Parents please Pay attention to my review. DO NOT BRING YOUR KIDS TO THIS SCHOOL !!!!!! This school…read moreis by far the very worst school I've ever had to deal with. We move the the area and unfortunately my son had to attend this school not knowing this was going to turn into our worst nightmare it started all by my son getting bullied and the principal didn't do anything neither did MR.Rodriguez I contact them multiple times to let them know I even had to call San Jose police because my son was being punch, pinched and called all kinds off names by this fucker and they wouldn't do anything this kids took stuff from him and never returned it and one of the people at the office mention that one time I kid lost his backpack for more then a week also and they wouldn't do anything about it not to mention this kid lost this backpack by the same kids , it was all a group of 12/13 kids all together who were bulling. So I went to the district smh also lost a lot of days of work for nothing they didn't do anything they send me back to the principal to try to find a solution never did, she never reached out to me at all and when I decided to call sj police department she told them she had never heard of this problem before when I sat down in her office two times to "try to find the so cal solution". So I decided to not sent my kid to school as he didn't feel safe there at all I have pictures of all the text messages he sent me saying "mom I wanna go home I don't feel safe here this kids hits me every time he sees me" also have the police report and all that is included. TODAY the graduation day they could notify me that my son could participate in the graduation ceremony not to mention my son struggled alot with his grades going down cus of this kid so after all this hard work at home with him home schooling and testing he did picked up his grades and all for them not to count him for the graduation ceremony. Thanks alot Mr.Rodríguez for not letting me know of this very important day that my son was not a part of it as they told me today at the office you mention my son but never called us to let us know so thanks for doing your so call job. hope your kids never go thru something like this. I'm glad school year is over this means our nightmare with David's has ended and I hope my son can recover and can move on from this trauma so he can continue a normal school year David's you have traumatized my son. never I'm my life I will let any of my family members come to your school. If I could rate you guys -10 I would definitely doit it.

I remember like it was yesterday when I went here running on the track around the school for cross country, but it has literally been a decade since I've gone here. Forming a team to spend a day in a tent on the track supporting Relay for Life with friends and strangers. I could remember dressing up for physical education through the purple doors with our lockers. Girls on the right side and boys on the left. Lining up on our numbers while Mrs. Staggs or Mr. Coleman or Mr. Carroll did attendance then telling us to go run the "Carroll Run" around the perimeter of the black top, to the track, the grassy area, and back to the beginning. I remember hanging out in the "quad" area with the cool kids during breaks and lunch. Getting in line for food right after we got out of class into either the cafeteria or outside to get snacks. It was really the carefree times. Many people may think Davis isn't a good school based on what they've heard, but teachers are wonderful. They really try to help you succeed and prepare you for high school. Many good and bad memories with great teachers here. Counseling and office staff were friendly. I was even was counseling assistant for a semester for Mr. Delcrew. I remember having Mr. Nichols/Mrs. Meier for language arts. Mr. Conwell for keyboarding class. Mrs. Williams for cooking. Mr. Morgan for piano. Mrs Lawrence/Mr. Weiler for science. Mrs. Flores for social science. Mr. Hughes for pre-algebra. Mrs. Bierman for algebra. Mrs. Shilov for history. Mrs. Perry/Ford for reading. Plenty of teachers I remember, but surely don't remember me since it has been 10 years or might not even be at the school anymore. I even remember getting detention for the most idiotic thing. It was a time when we weren't allowed to wear gang colors blue or red (probably worse now with all the mayhem happening or same rules apply), but also not allowed to have logos or pictures on our shirts. I had a baby blue shirt on with an angel in the center. I had to go to the office to change into a rather large ugly lost and found shirt. Embarrassing. Disgusting. Fun times. Worse memory was stopping class for several periods to watch television in class while 9/11 happened in New York. It was just a shocking and devastating moment in our lives. Overall, I miss it! Back in the day when we had no worries. Now from time to time, I utilize the track running.

My experience with Andrew Hill High School and portions of the district administration was deeply…read moredisappointing and emotionally exhausting as a parent. Over an extended period of time, I repeatedly attempted to seek help, intervention, guidance, and family reunification support involving my daughter and concerns connected to school staff boundaries and communication. Instead of meaningful intervention, I often felt dismissed, minimized, and left without clear direction regarding procedures, parental rights, escalation processes, or who was ultimately responsible for helping resolve the situation. One of the most frustrating parts of this experience was the inconsistency in communication and decision-making. At different times, parental approval and involvement were clearly recognized and required for school-related decisions, extracurricular participation, transportation matters, and documentation. However, when I attempted to assert concerns and objections regarding my daughter's living situation and involvement with school staff, those concerns were repeatedly treated as a "private matter." As a parent, that contradiction was extremely difficult to understand and navigate. I also believe there were significant failures involving communication, escalation procedures, staff boundaries, trauma-informed response, and family reunification efforts. No parent should have to fight this hard simply to be heard while asking for help involving their child. The emotional impact extended beyond my own family and affected multiple students and families connected to the school environment. I will say there are individual staff members who clearly care about students, and I recognize that schools handle difficult situations every day. However, my overall experience exposed what I believe are serious weaknesses in policy clarity, procedural consistency, and parent communication. My hope is that lessons are learned from situations like this and that stronger training, clearer procedures, better communication with families, and more appropriate escalation protocols are implemented moving forward. I am sharing this review because I believe parents deserve transparency regarding how difficult situations may be handled and because I hope future families receive more support, clarity, and intervention than mine did.

