My daughter presented with acute sinusitis. She was seen by the NP on duty and was asked about allergies, and any other pre-conditions, and why she was at the urgent care. My daughter was clear in stating she did not feel this was allergic response since she's had sinus infections in the past (has a history of them) and knows the difference. She also stated that her sister whom she lives with also had a sinus infection the prior week. The NP did an examination and decided this was seasonal allergies, and prescribed steroid spray and recommended she also try Nasacort to reduce the inflammation. When we pushed back on the diagnosis requesting she consider it might bacterial, this NP became very defensive. She said it couldn't be bacterial because the discharge was clear. (This is not an accurate way to determine if the cause is a bacterial infection!) When I asked if she considered the family history, her father (me) has a long history of sinus infections and has had surgery to correct these issues, and both she and her siblings also have recurring sinus infections. While she does have some allergy related issues, the regional allergy site posted that grass was the only allergy related issue and she is not allergic to grass pollens. So we requested she reconsider the diagnosis. She refused and stated familial history is irrelevant!! Our pharmacist even questioned the combination of medications prescribed and said - " XX just had a sinus infection and was prescribed amoxicillin. Why didn't they do the same here?" Why? Because XX went to the Convenient MD Urgent Care in Windham NH and not Parkland, which is where we will make sure we are always visiting from now on! This NP was not only unprofessional but as she continued trying to defend herself it became clear she was slightly not only unwilling to admit she might have been wrong but that she didn't need to know family history or other related issues around this sinus issue because the discharge was clear and in her 30 years of medical practice she'd never seen a sinus infection with clear discharge! When I asked who the attending physician was - she questioned me and suggested she was in charge. When I told her there had to be an MD who was the director or supervisor for the Urgent Care she then gave me the name of the Attending in the ER, and said he was the director, but was not in the facility. DO NOT GO TO PARKLAND URGENT CARE if you want to be treated professionally and not be medically compromised! We are headed to Convenient MD in Windham next! read more

Absolutely disgusting...my son got a fish hook stuck in his finger from camp. The other Urgent Cares said they didn't handle that -- suggesting we go to the ER or Parkland ER. We didn't want a long wait time, and figured it would be cheaper on our insurance to go to the Parkland ER. BIG MISTAKE! While the service was fine, we were told to pay our insurance co-pay upfront for an ER visit. So, we were surprised to get a bill for hundreds of dollars. My husband just called me saying that visit - which was a simple pop out of the hook - cost $11,000!!!! We still owe $700. I don't know what they are running there, but it looks like a scam. This is an excellent facility. However If you do not have health insurance DO NOT GO THERE. I had taken someone there who paid cash for a visit and never told they would be billed separately for the MD. That is incredibly unfair to do to anyone. They say there is a sign on the wall. We never saw that sign and were mislead. It is a shame as the health care workers there are excelled. Be aware and choose an urgent care that will be honest with you. read more

As another poster noted, it is costly without insurance. At the Urgent Care, they make no mention of the "two-bill" system -- $150 for walking in the door, and a month later, the fun surprise of a phone message about a separate provider fee. Their explanation is that it's written on a wall or in the fine print? Not good enough, I'm afraid. Say it before any service rendered! The place is very clean and waits are short. Unfortunately, my (NP?) was not current on medical studies for recurrence of my skin problem. Rather than provide the related prescription, they recommended I go for a skin scrape -- a costly and unneeded test for such a visually obvious condition. Parkland Urgent Care in Salem is my go to walk in medical provider when my Primary Care isn't available. The staff are professional and caring, the facility is well maintained and very clean and it has an added benefit of being connected to Salem Radiology for additional services when available. Holly Cabell NP is straightforward and reassuring. She provides medical care and has a nice sense of humor to help calm the nerves. Dianna the RN is very relatable and efficient. Overall I have used this in times I couldn't see my doctor and feel like I experienced great medical care. One more note, Holly was so helpful in our consultation, she provided me several short videos regarding my concerns which I found very helpful. I traveled from the West Coast to New Hampshire for a wedding when unexpectedly my Sciatia went off the charts~ needless to say, walking a few steps without excruciating pain was a feat in itself. Initially I thought the Hospital ER was my best option until I came across Parkland Urgent Care. The faculty is clean and quite nice(it's ok to ring the bell to let time know you're in the lobby Lol) I was warmly greeted by the warm happy smile of Bridgette who seamlessly handled the registration & after a super quick process, I was taken back right away. Shortly thereafter I got to meet the RN Laura who has a bigger than life personality, very knowledgeable and added to my peace of mind that I was under the right care. We were than joined by the Nurse Practitioner Holly Cabell who listen to what was going on, examined and checked my symptoms without hesitation. She put together a simple plan we could start on the spot, prescribed a few medications along with an injection and today I feel like a new woman! I got into an auto accident on I-93 this week. I was rear ended and I am FINE. Everyone said "go get checked out" so I did. I went to Parkland Urgent Care instead of going to a ER. Parkland was easy and no hassles. They were able to bill my auto insurance claim (hopefully) directly which is good. In my quick visit, I saw intake at reception, 2 nurses, and 1 MD, all who were pleasant and professional. Parkland is linked some how to my primary PCP so that is good too. The next day, a customer service rep called me to check in and see how I was doing as well as to get feedback on my visit. I was happy to tell them. I would return. read more

