This place is a gem - a total wonderland, and well organized so that it's not overwhelming. Luckily Pasadena Architectural Salvage is located on Foothill Blvd., an area I frequent several times a week. For me, this is not a destination kind of shopping experience. Shoppers will travel a distance to the Rose Bowl or PCC Flea Markets. I do believe, though, that if you happen to be restoring a house PAS is a place you might consider adding to your list of "places to check out". Recently when I was working on 2 bathrooms in a house from 1960, I was searching for eclectic robe hooks. After checking out the Internet and the catalogues for a style and price baseline, when at PAS I noticed a handful of hooks, the right scale and look for the spaces. I give it 2 stars because the inventory is good, however I won't be returning to this business for 2 reasons: they are very pricey and they have a 2-week return policy which includes a 20% restocking charge. I was told it covers credit card charges or charge backs. I have not been to any other store that has these unreasonable charges on returns. Very impressive selections here. Nicely organized and labeled. Owners happy to help you find what you need. They have beautiful hardware, lighting bath/sink/tub pieces and lots of doors!! I called to ask if they had any garage doors available. The man I spoke to said he had dutch doors and garage doors. Told me he would send photos, then went back on his word and told me he needed to see my garage first. He spoke to me as if I was lying to him. He did not want to assist me because I didn't have the dimensions of what I was looking for. He immediately directed me to look at the online inventory and did not give me a straight answer when I asked if there was additional inventory in the store. Seems like they choose who they want to sell to and what they want to sell based on who the buyer is. Feels icky and unfair. Beautiful pieces, bad attitude. read more

I couldn't love this place more! I have been getting treasures and needed items for home renovations here for 20 years. They are always so knowledgeable helpful and friendly. And I often find things I wasn't expecting to find while looking for some other treasure. I love putting beautiful salvaged items into my home renovations and I'm so grateful that Pasadena architectural is doing the hard work of saving the gems from homes that would otherwise Lost in the garbage dump of history. I'm a huge fan of this place and have spent close to 20k over there on old hardware, plumbing and light fixtures. The staff is cheerful, helpful and knowledgeable. We're lucky to have a brick and mortar location like this in Pasadena. read more

I like the effort, BUT DON'T GO. The selection is horrendous and the staff appears half drunk & smells bad (I mean real bad). Don't waste your time here. Better off searching the recycle bin at HD, or better yet try Liz's or the Rose Bowl Swap Meet, but this place is just a sad empty shell, unless you count the buffoons that run the place. read more

Another great place to shop for authentic, vintage house parts and especially hard to find parts.The parts we buy here we use to restore period homes throughout southern California. Everyone in this business should be supportive and encourage each other, please come and check them out. Their prices can seem a little high, but vintage materials add immeasurably to the value of a vintage home. We have a similar business that we have had for over 35 years in Anaheim, and working with old houses and old house people is certainly a labor of love. Good quality store if your in search of a door or door nobs and hardware! They have a lot to pick from! Staff is super friendly and very willing to help! Only thing is it is a smaller store and I wish they had more of everything else. I was in search of craftsman lighting and they had very very little lighting fixtures! really nicely organized shop with LOTS of cool stuff...the women running it were super friendly and knew exactly where to look for what you need. Love this place! My friends and I were building a Cobb hit in our backyard. When we came in looking for windows, we told them about our project and they gave us a window for free! Prices might seem high on the tag but they offer discounts. We went in looking for something they didn't carry, not sure what the pretty blonde lady's name was, but she was kind enough to refer us to where we could source what we were looking for. She was nice enough to look up the address and store hours for us. They've got a nice, organized store to look through and it doesn't smell bad like a lot of other stores do. A good place to check on periodically for that one treasure you might be missing. read more
