DR.Sylvan ,this doctor and team gone down hill no empathy or communication for disabled people…read more Sadly 06/21/25 I became a paraplegic with brain injury. It was very difficult for me to contact and get through to this office. Then 08/13/25 we had virtual exam and went over all medications during I informed him I was almost out of 2 real heavy narcotics. I continue to message almost every other day reminding them today 8/21/25 was the last. They did absolutely nothing for me didn't communicate informing me health insurance would not cover no talks of existing count to begin taper and no talks of alternatives. They left a 52 yo crippled guy to get off 75mg Oxycontin with no taper. And sadly I've been on phone all day and finally got through to a nurse who confirmed she sent order in for a one of my medications #30 count of Oxycontin which I choose to pay for for my well-being so I can probably taper down without major complications and when I called my pharmacy they never received anything. This hospital and especially this team should be reported to DPPC for neglect and sadly lieing. This is such an embarrassment to disabled people.

We arrived at the Emergency Department at approximately 4:15 AM, and after an incredibly long wait, we were still there at 11:22 PM. I understand that emergency departments can become extremely busy and that wait times can vary based on patient needs. However, what concerned me most was not only the length of the visit, but the lack of communication, urgency, and compassion we experienced throughout the day. Earlier in the day, my boyfriend was seen by Dr. Dylan. Unfortunately, despite being in significant pain, his care seemed unnecessarily delayed. His CT scan and IV treatment were not initiated until after the shift change, leaving him waiting for hours while continuing to suffer. It felt as though valuable time had been wasted instead of moving forward with the necessary testing and treatment. Later, Dr. Schyla Wante came in to speak with us. She asked whether my boyfriend had health insurance. Since we were visiting from another state, I politely asked if she could check whether his MassHealth insurance was on file in the system. Instead of answering my question or attempting to assist, she responded, "I don't know, you need to ask him," and walked away while I was still speaking. I found this interaction to be dismissive, unprofessional, and lacking the compassion that patients deserve, especially in an emergency setting. As someone who previously worked in a hospital in Miami, Florida, I understand that healthcare professionals work under pressure. However, patient care is about more than providing medical treatment--it also includes communication, respect, empathy, and making patients and their families feel heard. Those qualities were noticeably absent during much of our experience. I would also like to recognize Nurse Becca, who was the one staff member who consistently demonstrated kindness, professionalism, and excellent communication. She made an otherwise frustrating experience much more manageable, and I truly appreciate the care she provided. I hope this feedback is taken seriously. Patients come to the emergency room scared, in pain, and looking for compassionate care. While I understand that delays can happen, there is no excuse for poor communication or dismissive behavior. I encourage the hospital to review this encounter and continue working to improve patient relations and the overall patient experience.
