To echo what some others have said, this is a smaller format store. I realize not every Target can have the selection of the one at Wilson Yard. Heck, I visited a Target in Texas that had 20 human registers, and a full deli department (everything really is bigger in TX, I guess?) With that said, some of the way things are organized takes a little getting used to. Sporting goods right across from groceries? Sure. Finding TP being a micro-quest? Why not? Otherwise, I find this store is generally kept clean, items are well presented (pulled forward, 'zoned' in Target lingo), and I've not had out-of-stock issues. Something that is at times less than perfect is the staff. For one, if you're checking out, there is a significant focus on self-checkout, with humans being guest service and cashiers in one. I was also confused if those doing order-pickup should enter the line with everyone and their carts/baskets, or cut in from the front. Last note I want to share is that I do appreciate the parking under the building, though I find parking is common at Chicago Targets. Final Verdict: as a Target close to me, I visit when I need to make a quick run. However, if I need to make a more comprehensive purchase, I go to a larger format store. read more

This target needs to update its restroom labels. check this. the "family" and the "mens" restroom are identical in that they have a single toilet to sit on and a baby changing table and a lock on the door. The "women's" restroom has two stall and NO BABY CHANGING TABLE! and No lock on the door. so my suggestion is either have two family restrooms and a women's restroom or make it 3 family restrooms. My complaint is mostly because if there are two bathrooms that are basically gender neutral family bathrooms then label it that so people who need to use the changing table for drugs or changing babies or whatever don't have to worry about going into the wrong designated labeled bathroom. thats so dumb! also target needs to pay their employees way more for the amount of crude us customers throw on them. I was so mean to this one lady. and she doesn't even make a living wage... i feel bad about it now... and want to do right by suggesting that they change the bathrooms! also the prices at this store are pretty good. I've purchased from this store but haven't been inside. It's different from most of the other Targets I've been to. It is co-located with housing, and there's a paid garage underneath where the retail parking is. This is also where the drive-up parking is, so you have to of into the garage for order drive-up.Parking is free for up to one hour so you should time your shopping. There are some 15 minute loading zone in front if you need to pick someone up, but otherwise parking along Sheridan in this area is going to be pretty difficult. read more

Used to shop at this location a lot, but sadly, given corporate's lack of support for the GLBTQ+ community in confronting the rise of transphobia and homophobia, I can't help think that what in years past was always a very vibrant display and selection, this year's Pride selection was very subdued and lacking. Saturday Is Clean Day!!! I went in search of a MOP!! I get to the location where they are located or was supposed to be (They Were Out) A young lady was near by just finishing up some stock... Considering the size of the store overall job well done. Where this store can and should improve is on the prices. Clearly they are taking advantage of Loyola students and their families money that they know so many have. They try to keep it stocked, they try with security. It is mostly self-checkout. Watch your prices, there is a scanning machine to check prices before you check out. It is in the aisles somewhere. read more

Pros: friendly staff, close to Loyola university. Cons: With it being a mini-Target, it's a lot smaller than the average Target. Mini-Target's are usually about 1/3 the size of a regular Target, this one seemed a lot smaller than that. It looks like Target purchased a small space and decided to cram all the items together, there's definitely not enough space for the inventory they carry. The way they divided sections isn't well organized, either. They carry your basic every day necessities that are equivalent to going to the CVS down the block or Walgreens nearby. They decided to add a Starbucks inside despite there being one right across the street.. haha. This mini-Target is useless to the area since everything inside can be purchased within a walking distance. Also, there are two regular sized Target stores located within 2 miles of this location so this definitely wasn't a beneficial addition to the neighborhood. read more

This Target is small and doesn't have as much inventory as other Targets. It's often crowded, and even more so during the school year when Loyola students are in town. A lot of the items here are more expensive than they are at other Targets. Also, the laundry detergents have sensors on them. Luckily the employees are nice and there's a Starbucks. read more

