This is a cute gift shop in Truckee that sells jewelry, ceramic goods, clothes, books, accessories, stationery, etc. I came in because I wasn't expecting the weather to be so cold and needed to find a jacket quickly. They only had one type of jacket but when I tried it on I loved it, so I got it. The store associates were friendly and helpful. If you need to find someone a gift in a pinch there's a lot of great gift ideas here from local artisans. read more

Bespoke is located in central historic Truckee and is easy to find. It's this cute little shop filled with all sorts of custom home goods, art, travel, toiletries, treats and more. I grabbed only a bag of salted black licorice (it's bloody amazing!) but i could have found a lot more had my credit card not been exercised so heavily most of a December. It seems the perfect spot to find a gift or a special item for yourself. The staff was friendly and helpful, and it was pretty busy, even on a weekday. I see this as the kind of über cool store you'd find in Portland or even our very own midtown. Looking forward to checking it out again when I've recovered from the holidays! read more

I LOVE THIS STORE!!! All the employees are extremely friendly and helpful. Definitely an added bonus to the great atmosphere of the store. Everything is unique and special in its own way. Very cute shop in historic Truckee. Wide and beautiful selection of jewelry, men and women accessories, home decor, art, textiles, stationery, ceramics, toys, kids books and even terrariums. Yes, it is a little pricey but on the bright side, the inventory features one of a kind items made by independent artisans. They are unique, hand-crafted, locally made or made in the US. I got a very cute leather bracelet with a hand-written inspirational quote. I came in to inquire about a scarf that was in the window if it was for sale. One lady wasn't very friendly and told me 'No! that took 20 hours to make by hand. No way! You are more than welcome to try to make one back here' Ok, OK I get it. You shouldn't put items in the display window that are not for sale. Save everyone some time. I was a wanderer that day and Bespoke spoke to my soul. The paper crafts, the textiles, the art and well, the everything. From the first step in, I knew that my wife and friend and I would all find things in the shop to catch our attention. The shop is filled with art and textiles and clothing from local artisans. Everything in the shop is either unique in and of itself or a unique take on something common. It's like walking into Etsy in real life. Oddly enough though, I've only purchased a few things. I can't bring myself to pay some of the prices. I found a button up short sleeve shirt I was in love with. The price was $120. There's no way I can spend that much despite how awesome the design is. Some prices are quite reasonable for the craftsmanship and others seem a bit elevated. This is however the best store, hands down, to window shop in!! read more

I WANT IT ALL. Just tear everything down and deposit it in my non-existent Simple Living magazine fake life that I imagine. The buyers for this store took the time to really pick out non-mass produced goods that really bring Tahoe living to life, from tiny botanical terrariums to hand-stitched images of mountains on flour sack napkins to lovely hand-made art. This kind of boutique does not offer graceful living on the cheap. OH NO. Gurrrrrrl, you're going to pay for it. But if it helps you live out your Pinterest fantasies, go for it. read more

So impressed with this shop! I was windows shopping with my sisters when one exclaimed, "it's like everything I've ever seen and wanted on Etsy." Beautiful clothes, jewelry, home goods, candles, stationary, beauty products that are a hipster's dream. I don't even mean that in a bad way, it was everything I aesthetically love. The shop keeper was SO nice, and I was pleased that while somethings were pricy, there were also affordable little gems (got a lovely card and some chap stick (MUST for this dry climate). read more

I don't live in Truckee but go up several times a year to see a friend and every time I save my money for shopping in Bespoke. Gifts for special birthdays and gifts for me - gotta take care of me. Among other things I am the proud owner of an indestructible 2 year old Goertzen purse (I have been known to destroy purses within months) and various necklaces and earrings made from local artists. I've also left this store with numerous cards and small gifts for those people who mean so much that it's hard to shop for them. In addition, met Heather several times (when in with my friend) and she is a kind, down to earth person just making the world better. You can see that in the books that are for sale along with the support of regional artists. Highly recommend. read more

