All of our dogs are rescues and 2 of them are very sensitive. We knew that there was NO WAY that they would be comfortable in a traditional kennel environment. And we couldn't stand the thought of leaving them in a concrete kennel with very little time outside or with too little human interaction. Our dogs are very human oriented and are extremely spoiled in every way. Once we met Helen and Brian, we quickly realized that they possessed a rare combination of genuine love for animals, professionalism, and reliability that sets them apart from the rest. We knew that PPP was going to be the best place to board them, BUT they far exceeded our expectations - which were already very high! We were sent dozens of pictures of our besties having a good time, multiple times per day! Helen and Brian spent the mornings and evenings cuddling with our pack and giving them tons of one on one time. They were also treated to special kibble toppers to keep meal time interesting. They treated them just like their own family, which made a huge difference in us being able to enjoy our family vacation with zero worry. Our dogs have a few quirks that require a very experienced dog handler, and of course, they were more than equipped to handle this as well. They really take the time to understand each pet's unique personality, preferences, and needs, ensuring that they feel safe, comfortable, and cozy in their care. So here's the deal. If you're going to be out of town, they will go to your house, walk your dog, and throw in some play time. I got updates on Facebook of my little ones. As I live far away, I dropped my dogs off at Kimmer's. Thank goodness there was room. The dogs were spoiled. How do I know you ask? Well, I have one dog that will be happy no matter what. The other dog is a rescue and has some personality issues, which is reflected in her being terrified of everything. This little doggie was very calm when I went to pick her up. She let herself be picked up (which is a HUGE deal), and she was happy to show emotion when she saw me (she generally does not do that around people). It's amazing. Because I live 30 minutes away and had to rush home to get my dog during peak rush hour traffic, I proactively called ahead to let them know I was running late. Instead of showing any understanding for a working person trying to get medical attention for their pet, they were completely rigid. They strictly enforced a "grace window" policy, entirely dismissing the fact that they still had a full hour left before closing at 6:00 PM. To make matters worse, when we called to ask about payment options, the staff treated my wife with an absolute lack of respect. Their only solutions were entirely unrealistic for the average working person. They flippantly told me to just "reschedule" (which isn't easy when you work until 5:30 PM every day) or suggested I drop my dog off at 7:30 AM and leave her there until 6:00 PM. Why would I trust an establishment to watch my dog all day when they've already made it clear they don't care enough to do what they can to see her? This place operates like a rigid corporate machine, not a veterinary clinic that cares about animals or the people who love them. If you work a regular job or expect to be treated with basic respect and empathy during a stressful time with your pet, look elsewhere. They clearly do not care.

Wendigo is 18 years old and requires a LOT of special care -- she takes multiple medications and supplements, and she has a lot of quirky preferences to manage. Usually when we get home from a trip, it takes a few days to get her over the trauma of being left alone, but this time it was like we never left! Shirley was so good at keeping up with Wendigo's routine and loved on her so much, we could tell Wendigo had a great time while we were away. She was completely relaxed when we finally got home Shirley was great about sending us updates every day, with pictures, and followed every detail of our instructions we left for her. She even watered our patio plants and saved them from frying in the heat, even though we didn't ask her to. She's kind, sweet, funny, and you can tell she genuinely loves animals.
