A Cleveland institution? When I first heard those words about Memphis I cringed. How could this be an institution when I'd spent decades in Cleveland and never heard of it. Well, I clearly had my head in the sand. This place is the oldest continuously run Kidde Park in America and has the oldest steel roller coaster in North America. The facility clearly shows a bit of its age but is extremely clean. Further, the ride operators are very friendly and in tune with their small guests. I witnessed several random acts of kindness during my visit. Oh and did I mention that the food is good and the facilities clean. For younger kids who don't like crazy extreme rides, this is the pitstop for you! I think we paid $48 for pack of 25 tickets or so. Each ride is one ticket. We took my grandson last weekend. It was all in all a lots of fun. The kids working the rides were great. I did think it got a bit expensive for what it was. People with more than one child, it could get pricey. I think we spent almost $50 on tickets in the 2.5 hours we were there. I'm not sure why an adults has to pay a ticket on the train. It ended up costing $7 for one loop around the park, but he's too young g to send alone. But, it's been a few years so maybe that's what these things cost now. Fun for the kids but gets crowded We got there right at 10am when they opened and already a line going in. You buy a book of tickets 25 for $38. They have about 10 rides although several were closed/broken. There is a put putt course that costs extra and a snack stand that sells hotdogs, popcorn, drinks. The rides are meant for kids between 1 and about 5. You cannot bring in outside beverages, but can come and go. There is not entrance fee you just pay per ride with the tickets. Worth a trip once for the nostalgia. read more

Took our 2 granddaughters there for the younger ones 4th birthday. What impressed us the most was 2 of the ride workers that really enjoyed their job & made the most of it. The lady (Rachel) that ran the Turtle ride & the lady at the roller coaster interacted with the kids talking to them when they went on , during and while they were getting off the ride. They definitely made the experience more enjoyable. The other ride workers just were going thru the motions,some continued to look at their phones most of the time. I will say we were warmly greeted coming in & leaving the park by the 2 ladies at the front gate as well. read more

This is such a cute park! The size of the place is perfect for the pint-sized crowd, and its eleven rides are geared towards those under 50" in height. Three of the rides are for anyone: the train, the roller coaster, and the carousel. Entry to the park itself and the plentiful parking are free, and the rides are accessed by purchasing tickets at the ticket booth - one ticket per each ride. The rides are a nice variety - in addition to ones mentioned earlier, there are also boats, planes, cars, jeeps, a ferris wheel, pony carts, rocket ships, and a turtle chase. In addition to the rides, there is a mini golf course. There is a cute concession stand with some picnic tables that features a variety of amusement park goodies. The restrooms are in this area, as well, and are clean and well-kept. We had an excellent time here and very much enjoyed our visit! read more

Generations of us have visited. How wonderful that I am able to share this place with my grandchildren. Never disappoints for lots of laughs and smiles from the kiddos. The only downside is ticket prices have gotten so high, no complaints really with rising prices completely understandable. Wish there was an option for all day wrist bands. Went this morning with my daughter and nephews. Great time for the kids and very reasonable.

A wonderful throw back to the West Side of years past. The park is well maintained, with a variety of rides that are great for 3-6 year olds. The options become more limited once the kiddos hit 50 inches, then they can ride the train, roller coaster, or merry go round only. But for little tiles the pony carts, boats and cars are certainly a hit. The mini golf appeals to all ages and the bathrooms are well maintained. Overall an A+ read more

Classic little place. $25 will get you 2 hours of kiddie rides for 2 kids. For what they charge it is great... don't have huge expectations. We go every summer when we are in town visiting family. My 6 year old has another year before she is too big to ride. The snack bar is a lot like a fair. read more