**UPDATE** Afraid that I am going to have to drop my review by one star for the time being. This store is new. So I'm willing to give them a grace period. But to date, they are terrible when it comes to keeping everyday items in stock. I wanted to buy peaches the other day. They didn't have produce/meat bags. Lady had to grab me some plastic bag from the floral department. Shelves are routinely bare of everyday items like paper towels, etc... I know they're new. So willing to cut them some slack for now. But it's disappointing when you show up for something simple like toilet paper or paper towels and they're all out. Sorry. But pretty inexcusable when you're a place like Target. read more

This is my initial review for this location. I'll revisit and possibly edit the rating a few months down the line for today, 3 stars. They have some serious out of stock issues. Perhaps they are getting a feel for order replenishments but upon visiting 3 days ago, a lot of their shelves were bare. From hand soap to k-cups, too many items were OOS. I do appreciate the parking in the bottom garage of the store. This is a great location as there is the Red Line just south and buses galore near. Plus it's convenient for the Loyola students. I will say the store was clean and brightly lit. Let's see what happens at this location a few months down the line especially come fall. read more

Targèt is awesome. This target is smaller yet has everything you need last minute, especially cor cooking. I live next door to the store and have never had issues with the store being under stocked. The people working here are great and I love strolling around the store. The lack of options in this store is clearly explained by the smaller size of store square's footage, so any reviews commenting on the lack of options are just unfair. This won't replace a full target or a grocery store but it does the job. Best part is... Not a Walmart! read more

I love this location! I use to shop down the street at Devon Market, however now I see how much that place price gouges its customers after shopping here. I have not had any issues with stock (as a previous review stated). It is a mini Target, but it has everything someone would need for everyday shopping along with a cute home and electronic section. They also have a produce section and I would absolutely not compare this place to CVS (as another reviewer stated). CVS also charges twice the amount for the same items found here. Pass! The staff are very friendly and it's very clean. Now all we need is a Trader Joe's and the neighborhood would be complete! read more

The customer service in this location is bad. One employee in particular Martin is very rude! He and others have nice/nasty attitudes. He has even approached me at the self check out register with no mask on!! They use the phrase "have a nice day" in a derogatory manner. I will no longer shop here. I don't understand why so many of the people working here aren't wearing masks. The masks your customers are wearing helps protect the staff, it would be great if they would do the same for us. This target being so close to my school is so great. They usually have most things I need but last time I went they did not even have stickers or ribbions. This says something about their inventory. A plus is their is a starbucks inside so you can always get a coffe before or after you shop. read more

I'm glad to have a Target in this convenient location right off the Loyola Red Line. Most of the staff is friendly and helpful. But sometimes it can take quite a while to get someone to help you get stuff out of the locked cases. And I notice that a lot of times the people working there are coughing and obviously under the weather, even the Starbucks baristas. This Target must not have a go-home policy for symptoms. It's also a small Target and there's a lot they don't have. No dollar section lol. That being said, they do have the basics, including a lot of food. Their laundry detergents have security sensors on them, which is a bit inconvenient. The check-out area can also be quite congested. The line gets pretty long during the school year when students are in town. The book section is lacking, but the clothes and grocery sections are decent. While it's nice to have a Target store closer to home, (previously my only two options were Wilson or heading up to Evanston) I wish this Target had a bit more inventory. They're often sold out or don't carry popular items that the larger stores have. Customer service is also less than stellar. I just left this morning and there was a young woman with glasses at the service desk screaming about guests needing to use the self-checkout kiosks. Its a smaller target... Not a big large space like other stores. There are most of the usual things, but just less space. Felt a tad narrow in some areas but I'm chalking that up to visiting the store on the grand opening and everyone in the neighborhood wanting to check it out. The checkout area seemed a bit cluttered as its right at the front door and there was a long line of people waiting to check out. This is a very small Target. It's a great addition to the neighborhood. I waited more than a year for it to open and while I'm a bit disappointed, I'm still glad it's here. I've shopped there four times since it opened on April 7. I realize space is limited, but it's the first time I've seen empty shelves at a Target. They need to choose their merchandise to be more in line with the needs of the neighborhood, especially since it's across the street from a college campus and near a lot of high rises. I was told by the employee there that this is an "Express" Target. Bought pillows and was told they only had the size bags they had. Basically, if buy something that doesn't fit into those bags, expect blank stares and apologies, but no real Customer Service. I asked about a garbage bag. Apparently, only Maintenance has access to the garbage bags. Seriously? The garbage bags are under lock-down? I should have BOUGHT a box of trash bags just to carry 2 king pillows home. I almost made a scene several times in response to apologies. I'll shop there for quick items but not for the microwave, garbage can and other large items I intended to buy. I was shopping on Sunday afternoon the first day at your brand new Target here, wasn't sure where certain items were located, Taylor & Lisa were very pleasant and helpful employees who went beyond just telling me politely where the items where. Taylor offered to show me the aisle an item was at, Lisa actually took me through the store to find what I was looking for. These two young people are to be commended for their work ethics. We need more workers like these young ones. The only problem was I couldn't find anymore red plates & bowls that Target usually carries. read more

