**TL;DR: Recommended. Will repeat.**
**Ambiance**
The dining area was neat and clean. But seating was cramped with tables aligned next to each other. This is a touristy place for sure, and the majority of the patrons were tourists, but I also saw a few locals there as well. But being touristy has its benefits as well.
This was the only place in Venice that I found to have the menu in four different languages: Italian, English, French, and Spanish. Each item on the menu had a description written in all four different languages.
**Service and Staff**
Staff was super friendly. They were very courteous and welcoming. I hardly speak any Italian, but the staff knew English, and we had no problem communicating. Our server was very friendly and had some recommendations for us.
**Drinks**
Wine is served only by the bottle. There were four options, and all were reasonably priced (under 20 euros). I am sure that there was a 2X markup compared to buying the same bottle from the grocery store a block away, but that's the norm for buying a bottle at any restaurant. We ordered a bottle of Oste (see pic), which was a local wine. It was good table wine and went well with the pizza that I ordered.
**Food**
The food was a mixed bag, mostly good but with a few misses. We ordered a tomato, basil, mozzarella salad as a starter and pizzas, zucchini risotto, and pesto pasta for the main course.
The tomato-basil salad was nothing special and tasted exactly like something I would have thrown together very quickly if someone told me to make a salad using tomato, basil, and mozzarella. It was not bad but I wouldn't go for it again.
Both the pizza and the risotto were very good and everyone at our table enjoyed them. The pesto pasta was solid ok. Flavorful but not over-the-top-good. It had a single-tone flavor profile. While ordering, our server gently mentioned that the pasta came without any meat and asked if we wanted to add any proteins to it, which we declined. In retrospect, we should have listened and added some chicken to it. He knew what was coming and tried to warn us subtly. I think it would have tasted much better with some protein in it. The desserts turned out to be very good (see pic). At the end of the evening, we finished everything that we ordered.
**Overall**
Recommended. It was a pleasant experience, and I will repeat. However, I will be picky about what I am ordering. Next time I am there, I will keep it simple and just order pizza and beer (or wine). read more
