fresh trofie pasta w pesto for 5 euros--cant beat that!
    Melissa C.

It's important to note that they only serve cooked pasta during lunch hours--12-2pm. The hours listed on google are when the store is open. Outside of 12-2pm, the store is open for you to buy their freshly made uncooked pasta and their sauces --- pesto, ragu, etc. They also sell dried pasta. The cooked pasta portion is quite large and only 5 euros :) I think they could be charging closer to 10 euros considering how fresh and delicious it is. There is no seating inside but tons of public seating outside since you're right by the beach! You can watch them make the fresh pasta behind the counter as well. Be prepared to wait in line :)

I was shocked to see that this place had no Yelp reviews as it was packed with seated customers feasting at each table with awesome looking dishes. We decided to come back later to try it out, and I am glad we came back. This not a tourist trap, but an unpretentious simple joint, but don't judge a book by its cover...this is an unpolished gem! Surprisingly, there must be an undiscovered artist in the kitchen: our plates were decorated with complex flavors. The crispy octopus was tender and simply delicous on a bed of potato and pumpkin mash, with a dab of pesto and pine nuts adorning one side, capers and olives, and roasted (?) cherry tomato that was amazing. Michelin-worthy! Do yourself a favor and try this place. The wine list is also night, and the view is heavenly at night.

This year, while visiting family, I decided to go to visit my friend Armando whom ownes this resturant and wanted to try his seafood menu. OMG!!!! I started with the Spritz cocktail very well done. The food is absolutely fantastic, deep fried seafood mix is crisp, dry and tasty. I got the tagliatelle with astice (a little lobster), absoutely the best. Armando, the owner, serves only fresh seafood, period. We finished with a homemade tiramisu that brings you to haven. The location deserves a separate comment. You are being seated on the top of the molo, the small Camogli's port. The view is breathtaking, the music in the background relax your soul and body and you are being served the best seafood ever, what can you ask more? Prices are pretty cheap considering the food quality and location. A myst go if you are in the area, don't miss this place. Bravo Armando!!

And we asked a local walking around town, and she also gave us 2, including Cucu, which made it an easy decision to check it out. They had a few tables inside, but all the tables were full or had a reservation. So we grabbed the only table for two that was left, outside. We started out with the Burrata and 2 glasses of wine. I ordered the Chateaubriand and my wife ordered the Pappardelle pasta with white beef sauce. We then finished, of course, with a tiramisu , which we shared. I do not think we could have made a better choice. Everything was fresh and absolutely delicious. And the bill was like a 50 spot , unbelievable. Camogli is a beautiful town along the Ligurian sea. This restaurant among many others is only minutes away from our hotel. The Hotel Cenobio dei Dogi. If you find yourself in Camogli Italy, I recommend checking out restaurant Cucu.

I'd mention one of the desserts, which was particularly good, the cremino del cucu, a mascarpone cream covered by a chocolate sauce. Absolutely spectacular. Highly recommend!

So we jammed on the brakes, parked in the lot across the street, and decided it was lunch time. After entering it was clear that Blue Marlin is every bit a working man's trattoria. Everyone in the place was leather skinned and wrinkled with dirty coveralls or paint splattered clothes. No tourists here. To my delight they were all gorging on huge plates of fish and pasta each of which looked pretty solid. It took us a while to get service but after about 5 or 10 minutes the waitress showed up. Poor girl, she was working about 20 tables by herself and bussing them as well. Oh yeah, I just remembered that she was also serving as a cashier. Christ, I never saw someone work so hard in a restaurant. Anyway, she recommended the fritto misto which we got along with a focaccina with salami and gorgonzola and a local ravioli called pansoti which was stuffed with pesto and covered with a creamy walnut sauce. Everything came out super fast and was delicious. The fritto misto had a nice assortment of seafood (squid, shrimp, anchovies, and baby octopus) and each piece had an awesome crispy coating. Perfectly fried, some salt, some pepper. Delightful. The pasta was really unique. It was a lot like a ravioli but much more delicate, almost like a wonton, and I have to say, it was novel to get the pesto as a stand alone filling rather than a sauce. Never had that before. The focaccina was a lot like a stromboli though a bit thinner than what I've seen in the past. The taste was amazing but it was really heavy with all that meat and cheese and was hard to work through consider the massive size of the other 2 dishes we got. The check came to 25 euros which is pretty good considering what you pay at most places in the area. Great value for the huge portions and quality food you get. Definitely recommended if you're in the Camogli area.