I live 5 blocks from this new Target and was excited about its opening. Decided to go there this morning, April 13th on my way to work. I got arrived around 8:30am. I saw a man vacuuming the floors before I entered. When I went through the doors I was hit with the loud noise of his vacuum. This is a small express store with tiny aisles. I wasn't angry at first because I assumed he would stop within a few minutes...he didn't! I spent roughly 30 minutes in this Target. The aisles were neatly organized and the team members were really nice. But, this guy and his vacuum made for a horrible shopping experience. You would think they would have had him do that before the doors opened. Anyway, I went to check out and I wanted to use the one cashier they had that was not self express check out. I waited in line for her because I usually have problems with the other express. Again, she was pleasant, but MANAGEMENT had her working her register and helping people who had problems with the express register. I know you just opened up this week and I will give it another try people make mistakes. This fair review is to give management a heads up, that while you may have hired great people, you need better organization. There are still 2 Targets nearby and people will use them. Don't think you will make a lot of money just because of the brand. Please do better. Oh, and the young lady at the Starbucks counter needs some more training on how to communicate with customers. I rarely write reviews, but this was by far my worst shopping experience e They must have paid attention because service and organization is now a hundred times better. Good job! read more

4/14/19 9pm: Seems smaller than the average quick stop target and not stocked well i.e toilet paper supply, mixers but no spirits but there is a book section and a Starbucks. Why I don't know, when there is literally a Starbucks and DD across the street next to Popeyes. During checkout the cashier was friendly. One of my items (juice) I left on the counter and he ran and caught me before leaving through the doors. Once I got home I realized my cough syrup was missing. I called and the female, African American manager on duty answered to which I asked her if I left cough medicine behind ten minutes ago. She put me on hold and one minute later replied "no". I replied thank you and hung up. I then checked my car and bags again. I then called back to ask if someone could check directly with my cashier and also the carts. Before I could finish my thoughts in calling about the cough syrup again seeing she answered again, I was cut off and YELLED AT!!! She immediately began in a loud tone "MS. THERE WAS NO COUGH SYRUP LEFT IN THE STORE". I kindly hung up being too tired from the flu and trying extremely hard to maintain my composure and not cuss out a fellow sista gurl. You would think thorough customer service was a dock on her paycheck and plus the store was empty. I'm extremely disappointed as I live for Target! Shoutout to the cartwheel app folks! But, my first visit to this location while esp two blocks from my home was a fail. Quite frankly it pissed me off and I decided not to give the unprofessionalism any more of my energy. This is the worst target I've ever utilized. Yes, it is new, and looks pretty, but that is the end of it. Let's start with the difficult to enter parking garage. If you need to turn into it on Sheridan going Northbound, good luck. And then you have to sit in front of a door waiting for it to open (not a normal business garage entrance). And once you get inside to park, there are many spots that if you park in, you can't open your door or the passenger door to exit your vehicle due to support pillar placement. The selection inside the store is very minimal do to its small size. And that can be fine depending on your needs. But every item that I went to buy was highly overpriced. I could probably save money shopping at Whole Foods. I thought this to be highly disappointing given that this store is located across the street from Loyola University and within a neighborhood that is not known for its wealth. read more
