Allison was our decorator and day of coordinator for my husband and I's Indian wedding and I kid you not, my jaw dropped when I walked into the room for every single one of our four events . The pictures really don't do justice to the beauty and grandeur of the huge spaces, which were completely transformed, which was good because our venue was not particularly attractive. It truly looked even better than what I could even dream of. These services don't come cheap, but Allison was very transparent with pricing of individual items, was willing to work with our budget, and saved us money wherever possible by reusing items between events. She threw in the most beautiful custom dance floor wrap for no extra charge for our reception, which was so appreciated! As a planner, Allison was so thoughtful and warm. With her in charge, we probably had the world's only on time Indian wedding. Allison's schedule was immaculate and I can't imagine how everything could have run as smoothly as it did without her behind the scenes calling vendors, directing traffic, and putting out fires. Her hard work allowed us to enjoy our big day that much more. Our only feedback would be that Allison put so much effort in that she was clearly stretched thin so we often felt like we had to go over the same details multiple times during the planning process and day of, some details (but not essential ones) were not executed the way we envisioned. I think this would happen in any situation where the lead decorator and coordinator of a 300 person event were the same person, so that is something to consider with bigger events. On the flip side, having the same person as planner and decorator made those two essential pieces that much more coordinated. 10 out of 10 would recommend, thank you Allison and team!!! read more

I could not write enough things to show my appreciation for the Parties & Props team, and especially Allison. Not only was the decor beautiful, the team is highly experienced, professional, and will go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of. At some point in your life, you may work in special events. And one day, your boss will come to you and ask you to find a giant, fake barn that looks like the real thing. And also, this barn has to make it to a major TV network in New York City. By next week. When that happens, don't panic. Or cry under your desk. Or bargain with God. Or turn in your two weeks notice. Not that I did all of those things. Twice. Call Parties & Props instead! I had no idea where to find anything like what was requested, so I furiously googled "barn sets STL" "prop shops STL" and "where can I find a fake barn for not a whole lot of money that can be taken out of the state near St. Louis?" Bingo. Parties & Props was the first search result. I gave them a call and within a couple of hours, was walking through their warehouse looking at the many different props and sets available for rent. They showed me the barn and it was exactly what we wanted, but needed to be painted in our colors. No problem. They customized the set in our signature white and green colors and even put our name in huge letters across the top. Awesome. The staff was very flexible and they turned the whole thing around for us in just a couple of days. We loaded it up in a horse trailer, took it to NYC and it looked GREAT on camera! For the amount of work that went into it and the amount of time we kept it, the price was more than fair. Definitely think of this place for large jobs and small. I wish there was an option to give no stars. This company has thoroughly disgusted me. It took two months for several emails and calls just to be responded to. They gave me the lame explanation that for some reason none of my emails were returned because they were not showing up in their system. Right, fine. Still doesn't explain why you guys didn't return my calls. I simply needed some pricing information and to know if you had the things that I need for a wedding. After finally getting some sort of response I ask another question which then takes an additional week just to get an answer. We're now at over two months of extremely poor customer relations and I still don't even know if they have the items that I am looking for. Amy advises me that they can send me a picture of one of the items but it would take an additional week... That was almost a month ago. So we're at THREE months now. Hey Amy.. STILL haven't received that picture. You guys are terrible and if you don't care about customers or don't want my money that's fine with me. I have half the mind to open a props shop literally next door and offer service that clearly you guys cannot. Definitely not happy at all. You guys make things 10 times more difficult for out of state brides to plan a wedding which everyone knows that that is stressful in itself already. ---------------------------------------------------------- In response to your comment Amy: At the risk of lowering your ratings more since you disabled my ability to reply to your comment directly I'll just update it here. First of all, I received the proposal and pictures in which the pictures did not include the one item I was most interested in. Hence the reason I emailed you back asking you to send me a picture of the trees, in which you responded to a week later stating that it would take another week after that just to send me a picture of them. So here we are yet another month later.. Still no picture. So no Amy, I did not correspond with you anymore after that cause quite honestly after being patient with your companies horrible customer service I decided to look elsewhere which actually made more work for me. Parties and Props came highly recommended by our venue coordinator, and we were very happy with the end result. They provided garden bulbs and lanterns for our exposed brick interior space, and the result was stunning. They were easy to work with--in fact, after signing the initial contract with them, everything was handled between them and our venue without needing our involvement at all. We could not have asked for an easier vendor to work with, and we are still amazed by how their decorations lit up the room. They also installed everything at the venue, which was a huge help (and indeed a requirement of the venue). Highly, highly recommended. read more
