We were seated in a back area of the restaurant - perfect for our raucous crew, lol. Our waiter Leopoldo, was the BEST! So fun, engaging and efficient. Our food was good. Best in Venice? From the minute we walked through the door we were greeted with amazing service! Leo was our waiter and he recommended specific wines from the Veneto region which were delicious. I came here with 5 other girls who are studying abroad and we were all able to afford it so it's not too pricey. A wonderful little restaurant we experienced on our visit to Venice. The food was outstanding but what really won us over was the hospitality. Maximo Dana was great! He took care of us for lunch and dinner on Valentines For lunch I had Diabola and my wife had my wife spaghetti bolognese.. her lunch was amazing and my diabola... of course great!! For dinner on Valentines we had the lobster dinner (grilled to perfection) with vegetables and of course bread, and of course an antipasto Great experience and food to go with it. I stopped in Pane Vino I'm recommendation from another restaurant owner. That's when you know a place will be good. From what he explained to me Pane Vino is a chain restaurant, but each chain gets to choose their own menu. The only real part of the chain is the Vino. The decore of this place was quaint and I really liked the old beams in the ceiling. I decided to order the full menu also on the recommendation. It started out with a nice plate of prosciutto. Normally I'm not a fan of prosciutto but this was very delicate and not too fatty. My second course was a three color pasta. Each color seemed to have its unique flavor and each bite was a little different. Very simple but tasty. For my main course I went with the liver and onions on recommendation from my waitress because she said it was typical Venetian. I was a little wary about ordering that but it turned out to be really flavorful and the onions had a nice bite. For dessert it was tiramisu which was also good but it's not something to write home about. read more

I like good, tasty food, and everything the 7 of us had at Pane Vino met that standard. The sarde in saor appetizer was a huge salad of pickled shredded onions, raisins, pine nuts with lots of sardines - easily enough for four people to split. I had the filetto in green peppercorn sauce, which was rich, tasty and cooked as ordered. I tasted the tagliata tonno, the gamberoni which were fresh although not a huge amount of food, and the lasagne, all of which were first rate. The spinach with garlic and chili was likewise good although quite spicy. It was an excellent meal, although we didn't get the limoncello and cookies that others mentioned. read more

I went to Pane Vino with my family during our trip to Italy, It took us a good 20 minutes to find the restaurant which is located in a really small street but a search was totally worth it! We were seated by the owner who was really welcoming and kind. He explained the menu to us and gave his own recommendation. Of course, he suggested one of Venice's specialities: the liver. My dad had it and it was exquisite! It was served in a clear brought with onions and a side of roasted potatoes (it usually comes with polenta but my dad asked for potatoes instead and they were AMAZING). The brought was just so tasty and thee liver so tender and tasty. I usually hate liver but I have to admit I stole my dad a couple of bites!!! As for my mom and I, we shared a delicious salad which had fresh mozzarella cheese, walnuts and tomatoes with a beef tagliatella with balsamic vinegar. The mix of the meat and the salad was delicious. My sister had the pesto pasta with beef, but was disappointed with the size of the pieces of meat. For dessert, we shared a delicious brownie with fresh wipped cream and a ricotta cheese cake which was really light and fresh but a bit tasteless. In conclusion, I do strongly recommend this place, but mostly for meat dishes and salads since the pastas aren't home made. read more

We started with bacala and polenta, then I had the asparagus risotto and king prawns. All good, although the prawns were not enough for a standalone meal so really needed the first course tonight.
