We ordered balloons for a party. Pick up was supposed to be ready by noon. I arrived at 12:40 pm and they realized no one filled the order so they're filling the order as I'm writing this review. My son went to Party City to get a Welcome Home sign. He was told they don't sell them anymore because 2-3 years ago, people bought too many of them for people coming home from the war and they want to be 'neutral' on that!! We won't shop here any more and neither will our friends! read more

They have an okay selection. It's always got a long line and the cashiers are slow. Came in once and I couldn't get balloons filled for days. Tried to do an online curbside pick up which was also a bad experience. They don't answer the phone when you're outside, can't find the order, say it's not ready even with a confirmation email. This weekend was my 3rd terrible experience with this location. In the past, I've ordered balloons online greater than 1 week in advance and they were not ready when I went to pick them up. The time before this, they were on a "helium shortage" and I was ordering over a week in advance. I asked when their shipment would be in and the employee said they don't know they helium just gets delivered whenever they have more. This weekend, I went to pick up balloons I ordered online 5 days prior to pickup. Per usual, I walked in over to the balloon station and no one offered to help me. After 10 minutes once I got someone's attention, they said they couldn't find my order. The employee was able to blow up the balloons in less than 5 minutes, which I appreciated. I asked to speak to a manager, as this was not the first time I ordered online and my order wasn't ready. The manager became very defensive and tried to pass the blame. "I blew those up this morning!" Which he did not because I watched the other employee blow mine up since they were not ready. He was extremely rude and unsympathetic. The customer service is the ABSOLUTE WORST and I will not be returning to this location anytime soon. read more

My mother and I came into the store looking for balloons that are several different shades of pink. When we approached the counter, Rachel instantly had an attitude when my mother asked her where could we order balloons. A manager came and assisted us with the order, however, when we asked did they have any more than just 2 shades of pink he just pointed and said that's all we have. We then asked if someone could check of a nearby store had them and Rachel rolled her eyes as she reluctantly called the store to check. I'm not happy at all. i came in on a Sunday at around 4:30 and stood waiting for helium balloons for at least 10 minutes while three people behind the counter worked on one order of helium balloons. The man whose order it was seemed to have been waiting a while, too, like they didn't have his order ready on time. When I finally got my 3 mylar balloons filled, I had been waiting so long that I rushed to the checkout counter and out of there without noticing that one of them was only about 2/3 full. It looks terrible and I can't use it all. It looks like I've had it lying around for a month. Not at all presentable for gift-giving. I really dread heading in to this place but, I do like a good party and they definitely have plenty of supplies. However, they are extremely lacking in customer service. They are generally understaffed. I always have to wait 10+ minutes in line to simply check out. If they are out of something, good luck finding anyone to check inventory for you. I also find it very odd that they have NO items for the Olympics. Pro-tip: For what ever holiday/event you are having a party for, go there 2-3 weeks before and you will have a good selection of supplies. This store generally has the party supplies I need and they have an adequate amount of seasonal supplies as well as general supplies. I want to give 1 or zero stars for the level of staffing they have and the failure of staff to ever attempt to speed things up or even acknowledge that people are waiting an excessive amount of time. Every time I go, there is a line that takes 10+ minutes to get through with only 2 checkout people that work very slowly. This occurs no matter what time of day I go. Sometimes there is even a manager that is either helping the balloon person or is acting as balloon person and they also fail to offer better/speedier customer service. It has the absolute rudest staff and the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Great stuff, and tons of it. It makes you want to throw your husband a dinosaur or Bob the Builder themed party for his 25th birthday. They have a great selection of wedding and bachelorette themed things too, but let me be the first to tell you that the giant red suckers beckoning to be picked up are actually life size suckers shaped like a penis and if you grab one the whole jar will fall over and knock everything on the shelf off. I worked at a party store several years ago, so I know the drill. I ordered several bunches of balloons for an event this month. The bunches looked great - one mylar and 4 latex each. The prices are competitive to other party stores in the city. The staff was nice on the phone (though they left me on hold for 15 minutes while they confirmed they had inventory available for what I wanted). The one issue I had, which really irks me, is they didn't bag the bunches separately. They just handed them to us (on a windy day) and told us to "be careful to not get them tangled". Really? Who doesn't bag bunches of balloons so they a) don't get tangled and b) aren't affected by weather. By the time I got the balloons to the venue, they were so tangled, it took me FORTY-FIVE MINUTES to untangle them. I was still untangling when the event started. That is inexcusable. Unless they can guarantee bagging next time, I'll be taking my business to Doolin's. read more

Super clean and organized location!! Everything was fully stocked and looked beautiful. The over shock items are placed high above the shelves but they are always restocking. This location is definitely cleaner and the employees are very helpful! I will definitely be back to purchase more of my party supplies in the future! read more

I went here on a Sunday night to purchase helium balloons and banners for a birthday, lines took forever, balloon blow up took forever, I understand it was a half hour before they were supposed to close, but I dont understand why everything took so long. I wish there were other places in the city to have helium balloons blown up, maybe I will start purchasing just one solo balloon from a grocery store to save me the stress of party city. It is such a fun store to enter during the holidays, I will most likely be back during the week, so I'm not competing with other annoyed people. read more