In today's world, with so much hate, the last thing we need is actively teaching hate at school!…read moreValley Christian Junior High School is one of the only religious schools that is not open to the LGBTQ+ community. Parents have been reminding them that Jesus loves EVERYONE for several years, but the administrators will not listen. They actively teach that being gay or trans is wrong, making some students feel that their very existence is wrong. How can kids learn, when they are made to feel that way? You might think, "well, I can just teach my children that that being gay is OK. That's what our family believes." Well, it is not that easy. Kids walk away with a bias against LGBTQ+ people. Some boys there call some kids "tranny" and "gay" as an insult, followed by "I'm going to kick your ass after school." Sadly, the high school principal says that his school takes the same stance as the middle school. I have been thinking about how to phrase this post for a long time, because the school's stance hurts us deeply, as people who believe in God. If you switch to a public school, you will likely be behind in math and have to play catch up. So, you can get excellent grades and meet some good friends, but you will likely fall behind in math, and feel miserable about school. You have to be a very specific type of person with a narrow view to feel accepted and happy at Valley. During these very formative middle school years, is this what you want your child to walk away with?

We could tell he cares a ton about his school, and he works hard and hustles to provide the resources and connections to make Stipe as great a school as possible, something we have continued to see now as parents of a kindergartner attending the school. We also liked the kindergarten teachers, Mr. Enna and Mrs. Hernandez, we met during the tour, and we have been extremely happy with our decision to have our kindergartner attend Stipe and learn from one of these great teachers we met during the tour. The classes are interactive, fun, and they do a great job of having guest speakers and tech resources from local Silicon Valley companies, which makes the learning experience really exciting for us as parents get to see our kid go through. We love the idea behind STEAM, (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) and the focus on hands on and collaborative learning, something we thought would be pretty cool for our young kid to start focusing on, especially in this day and age. Like I said, Stipe does a great job with incorporating modern technology into their curriculum, even having guest speakers from big local companies like Apple and Cisco speak to the students. If you haven't considered a STEAM school, I would recommend at least looking at the program at Stipe. Go on a tour and see if you like it. We're a little more than halfway into the year, and we're extremely pleased with our decision to pick Stipe even though it's not our home school. The staff is great, the parents are great. Give it a shot!

    * NEGATIVE REVIEW ALERT!!…read more This review is not about the school's academic quality nor the performance. This is about the organizers for tonight's Dance event (01/13/24). I gave this school 5-star because my kids go here and it's a good school overall Dear the Dance Organizers for tonight event (01/13/24) To kindly and professionally put: YOU SUCK! We bought tickets (4) and came at 5:45pm, only to see the gates were locked with no signs. There were a lot of other kids standing outside with tickets like us and we were all confused as how to get it. 1. If you decided NOT to let people in for whatever reason ... basic common sense: PUT UP A NOTICE TO ADVISE THE SITUATION! Seeing a lady busy counting ticket money behind locked doors and ignoring us standing on the other side of the glasses are classless and rude. 2. If you sell X amount of tickets, you should have X amount of seats to accommodate the buyers. We knocked on the door and finally a lady came out telling us there is no more seats/spaces. I asked "Why?" and the answer was "Well, blame it to the kids who do not have tickets and came in with their friends" Well, I do not blame them. I blame YOU: the adults who do not know the basic rule of ticketing at gate and allowed this situation happened. Not accepting accountability and blamed it on the kids are not good image. Do not expect my empathy with this answer! 3. "Don't worry! You will be refunded for the tickets you bought"...How little did you know this is not about the $ or tickets. It's about missing the opportunity to see and support my kids' performance, which happened once in a lifetime. It was ruined and taken away by your poor organizing skills and lack of transparency/honesty and communication. 4. "We didn't expect it to be crowded this year. Last year only 70 showed up"... How in the world you can organize a big event with this mentality? In the end, you still messed up by not doing crowd control and ticketing correctly. We drove 45 mins to come and support my kids' dance and were sent away because of this BS. "Disappointed" is an understatement. Don't expect this to get to the school's office but if it does, I sincerely ask you to review this event so future event(s) won't suffer the same horrible result. (Heading to find something to eat to ease the frustration)

I accidentally went the wrong way, but there's no signs or anything painted on the ground to tell me I was going the wrong way. Some other car honked at me, then blamed their horn, and I couldn't reverse down what seem to be the one way road. I really wish they would've painted the road so I would have known ahead of time or at least had signs up letting me know ahead of time it was a one-way. Field is rather nice for football. Granted it's right next to the freeway so I really worry about the children/students exposure to gas and smog pollution. But this particular time we were inside for the wrestling tournament and they had five mats out in their gym. They also had two different Locker room areas for the students and a pretty decent PA system for the announcements. They also had a separate student center area where they were selling food. Everything was hot and fresh and the wrestling tournament went rather fast considering I've been to seven of them, and they all seem to take hours, this one was actually done around 4 PM! We got there at 6:30 AM, so I was really happy. I wasn't there until midnight like I was For the Santa Cruz tournament. Lol.
