Okay little thrift store. Books were very well priced as I'm sure other things were but it felt a bit dingy and not very welcoming.

If you cannot contain your dogs in your business from pursuing customers and tell your customers that are holding their small dog that your dogs are friendly but complain but their dogs that's the problem. I walked in holding my small shitzu and your dogs would not stop following me and not allowing us to shop and your employee that did not know how to stop talking and followed me around the store along with two dogs following me telling me dogs can't be here if they bite. Cool little spot with some parking out front. The staff here are super chill and friendly, which adds to the experience. Though it's a small thrift store, it's packed with way more items than your average Goodwill. The prices are reasonable, and when you find something cool or useful, it feels great to make a purchase here. Lately, many other stores, especially in the city, have hiked their prices so high that buying new sometimes feels like the better option. Thankfully, this place stays fair and affordable. Very eclectic thrift store in Tahoe. There's quite a lot of stuff here, from books, DVDs, shoes, clothes, some water sports gear, some house decor goods, etc. Prices seemed reasonable like $1-$10+ for most things. I didn't spend too much time here but seems like it would be fun to browse around. I don't think you'll be finding designer stuff here but there are a lot of random eclectic things here. Small parking lot in the front that is shared with other businesses. There is also some street parking nearby as well as a public parking lot around the corner. read more

The only category that seemed a little high was clothing but it is a diverse selection. Lots of gear and useful household, camping, and sports items if you forgot to bring it. I have tried thrifting before, but the thrift stores I visited were places that was very run down, a little scary, and a little smelly. This one though was different and I actually found clothes that were brand name and in good condition. I found like a faux sherling coat by Calvin Klein for $15 and a North face 1/4 zip pull over long sleeve for $7.50. They also have used winter gear like snowboarding boots, skis, snow jackets, gloves, etc. Just an fyi, it seems like they don't wash or at least dust off the clothes, because I see dirt on some jackets and I also found a lift ticket from 2004 attached to the zipper. But that's ok, you are in a thrift store! They have two changing rooms and cool stickers like supreme, adidas, Nike, etc. which is greatfor those who like to cover their boards or hydroflasks. Quick tip, it's cash only! I had to go back the next day because I didn't have cash. But the store was nice enough to hold my things for me till the next day! read more

Love love love thrift, consignment and flea markets!! This spot is in Tahoe City across the street from the Boatworks Mall. It was down the street before it moved to a nicer, larger locale. It's truly amazing some of the great cast offs/ finds that others donate! I've purchased art, ski clothing, belts, purses... I could go on and on. I also donate my stuff too. Mighty fine shop to explore. We were taking a short day trip up north and happened to drive by this location. The outside really intrigued us, we were too tempted to see what was inside. Decided to turn around and make a quick visit. Areas felt a bit cramped and hard to get a good look at the items with it being so enclosed. But that should express to you how large of variety and impressive inventory this spot actually had. We probably could have spent the next few days trying to take it all in. The worker was very helpful, and kind. Directed us to numerous items to make further inspections. Definitely would like to make a return trip and be able to peruse a bit longer. Pass it on thrift is a very cool store and has awesome clothes, but the customer service was horrible. I went up to the cash register to pay, and the total was $44, I did not want to spend that much so I asked to return a item, the woman took it back, and the new total was 24, I had 23 and asked if I could pay with 23, because it would be a hassle to give her 40 and give me change, she said "theirs a reason we have the cash register, to give change" I was like ok, and gave her the 40 dollars. When she went to give me back my change she threw it and walked away, I was a little stunned so I took the money and left. I just thought it was rude and nasty to do that to a customer who is paying you for your product. Not that big of a deal but please treat your customers with respect. read more

I stop in here a lot. So much so that I even have a Spotify playlist named "Thrift Shop" with songs I've Shazamed while shopping here. They're always playing good stuff. Sometimes I find some cool vintage-y finds. I wish I found more clothing that I liked but it's usually housewares. Heather the owner is always friendly and funny in her off-beat, witty way. I can see how the humor / dry / straightforwardness of some employees could rub some people the wrong way... but I get it and appreciate it!! I like when being a good, regular customer at times pays off in small ways and Heather is good at that. read more

I would like to start by saying I love this place. We almost always find something and it's one of my kids' favorite places to go to when we visit family there. The last few times we've been there, they had a box of items with stickers and photos of at least one pair of nude women's breasts. I get that they want to support "free the nipple" movement and they are totally allowed to do that. My issue is that it is in the front corner of the store and at eye level for my kids. I feel frustrated about it since I do feel it should be a family decision of what level of nudity I want my kids exposed to and it's truly the last place I'd expect to need to consider the issue. If the owner reads this, please consider moving that box away from kid eye level in the future. This is truly my only (and recent) qualm. We adore this shop on all other levels. read more

