dad took his truck in to get new plugs and wires. It took them all day, with a appointment. They didnt even call to say that the truck was done. My dad showed up. He took the truck for a drive. It wasnt fixed. He stopped by a couple auto stores and got a read out. He then, had to take it back to them and they said they fixed it. The so called mechanics dont know that certain trucks need coils. My dad asked them why they didnt put coils in it. They said because my dad "didnt tell them to". He asked them "didnt they take the truck for a test drive to see if it was fixed?" Once again they said because again my dad didnt tell them too. Since when does someone need to be told how to do their job? Completely unprofessional, yes the owner did call back and fixed the problem but this should have never gotten this far. They definitely need a "book mechanics for dummies". There are some very basic things that a mechanic should do, like check their own work, and make sure that the part that they are putting in, matches the type of part that they are taking out. read more

My tow vehicle suddenly started telling me that my brake pads needed service. It happened that we were camping in Coeur d'Alene for a few days so we could get the problem checked out. Mom and Pop tire place that I don't see myself going back to. What it has going for it: - it's a Mom & Pop establishment What it has going against it: - customer areas are dirty - rep that help me did seem like he wanted to sell me tires - way more expensive than similar establishments So was looking to get snow tires for a Subaru Legacy I just picked up. Spent day driving to different place to get prices on a certain make and model of tire (Michelin X-Ice's). First this out of this guys mouth "Michelin's suck!"....yet they have a huge Michelin sign in front of their store (it's so big I thought it was like a factory store). Guy had no interest in dealing with me. I really try to go mom & pop but not for this type of service and for about 30% more than what I can get the exact same tire down the road. Only reason I didn't just give this place a 1 star is that it is a mom & pop place. Don't ever see myself coming here again read more

Went in to get my snow tires put on. Showed up first thing in the morning and there was no line. They took my car right away and were done in about 35 minutes. The lounge area had comfortable seats, popcorn, and drinks. If you're really hungry while you're there, Carls Jr literally next door. Im definitely going back to this place in the future. They do good honest work. They also charged me ten dollars less than the big chain stores wanted for the same job. read more

I am so glad that I found this place!! Such nice people!! Honest too!! I thought I needed all new brakes but turns out I only needed my rear brakes serviced, thought I needed new tires immediately too but I found out I've got at least another 6-8 months on them! Which was great news because it buys me more time! I was given a very good tire quote, best in town after I called around. I was shown my brakes and he explained to me the exact details of everything. They have a nice waiting room, coffee, tv, close to restaurants so you can walk to them while your car is being serviced. All around good place!! Great prices! I was glad not to be lied to because I obviously didn't know much about brakes and tire tread. They do not take advantage and that's a rarity these days! I called them on Saturday, they were very nice and polite. He ordered tires and gave us a time to be there on Monday. He didn't ask for a credit card like most places to put a down payment on a tire order. My girlfriend took her car in at the time specified and was super happy with their service. Very professional, nice, and friendly. Instead of the normal waiting room type feel of everyone grumpy about the amount of time it's taking, she said everyone was happy and being well cared for.