Once again I found myself in need of urgent care on a weekend. And once again Parkland Urgent Care was the place I chose to go! The staff is always exceptional. So kind and caring. Dawn at the front desk was so helpful and sweet. She had me checked in in minutes and took me right to an exam room. Then Laura, the nurse on duty was in right away and was so concerned that I was in distress. She was just so kind. Got my vitals and tested my sample in no time. Then Holly Cabell, my NP came right in. Confirmed my diagnosis, dispensed medication to help my pain, and prescribed needed antibiotics. From start to finish I was treated with such compassion and kindness. And they are all friendly and easy to talk to. I was also in and out in about 35-40 minutes. This is wham-bam, drive-through health care in service to the highest profit. Read the other reviews that address their billing practices. My experience is the same, but I read them too late! This place tells you your insurance is accepted - then weeks later they surprise you with a bill from a second company, Stiles Road Emergency Physicians. Try talking to someone about the charges, there's no one at the facility to address those problems. In a time when we most need to trust our healthcare providers, this place is not trustworthy! Parkland urgent care is phenomenal. It is my go to clinic for my family when something unexpected happens. I have been there several times and have always had a fantastic experience. I was there yesterday with my son who had an injury, and Holly, Roger and Jordan were caring, attentive and knowledgeable, as ALWAYS. Over the years, they have provided exceptional care and diagnostic ability. The facility also can provide imaging, which is a huge plus! Giving this place a 1 star is only because of the cleanliness of the property. I went in twice on 2 different occasions both for a tick bite. 10 months after the first 30 second appointment I received a random bill in the mail for $354. This is after I paid my copay and $128 that I was billed for in a timely manner. Not long after that I received a bill for the second visit (3 months past the visit) for $252. Again, I had already paid $128 for this visit. I wrote them an email to dispute the charges and they took over a month to respond that they would look into it. Another month later and they responded with - you owe it we will not budge. I will not be back and I will tell everyone I know to go to other local urgent care facilities. read more

I went to Parkland Urgent Care in Salem, NH after scratching my cornea. I first went to Convenient MD, but there were 12 people ahead of me, so I opted for Parkland, and I am so glad that I did. Michelle (NP), Laura (RN) and Asley (desk) were all amazing and made me feel comfortable and cared for. I was out of there within the hour. They eased my pain and prescribed antibiotics. I was really nervous about going to an urgent care due to the pandemic, but all of my fears and concerns were quickly dismissed when I arrived at Parkland Urgent Care. I was greeted by Bridget at the front desk and she was friendly and quickly got me in to see Laura the RN and Michele the NP. It's too bad. The nurses are great, but the physicians in this practice are miserable. First off, you get two bills - one for the facility from Parkland, then one for the physicians practice (no kidding). We ran into trouble with the physicians bill - the physicians office indicated upon arrival that they were in network for our insurance. After receiving multiple bills and making multiple phone calls, it turns out that our insurance carrier disagreed and indicated that the practice was not accepted to the network at the time of service. The worst part is, however, there is no one responsible at the physicians office to speak with -- they work every thing through 3rd parties. So, when you call to work out an issue like this , you end up dealing with a billing office located in some unrelated suburban office complex - the doctor is nowhere to be found. The doctors wasted no time in sending their erroneous billing to a collection agency who then proceeded to harass us. I finally got my insurance company on the phone to speak directly to the billing company(why it became my responsibility to play office manager is beyond me). The insurance carrier and the office are supposed to be resolving the issue, but the practice didn't notify the collection agency and we are still being harassed. Given the time and aggravation over this single visit, I would argue that the physicians owe me money. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Better yet, schedule an appointment with your primary care doctor and save some $$. read more

Came here a few weeks ago when I was very sick. The nurse and doctor were excellent. They tended to my every need and made sure that I was going to leave better than when I came in. I had gone to a minute clinic the day before when my sickness was still at its peak and the NP there sent me home with nothing. When I went to Parkland Urgent Care, they could see how sick I was and did not brush me off when the initial tests they took came back negative. They gave me medicine and fluids while there and sent me home with medication as well. The nurse, doctor and entire staff were amazing and extremely polite and nice. Just got a bill in the mail for $431. WOW. I only saw an NP for maybe 15 minutes when I was having an allergic reaction. They claim I saw a doctor. I used to work for a healthcare staffing company and I know what doctors make. $431 for 15 minutes when you didn't even use any medical supplies on me? Does that mean the doctor makes $1,600 an hour? My husband went here when he cut his finger-2o minutes (they were quick thus the 1 star rating!), a little glue and a band aid and they charged an ER visit--$1600!!! NP Holly Cabell has done it again!! She is absolutely hands down one of the most wonderful health providers I've ever had the pleasure of being taken care of. She is cut from a different cloth as they say. Her genuine kindness, love for her patients and personal concern for my well being speaks volumes! She's an absolute love! I just want to share my horrible experience at Parkland urgent care in Salem NH, My husband and I went there to have covid 19 test to go on vacation, neither one of us was sick, Nurse Practitioner Michele Peterson barged in room as the nurse was doing the test and said " I have to have face to face with you so I can bill your insurance company" I explained to her that I am not here to see any provider because I am not sick. she could care less, she cared about billing my insurance and collect money, 2 weeks later I got a bill and explanation of benefits showed that they billed my insurance for $800 and my husband insurance for $ 1000, the fact we both were there same day for just Covid 19 test. I called to express my concern and I was told that is how the billing has to be processed. Clearly they committed insurance fraud by billing at this level and billing at 2 different levels for me and my husband. at the end, they didn't care about us as much as they cared about collecting money. STAY AWAY from this place and don't ever get any care there. I have already submitted this case to attorney general office and I hope they will be investigated soon so they can stop this illegal billing and start caring about patient's health and well-being. read more

I went to this urgent care on 10/11/2018 with a fractured back from a bad fall. Everyone was extremely nice from the receptionist to the nurse to the nurse practioner and also the kind woman who took exrays of my back. For being in a lot of pain they made me as comfortable as possible and I so appreciated it. Highly recomend this urgent care. read more
