I really enjoyed my two experiences at this place before moving out of Utica. My teeth were cleaned by a very nice blonde hygienist. She then volunteered to clean my retainer in a special machine, which was a first for me. Great customer service. I have some issues with mouth pain and slightly crooked teeth. I fired a bunch of questions at Dr. Coy about wisdom teeth, the process of breaking the jaw, braces, and retainers, and he had great answers for all of them. My only complaint was that he did not seem very thorough; he inspected my entire mouth in about 45 seconds. Didn't test my gums or do a bunch of the tests that I have done at other dental offices. He seemed like he was in a huge rush to get out of the examination room.

Next time returning for the crown from Syr., waiting and told the crown hasn't arrived. Days later it comes in. Then the crown falls out, had to go back Dr.J puts it back on. Then the crown falls out again and he learns that they sold the business. The new doctor charges him $200 and tells him that the tooth needs an implant. Also, informs him many patients have crowns falling out. What a scam! Like a hit and run! Whatever it takes, just make the $$ and retire!

It is so unfair and heartless to let me continue in pain after a year when Dr. Candido promised to…read morework with me regarding paying for his service. All I wanted was to understand why he and the secretary on the phone kept saying it was illegal to provide me with the information to either have him paid or be reimbursed. I also wanted to know how was I supposed to submit a claim to my insurance company to get reimbursed for his services if he, or this mystery owner, were claiming it was my responsibility to complete and submit all necessary information on my own if they were refusing to provide the needed information to do so. I don't understand why they would refuse payment in full from the insurance company or allow me to be reimbursed after I paid for his services. Regardless of all that I had paid for the doctor's services by money order to ensure that Dr. Candido was paid for his services. I even had payment in full for the services he was to provide on March 8, when he neither showed up or called to the appointment. I don't understand why "the owner" would force me to see another provider while not even considering allowing Dr. Candido and I to see what could be worked out as he promised. He and the secretary promised to work with me, and she said he would take good care of me. He was exceptionally nice, put me at ease, and patiently explained everything to me. It's been so hard finding providers like that. It's unfortunate when the care is eliminated from healthcare and providers no longer care about patients but how they get their money no matter what the consequences for the patient. Such as refusing to allow me to be reimbursed and paying them in cash or, as I had, by money order. That's just plain heartless and really seems to be the norm rather than rare.
