The Party Place Depot has re-opened, after it's predecessor, Party Land, closed last year. It's…read morenot a coincidence that they have struggled mightily due to the massive construction projects behind their building and across Cricket now too. People don't come because of the fear of parking and congestion. They're located in what was once Woolworth's, a place I spent hours in as a child. There are two entrances - one facing Lancaster and one in the rear off Cricket Ave. I go there now for Halloween supplies - fake blood, costumes, props, for general party supplies and for wrapping paper supplies. They are slightly more expensive than big box stores or online , sure. Their quality is very good, often better. Plus, you're supporting a local business. The other thing they do are done pretty spectacular ballon decorations as well as on-the-spot sales of regular and Mylar balloons. I have my eye on a 15' tall Jack Skellington Mylar balloon that is amazing. Parking is more limited, though there are spots between the new construction ant the existing buildings for use, and Party Place Depot has a 15 min loading zone by their rear entrance. They're also 1/2 block from the Ardmore train & bus stations. The people who work there are generally nice and helpful. It's an old building so it's not super fancy. They have a wide variety of items though. It's worth the extra to buy here, both in effort and the price differentials from the mega-store-conglomerates. I'm definitely going back. Continuing a tradition that has been around since the 1950's. What's that you ask? Quite simple... "DIY-home-to-cook-meals", prepared fresh with all the ingredients! All you need is an oven and your stomach. Take it, as of yet I haven't tasted one of the specially prepared fifteen items she has available on the menu, which changes monthly, as I've been told. (Don't hold me to it.) But I did get to taste a cookie! Which was moist and so heavenly. That was the only time she had something actually cooked at the store. Typically it's our job to do the cooking not her. But she put together some of these cookies for the Yelp event later tonight. Just to wrap things up... Get it???????? Because... she... wraps... up... the... food... and... you... take... it... home... to.... rrrrrriiiiiigggghhhtttt... (insert small cough and a cricket at your disclosure) Just order a dish and they will assist you, putting together the perfect meal for a special occasion, or just for your pleasure. The staff was helpful about figuring out the size to accommodate my needs, and they were honest and helpful with options of side flaps, etc., in case of rain. We had a very large 40x60' tent (fit over 100ppl, 8pc band, dance floor, bar, and buffet). We also rented tables, China, glassware, and flatware from Taylor. (They also offer linens, chairs, dance floor, lighting, chafing dishes, and more, but I purchased all of those separately, to hang onto for future parties. Then my father threw out $600 in linens, but that's another story.) Taylor was timely, professional and quick with set up. They were also very reasonable/relaxed about time allotted for pick up the next day. We had the tent up for the rehearsal evening, day/night of wedding, and even brunch the next morning as well. The tent and tables held up super sturdily, China/glassware held fast too, and flatware did its job swell. Taylor crew showed up on time to remove everything, and it looked like they'd never been there. My sister rented from them for her wedding a few years later.