I got my lady an awesome card here. The shop is really expensive, and the items are very artsy fartsy, and hipster. I would never ever pay $220 for a pair of jeans. That I could get at work world, or a similar work apparel store. But I assume this crap is for those rich wanna be hipster thugs who like to pop oxy, and live off mommy, and daddy's money. You know the Mackle Moore mega poser lammo type... Anyhow, the greeting cards here are pretty awesome. And I've been looking for an awesome card to give my GF for the better part of a month! One of the coolest shops along Donner Pass Road in Truckee...the shop is filled with so many unique, handmade and one of a kind items that you can't find anywhere else. You will find yourself wanting to take your time to see everything. There are items for your home, jewelry, natural skin and body care products, books and children's items. This is a cute store. Wouldn't want to sound repetetive, but there are definitely things that are pricey. However, you could almost expect upon entering that it'd be that way. I mean, you are in Truckee...pretty touristy. So nothing out the norm of a touristy area. I enjoyed browsing around and found the cashier to be super friendly and super helpful. I only walked out with a Hawk & Field lip balm. I left mine at home, as in Las Vegas home and was dying for some balm on my lips. Lol. Sadly, I got caught up in the feel of the store I failed to.thoroughly read the ingredients that it wasn't until 2 days later, I realize the lip balm was making my lips feel swollen because it contained macadamia nut oil! Nut allergy here. Anyway, the store is spacious enough to navigate in with a stroller. It is kid friendly, just don't forget to watch your kids, folks. It was worth the drop-in to browse around. A great little shop in downtown Truckee we stumbled upon while waiting for our dinner order a few doors down. A lot of unique items and great gifts. My husband got a few cups and I got a cute leather bracelet. There seemed to be only 1 employee working and maybe 15 customers in the shop but she greeted everyone and was so kind and helpful. Truckee is getting so fancy that my fiancé and I have started calling it Truckée (pronounced Troo-KHAY rather than Truck-EEE.) With its gourmet restaurants, seven days a week paid parking, and shops like Bespoke, this is not the I-80 truck stop that I remember it to be. I've been here twice and ogled over most of the stuff here, and I don't love shopping, so there's something just appealing about this place and their curated gifts and objects. There's a decent selection of John Muir's writings and guides to the Sierra Nevadas in addition to the homemade soaps and delicate jewelry that you'd expect at a cutesy shop. As Anthony C notes, the card selection is fantastic. I also have to give a shout out to the artisan hot chocolate (I mean, cocoa) which made for a great gift for my to-be mother in law. Lovely stuff and people promoting the shop locally movement. And do, if you can, as these are things you won't find at Target (I mean, Targée.) read more

Bespoke is the maker store of your dreams. If you love artisan jewelry, handmade pottery, painting, and knitting and much more - this is the place for you. While I was in love with their previous location (in particular that cool book page wall) I really like that their new location is more central and has a craft store in the back. Last time I visited, I was looking for new knitting needles and came home with new earrings, a mug, and unfortunately no needles. If I owned a store, this would be what I would dream it would look like! The decoupaged wall of vintage book pages with the stenciling on top was a look I would love in my own home! Then, add vintage typewriters,incredibly unique merchandise, and cheerful staff to make it one of the coolest shops I've ever been in. I loved seeing some of my favorite stationary brands here, these are ones I usually have to find online. I wanted to buy everything in this shop and would have if I wasn't trying to watch my budget. There were some incredible Tahoe jewelry pieces I will be putting on my wish list. Don't hesitate to stop in here and browse or let browsing turn to buying. You won't regret it! read more

This store has a gorgeous selection! Everything is ridiculously expensive but has that one of a kind look and feel. I bought a gorgeous ornament / porcelain sign from here and had to justify dropping $16 on it. I could easily spend a ton of time in here looking at all of the wonderful items. The cashier was perfectly pleasant while I was checking out. The staff gives you space while you are shopping which is nice. This is a great spot to buy lovely gifts for yourself and others. read more

I have a huge crush on BESPOKE. If you walk through their doors, you'll know what I am talking about. Cute, hand crafted items that are made with tons of love. I had been eyeing this joint for a while and finally made it to Truckee. I scooped up some California inspired necklaces, cards, pillows, and ceramic quote tiles. Not only did I purchase for myself, but I purchased gifts others. The staff is not overly attentive, which I appreciate. I Just received a Kat+Roger ceramic tumbler I purchased via phone order, Jess helped me out and made the process super easy. One of my favorite stores in Truckee. The selection is different and artistic. I enjoy getting gifts here because I know much of the merchandise comes from local artists in the area. I often go in just to see the displays too! They have done a beautiful job with the space and customer service is always great. I enjoy this shop very much. LOVE,love, love this shop! It's a perfect shop to buy something for someone who has everything, a best friend, or someone who doesn't like your typical, boring stuff. They have wonderful jewelry, a small selection of high quality clothes, terrific cards, wonderfully insightful plaques,ornaments, etc. Some of the items were really quite reasonable while others were pretty pricey, but that usually comes along with high quality or handmade items. The people working were very friendly and even sent us away with a cute little gift box and ribbon. This spot will be my must-visit every time I'm in Truckee. Bespoke is amazing. Window display always say come in and visit. I love the displays and they are so creative. The ceramic hanging signs are my favorite and so inspirational. Check them out. They make great gifts. The owners are always so friendly and welcoming. It is fun to bring friends to this store-they are always impressed. Great place to purchase gifts. I've been to Bespoke a number of times and always find something creative and interesting to look at or buy. Most of the items are hand/artesian made or unique and there is a lot of Tahoe related merchandise. The owner is outgoing and friendly. Meet the Business Owner: Heather R.

