TLDR: Really terrific honest friendly reliable folks that have served San Francisco nearly forever! Very reasonable repair costs too. We have an old (20+ yo!) Washer Dryer combo, and one day, the washer would not start up anymore. We gave the folks at Parkside a call, and they came out the next day on time to evaluate the issue. It turned out that the circuit board was no good anymore. Even though the circuit board for our machine was no longer in production and no longer in stock at the manufacturer they were able to find me a direct replacement board to complete the repair. Way to go! Its been a few years now since this repair, but our washer/dryer has been happy again ever since! Update: We just called them up for a repair for a gas stove, and since they don't repair gas stoves (only electric ones and most all kinds of washer/dryers), they referred me to another trusted company for that. Rick and the team at Parkside were so amazing to work with. I ordered the wrong size gasket seal for our dryer drum and we didn't discover this until Rick had pulled the drum off. Rick helped me order the correct one direct from the manufacturer's (Sears/LG) website, and two days after the part arrived, Rick was back to attach it. Rick did not recharge me for the service fee on this second visit, which was extremely generous. Before calling Parkside, I had read the raving reviews and I wanted to add mine too. Not only great service and reasonable prices, it's like a Sunset district institution. A family-run, no-nonsense company that specializes in washer-dryer repairs. Our clothes dryer stopped working and we learned the landlord would not repair it, even though it was in the apartment when we moved in. So, before buying a new unit, I checked out Parkside and they saved us a lot of money, and I think the old dryer is probably better than a new one would be. They should have a brass plaque commemorating it as a SF treasure or something, it's the kind of place that' starting to disappear. read more

Just recently, my 30 y/o Kenmore washer had a nervous breakdown - multiple issues at once, and I began internet shopping for a replacement. I usually try to fix things myself. But I hadn't the patience for this dishwasher drain issue after a couple of attempts. Linda answered the phone at Parkside Appliance and went through a checklist of basic troubleshooting to help me avoid the cost of a service call. Based covered, or so I thought, I scheduled a replacement of the dishwasher drain pump. A couple of days later, Rick arrived and quickly discovered that the air gap was clogged. As he whisked away the debris, Rick lightly joked that I had done the hard part of clearing the drain, twice, and missed the easy fix. I was glad that I had overlooked that minor detail instead of having to replace a perfectly functioning pump. Called them for a repair to a washing machine in a rental property. I described the issue over the phone and was given a verbal estimate based on my rough description of the problem. Our tenant would be home for the appointment, so I left it to her and Parkside to schedule the most convenient time. Small issue with Parkside needing to reschedule, but not a biggie given Covid causing havoc for most businesses. Our tenant could not say more positive things about the worker and the process. The machine was fixed and I was billed LESS than the original quote. Turns out that the problem was an easier fix than anticipated, so they were honest enough to bill the true cost and not just default to the higher quoted cost. I called Parkside Appliance maybe a year ago or so about my washing machine which I was sure was malfunctioning. Upon hearing my description of the problem, they replied, No. that sounds like the way it's supposed to work. I wouldn't worry about it. Or words to that effect. This left me pretty impressed. Fast forward a year or so and a pastry brush had fallen down and gotten lodged in the heating element of our dishwasher, melting onto and fusing with the heating element. Parkside when I called replied that they would likely have to replace the element, after which all would be well, so we scheduled a time for them to come out. When Rick arrived, after graciously rescheduling our appointment due to an emergency medical office visit my wife suddenly required, he opined that he could probably just scrape the melted brush off the heating element and all would be well, and sure enough, it was! Honesty and competence like this just seem to be rarer and rarer these days, so I was mightily impressed to experience both on a single visit. Parkside rates my whole-hearted endorsement, hands down! She listened to my issue with the dishwasher, and after some discussion, suggested that it might make more sense to get a new one (it's super old). I really appreciate the fact that they were looking in my best interest vs. just sending someone over to do a repair that could have ended costing more money and/or headaches for me. My washing machine I purchased in 1998 stopped agitating. I called Parkside & also left a message on Yelp. Linda was extremely nice & told me Tom had passed so they were very busy but Rick would try to get over as soon as possible. I also called another shop & was told they were also very busy & would get back to me. I went to my brothers house to do my laundry so I was okay with waiting. Using his new machine also confirmed my decision that I wanted my machine fixed. On Wednesday the other repairman showed up as he had a cancellation. He was able to fix the machine. An hour later Rick came by as I had missed his call. I explained I just got the machine fixed. I had the parts that were broken on the machine so he did look at it & confirmed the part did need to be replaced & it was good the other person had the part. He was very kind & informative & not at all upset someone else fixed the machine. In the future I will definitely call Parkside if I need my machine repaired. read more

I've called on Parkside Appliance Service for all our appliance repair needs. Its a family operation with fair prices. Sister Linda schedules all the service calls and invoicing. Brother Tom does alot of the washer & dryer repairs. Their father and another brother are also active on service calls. They do not charge for unnecessary repairs and will tell you if a new machine is best rather than repair. I appreciate their customer service and their knowledge of commercial appliances especially for rental properties! :) They don't do refrigeration work :( read more

We had some water pooled in the bottom of our dishwasher. I had cleaned out the filters as advised on YouTube but the water was still not draining. I called Parkside Thursday morning and got an appointment for the next day Friday at 5pm. Two youngish men showed up who then proceeded to push the cancel button on the dishwasher and loosen the air gap on top of the sink. The top on the air gap popped off and then out came a clump of something. The dishwasher drained and the problem was solved within 90 seconds. Parkside Appliance charged me $98.50. They accept cash or check only. The men who came by were super nice but I'm suffering a little bit from sticker shock. I am assuming their base rate for just a visit is $98.50. read more
