This restaurant was well located for me while I was staying in the Plaza Saldanha area. It was not difficult to find and, in fact, perhaps easier to reach by foot than by car, since it was located in a nicely kept urban cul-de-sac. Parking looked like it might be at a bit of a premium. The storefront was in a walk-up, turn-of-the-century style facade with a warm and inviting appearance. The entry area was narrow with tables lining the walls for 3 or 4 meters, which then opened into a larger seating area with a decent capacity and a full bar overlooking the floor. The decor was conducive to a nice, relaxed ambiance. There also might have been another level to this establishment, but I did not explore that possibility. I was seated quickly and without any fuss in the narrow area of the restaurant, which was a little quieter than the main portion of the dining room. It was moderately busy and I found the less populated portion of the room to my liking. My waiter tended to me fairly quickly and did a good job during my entire visit. The menu tended toward Goan regional specialties, which was a nice twist. That is not something I often find and it is also ties the menu to their Portuguese location. I decided to try the Chicken Chacuti, a Portuguese influenced dish with coconut, ginger, garlic and other spices. I had never had this before, but it sounded quite intriguing. I opted to accompany it with rice and Peshwari Naan. This combination was wonderful as the sweetness of the bread offset the slightly spicy tone of the main dish. I was generally quite satisfied with my fare. I finished this with a decent Masala Chai. The total bill was €25.30, which included my main and the accompaniments, a glass of house red, a water and the tea. I thought this was reasonable considering the quality of the fare. This was roughly $28 USD with the exchange rate at the time. If you are in the area and fancy Indian fare, I would not hesitate to recommend this spot. read more

Can take a woman out of Vancouver but after what was supposed to be a my first real vaca in a very long time, was stressful but found this Indian restaurant and it's v good. I only tried paneer tikka masala which pretty good that I'm taking home what I couldn't finish knowing I may not be able to eat it as I'm staying at a hotel so chances of being able to warm it up are slim?! read more

They are definitely the best restaurant serving Indian food. Our group was very diverse and everyone enjoyed the food. Service was friendly but a bit slow. The portions were pretty decent and they start off the meal serving pappadoms with chutneys. The taste was not authentic but I guess they have to make do with the ingredients they can get. We were visiting Lisbon for 36 hours at the end of our Italy trip. We were looking for some home cooked food. Having been to Goa in India I was really excited to try Chicken Chacuti which is a Indo-Portuguese dish. Each time I visit a new country I also must try my staple Chicken Tikka Masala. The Chicken Chacuti was very unique with great flavors, I could taste the ginger, coconut and spices. I could have handled a little more spice...we finished this one off. The Chicken Tikka Masala was decent, my suggestion is to not have so much spice on top of the dish as a garnish, instead cooked in and blended. This created much of the spice in our mouth as whole pieces which was not pleasant. Service was great, we were in a hurry to catch a flight and they accommodated to us and had the food rushed out. Great Wine and Beer selection. The garlic naan was delish. I would give this place a try again and try something different and order the Chicken Chacuti again! read more

We were seated right away. The atmosphere was nice, not dimly lit. We ordered chicken tikka masala it was on the bland side and the chicken was tender and delicious. The chicken Korma was sweet, unusually sweet (the server did note it was sweet). We also had plain naan and it was great. The mango lassi was terrific. read more

Looking for a decent restaurant near my university, Yelp suggested that I should take a look at Passage to India. Me and my guests were pleased to have done so! This nice looking restaurant serves Indian dishes. The starters were really amazing. We had chickenbits, which were still moist and had fantastic flavour; and a very light and fresh dish made out of yoghurt, coriander, fresh union and crispy flakes (of which I forgotten the name of). The main dishes (we all had a curry dish) were not exceptionally, but good enough of what you might expect from an Indian restaurant. Also, the service was excellent! Very, véry friendly people and no long waiting. The only real downside I thought was the TV: the sound was off and it showed nothing of importance, so why bother putting it up there, I thought. But for the food and service, you certainly should give this a go! read more

While my hubby and his son went to watch the FIFA game in the center of Lisbon, me, my daughter, and step daughter definitely decided to have Indian food Best place I've had when it comes to naan....mmmm. The presentation of the food was excellent. You will not find this hidden gem unless you are looking for it. Really tasty and affordable Indian food. Spices are done authentically, none of that mild nonsense you find in other restaurants. Every bite here has its own unique kick, which makes basically everything super yum! Drinks are a bit overpriced but I loved their selection of Indian beers! Lunch special is amazing- but mine was served a bit tepid. It's a buffet-style lunch special, though (except that they serve you), so I can see why that was. It would have been perfect otherwise, though. I think a la carte dinner here would be mind blowing. read more

Wandered across this place late on a Tuesday. No reservation. Place was pretty packed. Extremely nice host/waiter aaid 10 min. 8 min later we were seated. Menu is very easy to understand. Even has a glossary for novice Indian patrons. After a few questions we ordered dishes from the very mild... chicken curry...to King Prawn Vindaloo. Ordered plain traditional Nan as well as chilli garlic nan. Every dish was excellent. Vindaloo was spicy but not overwhelming. Great flavor. Nan was hot, soft, perfect. Staff was very attentive. Food flavour is good but the waiting time is rediculous. For a veg biryani and chilli paneer we had to wait over an hour. Also BEWARE of their papad scam. They will bring you papad before you place your order and then charge you for it!