Heather grew up in the hills of Sonoma County and opened her first shop when she was just 16. After attending school in San Francisco for fashion design in 2002, she opened a design studio in Point Reyes, CA where she did custom clothing and alterations. Heather moved to Truckee in 2004 and has since worked with other local artists to help cultivate a vibrant arts community in Tahoe. Bespoke is Heather's third business in Truckee and it is a realization of her dreams.

All materials / clothes were easy to grab down and try on. They had a small fitting room to try on tshirts and other items. They had a great selection of hats with awesome designs but at $35 for a snapback they were over my budget. I was also disappointed that the design that caught my eye, a ski lift, wasn't available in any of the designs on the floor. Perhaps because we are moving into the summer season of apparel but a bummer to miss out on a sale because you have a design on the wall but not on the floor. Salesperson was helpful when we made it to the counter with our purchase but did not really engage us before then. When I went to the register to pay for the sticker my wife wanted I saw a great phone case. The design was a pattern of all of their icons on a black background. The case was simple in design but had a good weight and stuffiness to it. Price point was $25 which is not too bad for the design and quality. I'd like to check this shop out again in winter and see if they have more of their winter themed designs available. In the meantime I am enjoying my new phone case.

If they don't have something or if there is something you are looking for talk to the wonderful staff and they will offer suggestions or help get you what you are looking for! For starters, the first thing i hear when i walked in was the two employees talking negatively about a previous customer who came in. They weren't trying to conceal their conversation or be professional; they were loud and didn't have a care who heard. Additionally, the girls working there somehow made me feel like i was... intruding, simply by being a shopper. I say this because they did not acknowledge me while i was there. No "hello", "finding everything okay?", "thank you for shopping", "bye, have a nice day!"... literally nothing. Even when i would go up to ask questions, it would take an uncomfortable amount of time before they paused their casual conversations with one another to acknowledge me, resulting in me standing there, waiting, with a pile of clothes in my arms (this happened TWICE in the 15 minutes i was there). I wanted to buy a couple things but was so turned off by the whole interaction that i decided not to give my $$ to this establishment. Overall, the sense of entitlement in this space was insane. Not once have i have this experience shopping in DT Truckee, and based on other reviews from this place, it's evident this is a longstanding issue. I hope the owner makes some employee changes in the near future.

The prices were also reasonable. It was similar to a boutique you would find in SF but not nearly as expensive. Definitely will shop there again.

I came into this store after going to the North Star location which had superb customer service, and they told me about this location so I was curious to what kind of clothes they had here since I fell in love with the items I bought the day before. All their clothes are very high-end but very pricey. Their boutique had a variety of clothes in an assortment of colors. I felt that it stood out from others I've gone to. All the material was so soft, and the designs were unique in their own way. But you can tell everything was of great quality. I was told that they did free jean alterations with purchase, so I decided to try on some jeans since I'm 4'10 and always need to get my jeans altered. I was kindly escorted to a dressing room after being asked what type of jeans I desired. Within the large stack of jeans I chose 2 with the help of Christy who helped me throughout the process. She also helped me order another pair of jeans from Los Angeles. She took down my information for the alternations, and shipped them to my house for free! I just got the first two pairs of jeans last week and they fit me perfectly! And there was a cute note in the box from Christy telling me she shipped me the first two to make sure I got them as quick as possible and that the 3rd one would be well on its way after coming from LA. I'm super excited, and would love to go there again. Both locations of this boutique I've gone to I've had a wonderful experience and great customer service.

This shop has a small footprint but fits a niche market here in town. Unfortunately I have more jeans than I could ever need at this point in my life so I didn't spend long in this shop.