Big fun in a kiddie sized park! We took our 2 kids for an afternoon of rides, snacks, and memories. First of all: Buy the ticket book. It's a great value, especially if you have more than one kid. It sets a nice limit on your time there, too. It's not too much ride time and not too little. The rides look old, but they are well maintained. There's a lot of TLC that went into Memphis Kiddie Park. I rode on a few rides, and everything felt sturdy, safe, and reliable. No issues for me or the kids. (Minus the need for a back adjustment after riding the roller coaster a few times. You get jerked around a little bit.) Come early! It fills up quickly in the late mornings and early afternoons. If you want first crack at multiple rides without wait times you should get there right as the park opens. read more

We have always loved Memphis Kiddie Park. Growing up, it was like a Disney World. Now being able to take my son, I enjoy it. If you buy the coupon book, it's $31 for 25 tickets (I loved when it was $25.25 for 25 tickets.) It's pretty reasonable, cost wise, and my favorite thing is the fact that tickets don't expire! At the end of a season, you don't have to pitch tickets. Now, I don't have any knowledge on owning a park, big or small, but there are some rides I wish worked a little smoother. Maybe that's how it's always been, I don't know. The last time we were there, the train broke down. One time I saw the Ferris wheel not be able to stop (and a kid was FREAKING out on it.) My overall is pretty good. We always go back and my son loves it. read more

This place has been a birthday hit for my kids over the past 4 years. The park has free entry and you just buy tickets for the rides. The best value is buying the book of 25 tickets. Each ride is one ticket and if you don't use then all you can come back on another day or year since the tickets never expire. These rides are perfect sized and speed for smaller kids. This year they added a new turtle roller coaster type ride, where the hand pedal "ride" used to be. My kids loved it and rode it 4 times. The only downside is the awful food. Thy have a rule about not bringing in outside food while theirs is not good. They have stale pre-boxed popcorn, chewy chips for the nachos, and we didn't try the chicken nuggets or fries when we saw how soggy other people's food was. read more

My friend and I have been on a mini golf craze, and went just to check out the course that they have there. The course was one of the most fun and challenging ones that we have played on. It is an older course that could use some updating and polishing up, but the holes were fun and unique. Plus at $6 a person, you can't beat it. It's the type of course that you want to play again to try and figure out some of the shots. Highly recommended! read more

This miniature golf has been here forever. It's a no frills attraction located a few miles from the zoo. It's opened seasonally, and we like to visit and play when we're in town. It's priced well. If you don't hit your balls into the last hole, you can go again if you're up to it. The rounds are fairly level, and not too decorative. To be fair, I'm sure there are fancier places around, but this location is easy to get to, and they have the little kiddie rides nearby. They sell popcorn and other snacks inside where you pay. They do have bathrooms, I can't say that I've ever used them though. There is plenty of parking here. It's not a paved lot though, so keep that in mind if you've got a fancy ride. I typically bring a rental car, so I could care less. read more

