If you can actually find your way to the entrance of the Moberly Sports Centre you deserve to get a job as a spy. I went here on Monday for a Parkour class. Parkour or free-running is sort of a sport where the main philosophy is the exploration of your (usually urban) environment in the most efficient but also artistically expressive way.
The class began with a 40 minute warm up which was a pretty hardcore workout before moving on to a series of 4 exercises aimed at improving particular parkour skills. The whole thing is mostly geared towards the tall, fit guys who have been doing this stuff for a while. Myself and my housemate were total begnners so were admittedly quite terrible at many of the things. However, we are both pretty fit, flexible and strong so it wasn't so much our fault as much as the class not really being suitable for beginners or short people despite it being advertised as so. That's why it only gets 3 stars, but if you're already good at this stuff then it might be a 4 or 5 star class.
We'll be going again as it's a punishing work out, but they are starting a beginners class in November which will likely be a much better option. But for £5, the two hour session is excellently demanding physical work and a pretty cool thing to be doing for a really cheap price. read more