Yhe prices were fair and the selection was great. However, when we were in line checking out one of the employees was setting down a poster preparing to roll it for a customer who was purchasing it. At this time the employee's happy go lucky and excited dog decided to wag their tail and approach the employee. The employee began to yell at the dog and then aggressively grabbed the dog by the collar and neck picking it up off of the floor (I'm talking about like a 40 pound dog here). She then proceeded to hit the dog and yell at it. It then went to cower in a corner when a man, I'm assuming her boyfriend or friend or something, delicately said that he would take the dog away and seemed a little perplexed by the aggressive behavior. this all occurred right at the cash register with multiple customers observing this behavior. As a customer, this was an entirely inappropriate and disturbing situation to observe. I cannot believe that this is how someone treats their pet that they bring to work every day. Especially a dog that seems generally well-behaved and well intending. I cannot imagine what happens behind closed doors and I would prefer not to. I would like to make management aware of this situation and I hope that this employee learns to conduct themselves in a more professional manner. And maybe doesn't bring their dog to work if they can't handle typical dog behavior appropriately in the workplace. read more

I am shocked and upset after leaving this thrift shop. In honor of the 4th, I purchased an American flag. A very nice woman helped me get the flag down from its hanging place in the front. I purchased the flag and was beginning to fold it (taught by the Girl Scouts) when an employee RIPPED it out of my hands and said to my friend, "She must be new here, she doesn't know how to fold 'Old Glory'." She continued to fold the flag and look straight at me. She handed me back my flag and left. I left this place feeling as if my citizenship and allegiance to this country was being questioned. I am a proud third generation Hispanic of Mexican heritage and I feel that I was disrespected because of my appearance. Will not be supporting this business in the future. read more

The lady who works here is very cool and friendly. This review is for the short dude who worked there today. Bought a small tarp cover that was in a box, wanted to take a peak to see the edges. Little guy starts himming and hawing about opening the box, said you know how to read and told the lady not to open the box. She ignored him and helped us out anyway, we ended up taking the item. Anyone that has a problem with the staff, selection, or prices here is either a fool, a hack, or probably some sort of corporate shill, spreading disinformation, and furthering the addenda of their overlords. Especially if you waste your time writing something Out of spite, your definitely a A Russian bot. I am however convinced the staff are some sort of group of extraterrestrial beings trying to impersonate humans, and I gotta say they aren't doing a great job. I'm pretty sure the leader of the group chose the form of a dog because in their study of the human race, they observed humans pick up dog feces so obviously k9s the rulers. Anyways if you see the black dog roaming around yelling at his minions you'll understand. The rest of the "staff" are strange yet mesmerizing in their own ways. While they have not mastered all human mannerisms the loud blonde one seems to be the ambassador of sorts, and is proficient in most communication modes. In my opinion customer service can make or break a business. We wandered into the store and we were looked at but never greeted. Ok, no biggie maybe she's the silent type. The store had some good stuff as we looked around. We found an item to purchase and my 2 year old wanted to hold it. So she wandered up a few steps before I did and wanted to put the item on the counter. The gal behind the counter asked if we were ready to check out, we replied that we were not quite ready. " Well then she can't put it on the counter" was her response. Ok? My 2 year old of course doesn't quite understand and tries anyway. "She can put it in a basket" the gal said several times as I took the item from my daughter so she wouldn't put it on the counter. We chose to put it back and leave. It seemed silly to make a big deal about something so simple, the store was empty besides us. Not like the wrong person was going to take it home. We said goodbye as we left and got no response. If the purple haired young lady is an employee then she needs a lesson in customer service. If she is the owner, then I wish the store good luck. read more

As a business owner, a local, and a thrift store lover...I am truly disappointed by the service I received today (1/23/19). The older lady with the brown hair (who works only two days here) was so unprofessional and unpleasant. Not only did she lash out at me for asking to hold my items behind the counter until I was done shopping but she was belittling three other times in front of other customers and it was downright embarrassing and hurtful. From one adult to another, we're trying to teach our children and youth to be nice, to be respectful, and to be good people... lady who works two days at Pass It On Thrift, please be nice, respectful, and a good person to others! -Be a better role model and stand up member of our beautiful community.