Memphis Kiddie Park is super cool. My kid agrees. We went on the Little Dipper FIVE times. I got dizzy. He got whiplash. Tickets never expire, so if you need to leave before you use them all -- just come back! Drawbacks -- it's a bit expensive as it costs $2.00 per ride and most of them are really short. Also, I wish they had some sort of wristband you could buy so that you don't have to carry tickets and keep buying them. If you're hungry, they got corn dogs 'n shizz. The 11 rides provide just enough thrill for the under 6 crowd. Adults can go on the roller coaster, train or the merry-go-round. I love taking Bubba Baby to Memphis Kiddie Park, and he loves it too! If there's any doubt about that please reference the attached pictures!! LOL What I love about Kiddie Park is that the rides and the property as a whole looks so well maintained. None of the rides look sketchy or rickety and on our most recent visit on 8/20/16 everything seemed to have a shiny new coat of paint! You'd never know that this place has delighted generations of families, if it weren't for smiling grandmas and grandpas sharing stories about when they brought their children as they wait to collect glee-filled grandchildren from one amusement or another. There are about 10 or so rides including the rollercoaster, which I find rather violent, but my son enthusiastically rides over and over again; the train and the merry go round also accommodate adults. The park is designed for younger riders which is what makes it so special. We started bringing Bubba Baby when we was about 2 years old. We have also played on the mini golf course and surprisingly my son really enjoyed playing. I will say that the mini golf course does show some signs of age but it shouldn't significantly take away from the experience. So the question is, if I'm raving about how awesome this place is then why withhold a star? Well, there is some room for improvement here. The first thing is that the concession stand requires a minimum $5 purchase with a card which is frustrating, and I find the concession stand prices to be on the higher side. We had a small party there and a good time was had by all, my only hang up is that you have to wait until the last hour of the party to get the food and drink that comes with your party. You have to turn in the wristbands to get the food, the problem with that is that you can't eat and drink during the party, so if guests are hungry they (or you!) will have to go to the concession stand and purchase food. I find the service at the concession to be very slow. At first I thought maybe it was because it was a busy day but we've visited many times since and it has proven to be consistently slow. They do provide you will pitchers of water during your ride time. Which brings me to my last hang up...listen I feel like Memphis Kiddie Park is always ten degrees hotter than anywhere else in Cleveland!!! I wish there were more covered areas for the adults to wait for the kids. I don't know how that would happen but it would be nice. We prefer to go when its overcast because the kids could care less but for us its like the face of the sun. Kiddie Park is a Cleveland treat for kids and their families. Your kids will have a fantastic time and you will enjoy seeing the joy on their faces. read more

This tiny place is like Cedar Point for 3-5 year olds. They have about a dozen or so rides geared for the little ones. Clean and very safe. My 6 year old rode all the rides but seemed bored at times. The 3 year old was in heaven. Tickets are sold in 25,10 and single amounts. We bought the 25 ticket plan and it was perfect for two kids-- but why the odd number? we gave our last ticket away so the kids wouldn't fight. Also, you have to use tickets for the adults to ride the train and the little dipper. Adults-- If you are taller than 4 feet avoid the little dipper if you can or your knees will pay. They have a concession stand (of course) and restrooms. They do not allow outside food or drinks - e.g. Starbucks :( Over all it's good time for the kids ... We will be back to try the putt putt. read more

My husband grew up with Memphis Kiddie Park but it was my first time and the first for our daughter. She had a blast at 2 1/2!!! We spent about 3 1/2 hours there are she rode everything twice! The jeeps and the turtles were her favorite! The park is very clean and the staff was very nice. I really like the fact that as a parent I can place my child in her seat and secure the seatbelt. Since 1952 this park has been making kids happy. I loved it as a kid in the 70s, and now I get to take my sister's kids. There are 11 rides, and they are geared to young kids, roughly 2-6 or so (under 50" in height for most rides, I think). I loved "driving" a car on a track as a kid, convinced that I was really operating my vehicle. There's a tiny ferris wheel, a train that takes adults and kids around the park, a merry go round, and several other gentle rides, plus the oldest operating steel roller coaster in North America. It's a bit jerky, but fun. Only goes 8 mph and goes no higher than 12 feet. You pay per ride with tickets, so lots of adults can come along to take photos and wave at the kids on the rides without having to pay admission. The park is immaculate, and the staff are helpful. There's a snack shop on site. Plenty of parking. read more

Took my three year old for his birthday with some friends! They had a great time riding the rides and playing putt putt. One of the rides did break down while we were waiting in line and wasn't back up and running even after a round of golf. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because it's relatively expensive for essentially carnival rides! Each ride is a ticket and tickets cost $2.25 a piece. Only nice thing is tickets don't expire so we bought the 25 ticket pack for $35. Still seems kinda pricey for a Kiddie Park. read more

This place is a gem. I feel borderline neglected because my parents didn't take me here as wee lad. (jk m&d, it's not too well known to eastsiders) All four of my offspring love this place. It got a nice makeover this year too. One of the best family afternoons around. The rollercoaster is a true classic.
