As a pianist myself, I really appreciate how Gabriel breaks down how to practice a song to make it easier to learn. He also takes into account my son's interest when choosing a song. Here is my 2nd review on this school. We love coming here. My son has been taking drum lessons since Covid. His current teacher Ardem is one of the best! He knows how to keep my son engaged and it shows in every recitals by playing harder and harder songs! My daughter also started piano lessons with Abigail. She's patient and fun. My daughter is 6 so she knows how to speak young kids language. My daughter says she's is nice and funny. She looks forward for her weekly lesson. Most importantly the ease of communication with front desk is top notch. I can text easily and always get fast response. My son's basketball schedule varies and they always try to accommodate our needs. I can't say enough good things about this place! We enjoy going to recitals 2x year. When my daughter chose a cello as her 3rd grade instrument our family was really excited and surprised. She began lessons at school but felt alone as the only cello player in a large class of violins. We started her at PMA with Kevin for some 1:1 cello time and it has been such a pleasure to come here every week and watch our child learn so much. Kevin is incredibly patient and skilled with children; my daughter is sensitive and can have trouble sometimes when trying new things that are difficult but Kevin has made learning fun and she quickly got over little things like how her fingers felt funny at first. Kevin uses a growth mindset outlook- "You haven't learned how to do this.. yet" and has really helped her see that it's okay to make a mistake on the cello and try again. When the LAUSD cello really began to fall apart Kevin also helped us navigate buying a beautiful and affordable used cello from the LA Violin Shop during their yearly garage sale. His advice has been so helpful and I feel my daughter will mostly likely be able to stick with this instrument over the next few years because of the foundation he's helped her build. She's excited to go to lessons every week, which is such a different experience than I had as a kid! It's really pleasant to sit in the waiting area every week when my daughter has her lesson. They have water and snacks as well as a bathroom in a comfortable sitting area. The parking lot is super easy and my kid loves the aquarium shop next door. It really helps motivate her; she loves looking at the fish after a lesson! Thank you for such an easy and affordable way to make learning a new instrument accessible to children. read more

Thank you PMA for introducing our son to piano! He started taking weekly lessons shortly before he turned 5 years old, and looks forward to coming every week. He has made tremendous improvements in just 3 months, and will sit at the piano and practice his scales and music he learned in his classes. Tom Ameen is a wonderful teacher! I selected Tom because of his extensive background in Disney piano music (and as a big Disney fan, it was a no brainer). Tom is kind and patient, he encourages my son to challenge himself without being too pushy. The pace is just right and does not feel overwhelming at all. Tom and my son have a great bond, and I like that they are very respectful to one another. I particularly appreciate that Tom writes summary notes after each class so that I know what to practice with him at home. My son feels confident at the piano and it's been SUCH a joy to see him improve week by week. He feels proud when he completes a challenging piece. I like that the school also puts on bi-annual recitals, which is such a great way to overcome stage fright. I hope by end of the year my son would be ready to participate. So, I had a free drum class this past weekend, the instructor was super kool. He was friendly, he made me feel very comfortable and I had a blast. I was all over the place but he made sure that I didn't lose my confidence and he rolled out some great exercises for me to work on in 30 minutes! Unlike other places, he actually had me playing instead of talking about it, he had me do it! No pressure. :) I will go back and take his class in 2025. I wish they had a system where you are not required to do automatic debit card payments. Well, they do but of course it's extra. I understand this is thing these days, but I just don't want companies going into my accounts at will. Otherwise, I would have signed up that day. The parking was great when I went, I guess it varies depending on the time you go, but it worked out for me. The rates are affordable and Andres A. is an amazing instructor who I can tell loves what he does and will help you become an amazing drummer. The facility is clean and friendly, the receptionist, Marissa is a doll, very helpful and professional. A great place to hone your skills or to learn a new musical skill. My 8-year-old daughter has been attending PMA every week for a little over a year now. We originally came here for voice lessons, but she found her passion with piano. I love that you have the flexibility to choose between various musical instruments. My daughter's teacher, Susan, is absolutely amazing. I couldn't have asked for a more patient and kind instructor. She taught my daughter, within a handful of sessions, how to read music, play songs, and feel comfortable with the piano. She's always encouraging and challenging her in the most gentle ways. I love the flexibility PMA offers for rescheduling sessions with various instructors. Sometimes, if my schedule changes and I cannot see Susan, my daughter also has sessions with Dei. He is also a really great teacher and has very high energy and is good at keeping her engaged when learning techniques/reading music. I love how well the teachers work with children.
