I happened to be in the neighborhood of B&D Indoor Range/Gun Shop and decided to stop by and buy a couple of boxes of 9mm ammo just to have at the house. I went inside and waited to speak with the sales person behind the counter. When I asked to buy 2 boxes of ammo he stated, "Unless You Buy a Gun Today We Won't Sell You Ammo"! I was surprised and mentioned to him that the 9mm that I was attempting to purchase the ammo for was purchased at their gun shop within the past 12 months. With that knowledge he said, "We Don't Care and If You Aren't Buy a Gun Today Then We Will Not Sell You Any AMMO"! I understand that right now is a time that none of us have seen in our life times, but not to care about a customer that has spent money on purchasing a gun plus paying for range time several times over the past 12 months "IS NOT A BUSINESS" that I will be doing business with in the future! My boyfriend and I recently picked up shooting as a hobby and we were looking for an indoor range to go to during the winter. One of our friends introduced us to B&T and I'm glad he did! B&T may not be located in the greatest of areas of Lorain, but seriously, you're going to a shooting range and have a gun with you...it will be ok! Get there early or you'll have to wait for a lane, especially on Saturday mornings. We usually get there about thirty minutes before they open and wait outside until they let us in so we don't have to wait. The range has six lanes and can be "rented" by the half-hour. You can also rent guns and ear/eye protection. They will ask for a state ID for lane rental so make sure you bring yours! Their prices for lane rentals are as follows: Monday - Friday One Person Per Stall: $8.00 per 1/2 hour $12.00 per hour Two Person Per Stall: $12.00 per 1/2 hour $18.00 per hour Saturday - Sunday One Person Per Stall: $10.00 per 1/2 hour Two Person Per Stall: $15.00 per 1/2 hour Memberships are available if you plan on going more often. They will run you $250.00 per individual or $300.00 per family. The membership includes: one hour of range time per day, $1.00 off center fire ammo and $7.00 discount off weekly shooting leagues. The store portion of B&T also has a lot to offer. They have a variety of new and used guns for sale as well as a decent stock of ammo, eye/ear protection, targets, cleaning supplies and other accessories. The employees and salesmen are all very knowledgable, helpful and nice. This is a great locally owned gun shop that has a small indoor shooting range with 8 stalls. The range is usually pretty busy on the weekends, especially if the weather is bad out. During a weekday, they charge $8 for 30 minutes or $10 if you're sharing a stall with 2 people. On weekends, it's $10 and $12 respectively. Pretty cheap and they have a wide variety of targets to chose from! I do wish that they had a little better ventilation in the range though...those lead fumes aren't good for ya. haha Oh, they also offer yearly club memberships and they do teach CCW courses. The guys that work there are very cool and knowledgeable. Andy is fun to talk to and knows a lot about every gun they carry. This last time he even didn't charge us for range time or the 7 targets we bought! Such a swell guy! I've bought 2 of my guns from them and their prices are very good (way cheaper than Gander Mountain) and they'll match Fin Feather & Fur's prices! They matched their price for the Ruger SR22 that I bought a few years ago. Always try to barter with them to knock $10 or $20 off the price...you never know how much they'll sell it for. I took my CCW training class here and it was great. Joe (the instructor) was great and very nice. He explained things in a way that was easy to understand and made sure we were clear on the state laws before moving on. On the range he was very patient and did not rush us to hurry up and finish. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking to take the class. read more

Fantastic family event! We took her four daughters here to celebrate one of their birthdays. The girls have never shot before. Joe Did a quick gun safety class with us. It was incredibly informative and put my husband and I at ease. Our daughters are 17, 19, 20 and 29 and he treated everyone with so much respect. Thanks to Joe's pointers and tips not only did we have fun but the girls did amazingly well. I absolutely highly recommend B & D Shooting Range! This was my first experience at a gun shop/shooting range in my life and I'm glad this place was it. The guys were very experienced and knowledgeable. I was buying my first hand gun and had no clue what would be best for me. They helped me figure it out effectively & efficiently. The paperwork/back ground check was smooth and fast. I was in and out in 30 minutes!! The shooting range was full so was not able to go in and check it out but you could watch through the windows. I heard them checking people in and out for the range and they followed strict rules. I would definitely recommend this place and will come back to try out the shooting range! read more

My experience was quite different than the first reviewer. Not being a shooter but wanting to give it a go, we went there not really knowing what to expect. The counter attendant was definitely a no-nonsense kinda guy but I would expect that in this sort of establishment. He quickly realized we didn't know much about what we were doing (but that we were taking it seriously) and was quite helpful in helping us pick out what we needed. He even followed us into the range to show us how to load and proper holding technique. The people shooting around us were quite friendly too and even as newbies, we felt quite comfortable. They rent guns at a reasonable rate but I think if I make frequent return trips, I want to invest in my own. They also supply targets @ around 2 bucks but again, I might shop around for next time. Basically, they have everything you need if you just want to try it out and get comfortable. Then you can decide for yourself where to go from there. read more

Went in today to make a small purchase.I haven't been in in a while but am very loyal to b&d.I have taken classes paid for relatives classes and referred everybody who would listen.Today however,the way I was treated I guess I wasn't spending enough money ,but nobody wanted to help me find what I needed.Will never go back now or refer anyone. Customer service is non existent from what I can tell.Fortunately ,there was another place that was more than happy to help me.b&D used to be the place to go but not anymore.Very poor service and atmosphere now. read more

This is my go to range, the staff is so helpful and the atmosphere is laid back and inviting. Brandon was very helpful in finding me just the right pistol that met all my needs. The Concealed carry class was very informative and I was confident leaving knowing the laws, safety and handling of my hand gun. Very disappointed with this gun shop. I am active duty in the United States Marine Corps., from the area and home on leave. One thing I was looking forward to doing while home was to take my dad shooting for Father's Day. I rented two pistols with ammunition, we brought our own pistols and purchased more ammunition for those as well and spent about an hour shooting. In all, I spent around two hundred dollars in their shop. When it was time to pay, I asked if they do a military discount and very surprisingly, they do not. Of all the local businesses I frequented while home, this was the only one that did not offer a military discount. Prior to joining, I had shot at this range several times, but after this visit I will not be returning. Support our troops! read more

I never believed in guns, but this election has me thinking twice no matter which candidate wins. The staff at B&D are absolutely amazing! Not only did they help me learn how to shoot safely and accurately, but they also showed me how to clean and maintain my gun; I now own several. One of the benefits of shooting at the range is lowering your stress level... There's something about having the power in your hands and knowing if you need it it's there. I also took my CCW class at B&D and found the instructor to be amazing. I would highly recommend this place if you need to shop for a gun, learn to shoot a gun, practice your skills, or just hang out with a great group of people. read more

The staff here can be very rude and dismissive. After waiting an hour & 15 minutes to use their range because they were very busy, I had the range lights shut off on me with no warning & was told that we could no longer shoot because the lights were off (even though there was backlighting that lit up downrange). I would have understood if they came out and told us they would be closing down in a few minutes and to please finish up. Instead they just shut off the lights, then came in and said I could not finish firing my last 6 bullets. Since they basically kicked me out of the range I did not clean up any of my casings or targets. As I was settling the bill, the staff complained that I had not cleaned up my brass. I got the notion that they want to be out the door the minute they close, even if you have been a patient customer that wait to utilize their service. The business is lucky that it happens to be the only range in the area, but if you dont mind the distance go to Stonewall. read more