So sad. It was my son's birthday party, so as usual, I like filling up the balloons the night before to make them last the following day. So as I ordered the balloons, I asked and paid extra for the coating they put inside that makes them last 24 hours. I paid $40 total, and the next day was the day of his party. It started at 11:00 A.M., and before it even began, the balloons had fallen. Luckily, there was a different Party City right near the location where we were hosting. I showed them the receipt and got the balloons filled for free. Unfortunately, it was an extra step and really inconvenient with our busy morning, but we got lucky and found a different Party City that took better care of us. These new balloons have lasted over two weeks! On top of getting ripped off, the people working there were not very customer friendly. There was a huge line of people waiting to checkout, while two women were taking at least 15 minutes with a customer at one register, and no other employees helping out. The customer's husband even commented on the line she started, but no one working there bothered to help. read more

Every time i come in, there is only one cashier working and one person on balloons, with the volume of business, you would think they would have MORE workers. As i am typing this, I'm standing in line with 13 other complaining customers (no exaggeration). I ordered some supplies online for curbside pick up. I received an email that my order was ready, and went to pick it up about 2 hours after email was sent. I go to store, pull up front, and followed the directions to call the store. I kept calling an no one was answering. I finally went inside and advised one of the workers I had a curbside pick up and no one is answering. The person at the register let's another person know I'm here for a pick up. The other person doesn't even acknowledge her and keeps going on about his business and starts helping others. The register clerk continues to ring people up. I advised again I am still waiting. She tells me she is working register and the other guy is doing curbside. She was not friendly and made me feel like I was being an inconvenience. I did curbside so I didn't have to go inside! She finally went to get my order. I ordered balloons and she tells me they are out of helium. At that point, I didn't want the balloons because they were useless and I tried to explain to her that and she snapped at me. She said to look in the bag for the balloons. The balloons were not in the bag either. I advised I would like a refund. A third person finally advised me if I get charged for them, I have to go through my bank and they can't help me. Very unprofessional workers. What's the point of curbside if no one is going to answer and bring you out you items? read more

The employees here are all incredibly rude. I came in looking for a piñata. When I asked one of the store clerks at the register if they had any piñatas that were under the $20-$30 range, she explained there were some in aisle 6 that were marked down. After grabbing one of these piñatas, which was tagged as $4.99 on the shelf, and taking it to the register, I was surprised when the product rang up as $19.99. When I explained that it was marked as $4.99 on the shelf, she radioed another clerk and proceeded to tell me I was wrong. I said I'd like to put the item back, and walked the item back to where I had found it. Once I arrived there, I was met by another clerk, who said that the other piñatas were marked down but the one I had picked up was not. So, I swapped the product for a different one, when ANOTHER clerk came up and said "no, all of these are marked wrong." She RIPPED all of the price tags from the shelf and without another word both clerks walked away. A simple, "sorry, I was unaware these were priced wrong" would have sufficed. While the monetary amount is very small, the experience and the stores response was so negatively significant that I felt compelled to write my first review on yelp. I was throwing a surprise party for my life partner's 50th, and went to the Party Store on Fullerton to place an order for 20 helium filled balloons to help decorate my backyard. When placing the order, the store made a HUGE DEAL about the importance of ordering in advance, which required advanced payment, in order to ensure the balloons would be ready for pick up and how important the confirmation number of the order was to pick up the balloons (I actually picked out the 20 balloons, which were placed in a baggie as part of the order). I paid for the order (along with a lot of other party supplies) with an 11 AM pick up time. I sent a friend to the store at noon with the printed confirmation form and number( ok I was an hour late), only to have my friend call and to say the order had been SOLD to somebody else (keep in mind- the order was already paid for). Yes, the store did quickly fill 20 balloons, but they didn't match the colors I had originally chosen. The party was several days ago, and I have yet to receive an apology or even a response from the store for their mistake. Actually, I have only received a computerized survey request to evaluate my satisfaction with their service. You can guess my rating on the survey! read more

Consistently gets balloon orders wrong. I always order a week ahead so expect the order to be correct since it's not a rush. Two recent examples are (1) Valentines Day I ordered 12 Foil Hearts (white ribbon) and 24 white balloons (red ribbon). The hearts were not available for me to count out but assured me they had plenty and the order would be right. I should have known better but the order was already bagged when I got there. First of all, all the ribbons were white which I just let go as I didn't have time for 24 balloons to be re tied with red. I got the balloons to the event where they were centerpices for tables. I was short one red heart so I called and the salesperson was sarcastic that I asked if they could deliver it and "sorry" I was short "ONE" balloon on Valentine's day when they were busy. That would be the reason I ordered ahead. So I ended up going to Walgreens to get a similar heart to complete the table arrangements. (2) The same weekend I ordered balloons for a party the following week. This time just three myler balloons. Two were to have blue ribbons (blue balloons) and one was to have a yellow ribbon (yellow balloon). The next week I went to pick up the balloons and not surprised the ribbons were wrong - all yellow. I told the person a the register who quickly had an attitude but this time with their own staff and told them to fix the ribbon colors. I waited what seemed like a bit of time and walked back to where they were being re-done and they were on the third balloon and swapping the ribbon on the yellow balllon for blue...I said "No that one was suppose to be yellow to match". So now that employee got an attitude telling me the other person told her to switch it. I replied that the receipt she was holding had the instructions...so now she had to switch it back and hand them off to me abruptly. Horrible horrible customer service. I wish there was another Party City close. With so many unemployed people you would think they could find employees that could count and read. read more
