Great location. Our Uber dropped us at the front door from the airport. Our hotel called ahead to make a reservation but the restaurant said we didn't need one. We walked right in, were greeted and seated with kindness. Our food arrived about 4 minutes after ordering and it was fresh! Food and service were excellent. We had veg samosas, sag paneer, Chana masala, naan, and chair.

We were not very hungry,so we ordered light. Samosas were fabulous, not very heavy. Garlic naan was amazing as was the vegetable curry dish. It wasn't very crowded but I suspect it is low season for tourists. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

I have eaten Indian in US countless of times and London as well. This is the best Indian food I have ever had in my life, absolutely lives up to the hype. The rice was absolutely perfect, the lamb curry was to die for and the garlic naan was impeccable. Instead of the Belém Tower, it should be named the Indian Gate. The food and service at India Gate is superb! Our family went after a long day of walking in Belem. We were tired and hungry and looking for something close to the apartment we are staying at. We found this gem hidden on a tiny hilly block! Wow!! Both the chicken and vegetable samosas were spot on and piping hot out of the fryer. We also had chicken tikka and lamb korma. Delicious and memorable indian dinner in Lisbon . Very close to our hotel and walking past during the day a beautiful aroma of spices made us decide to try the place dinner . Enough of fish ,sea food and pastas . We were so impressed by the customer service and the quality of all the dishes . The service was top notch , the owner and staff are very knowledgeable polite and went above and beyond to make it a great experience for our family . Will be here for the next 2 days and definitely eating here again. Chili chicken curry , chicken do Pyaza , mixed meat platter were all so yummy, the bread / Roti was crisp and just perfect with our meal. Indian beer kingfisher was ice cold and the Minty lemonade complimented our dinner. We loved the flavor and taste so much that we ate here the next 3 days . A close family friend and family also joined us the 3rd night . We also tried their saag chicken , pork vindaloo and chicken jalfrezi. This was a nice gem of a restaurant we found on an evening stroll. Originally we were looking for another Indian restaurant, but we're not sure where it was. We ordered a bunch of stuff- salad, Peshawar Naan, Veggie Biryani, Veggie Curry, some wine. We had an amazing time. The staff was super nice and accommodating- the lights were way too bright and we asked them to be dimmed because it felt like being in an office. It seemed like a popular place for locals to gather as well. We really enjoyed all the food we had- we had to bring it home because we ordered a lot! Great price as well! I will say this. The waiter was sexist. I know how Indians can be and all but he pretty much only asked my male friend his opinion and wanted to talk to him and brought him the bill thinking the man should pay. I understood this and the culture and he was a recent immigrant coming to work and there was a language barrier as well. I did remove one star for this because literally I was the only woman in the whole restaurant full of men and I felt like I was being treated as an inferior. This is probably the best indian food we've eaten in Europe!! We found it on trip advisor. We ordered masala Papad, chicken samosas, chicken tikha and Shish Kabob, all were excellent. And that was just appetizers. Dinner the was very good also but lamb vindaloo and the butter chicken were the best I've ever eaten. If you are craving indian food this place is a must go too place. This was the best Indian food me and my boyfriend have ever had. Unfortunately there is not a lot of great Indian food back in the United States at least not where we live, but this was a real treat. The service was amazing the waiter was very cordial and friendly and he spoke excellent English. I ordered the vegetable curry which had a wonderful flavor and a nice variety of vegetables like peas, cauliflower, and a few other things. My boyfriend ordered one of the chef recommended dishes, chicken Jalfrezi. He absolutely loved it and if you like a little heat this is an excellent choice. We had rice with cashews and raisins, and garlic naan which was incredible. I would also highly recommend the Indian ice cream! Ours was mango and goat milk if I am not mistaken, formed into a little cake divided into little slices perfect for sharing and making things fair ;) Overall this was absolutely worth going to.
