Walking back toward Hotel Eliseo this afternoon, I passed what felt like a hundred different pasta spots. After enough walking to make my legs question every life choice they've ever made, I finally decided to stop at Pasta in Corso and it turned out to be a very wise decision. At that point, I wasn't just hungry I was negotiating with gravity. The legs were done, the pace was gone, and I needed a break more than I needed food. So I stepped inside. They hand me a menu that looks like it was written in ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics. After just leaving the Flaminio Obelisk, it almost felt fitting like Rome was doubling down on the theme. So I do what everyone does in 2026 I scan the menu on my phone and try to decode it like I'm defusing a historical puzzle. Eventually I land on a dish and just point at it Barney Fife style, hoping I don't accidentally order something like snails or something with too many surprises. Fettuccine al ragù bianco, porcini, tartufo e parmigiano. In my head I'm thinking okay, this is fettuccine, beef, mushrooms, and cheese I can work with that. At least that's the translation my brain gave me under pressure. Then reality hits a little harder my phone battery drops to 7%. I'm 1.5 miles from my hotel and relying on navigation to get me back. Suddenly I'm not just ordering pasta, I'm racing against digital extinction. I grab one quick photo, no time for social media, no time for anything else. Survival mode engaged. The dish arrives about 15 minutes later. And it looks outstanding. Steam rising, rich sauce, perfectly plated honestly one of those moments where you forget the chaos outside the plate exists. First bite hits and it's hot, deeply flavorful, and exactly what it needed to be. The kind of taste that shuts everything else off for a second. My taste buds basically threw a party like fireflies over a hot Alabama summer field. I didn't slow down after that. I finished the plate, paid the bill, and got moving because now it wasn't just dinner, it was a timed mission to get back before my phone gave up completely. Great little restaurant, excellent pasta, and a solid view of a lively Roman street while you eat. Sometimes the simplest stop turns out to be the best decision of the day. read more

Absolutely love this charming pearl of a restaurant! Pasta in Corso, what can I say besides - Absolutely mouthwatering, FRESH, HOMEADE PASTA!! As soon as you step inside you're greeted by the nicest, smiliest Italians. They welcome you into the restaurant in a very kind fashion. Making you feel right at home. The restaurant is cozy, but still very bright inside. They sell fresh Italian pastries and other nice items at the front glass counter. The restaurant has a section where you are able to physically watch the chefs make the pasta - which I found to be incredibly cool! All items can be made gluten free, which is nice for people who suffer from celiac disease. We ordered the following appetizer and entrées: Suppli cacio de pepe, recommended by our server. This was a deep fried rice ball appetizer with cacio cheese, black pepper and mozzarella - absolutely mouthwatering! After being in Italy for 2 weeks, I really wanted a Hamburger, and theirs did not disappoint! The burger was made perfectly to order and served with all the trimmings and an enormous amount of french fries that were piping hot, crunchy and delicous. The final entrée was the Maccheroni a la Norma. Such a simple, yet stunning dish of tomatoe sauce, salted ricotta, fried eggplant and basil. Truly remarkable. This restaurant has everything you want and so much more. Food is fresh, staff is great and location is excellent. Located across from the Piazza Navona in the centre of Rome. Ok, I know we were in Rome and surrounded by so many local restaurants here and there, but this seemed local and interesting and we were walking back to our hotel from visiting Vatican City, so we decided to stop in. This was actually one of our favorite meals in Rome. It appeared to be a local stop, with MANY local younger people eating and drinking. When we were dining, a couple came in to request a picture with the chef, which he obliged. What? Ok, should we look this place up. There are a few of these, like a franchise and their chefs are featured on their website. Up and coming perhaps? Unsure... My husband had the caprese, fresh bread and ravioli, I had the wild boar tagliatelle... so so good. We shared a bottle of wine and closed our meal with a lovely espresso. Okay, we needed a quick meal, so we popped into Pasta in Corso. This is a glorified fast food place. It has very cute décor - it is bright and cheerful - it is noisy - it offers no real service and the prices are the same as if you went to a good restaurant with great food and ambience. I ordered a Suppli Carbonara, which was really good. My husband ordered the four-cheese pizza - the pizza was barely cooked - the 4th cheese (parmesan) was sprinkled on after it came out of the oven. The server never came back to check on us. My husband ate it because he was hungry. Not sure why their ratings are so high unless they are posted by fast food lovers. Great, fast, inexpensive gluten free option in the center of Rome. They have a separate GF kitchen to prevent any cross contamination, and the GF pasta is served in a square plate instead of an oblong one. Not a very picturesque location but if you or your family has celiac, would highly recommend this place for a quick bite to eat. read more

We tried another exceptionally rated "fast food" pasta concept nearby but the immense line of people meant the demand caused them to skimp on cooking time as they cook beautifully dissolved fresh pasta in front of you. However seeing this restaurant with the same affordability compared most Roma restaurants attracted us & we happy to say our pasta experience was redeemed here! I'm usually a fan of Cacio e Pepe but I noticed carbonara being ordered far more often! And let me tell you, here established my first ever carbonara bar level experience & will match every carbonara pasta from here on out to this moment in Roma! Generous portion, beautifully set up, pieces of toasted pork, sprinkle of pepper & cheese. Goshhh so0o much better than it looks ughhhh! And pasta was cooked truly al dente, yummm. Mom copy-kat'd the neighbor with the fettuccine, cherry tomatoes & shrimps with pistachios. WHOA. Another hit! They have signs on their wall that say 100% gluten free, but the girls working pointed out a few items as gluten free, which was a bit confusing! Pizza wasn't very "authentic italian". Definitely more of a tourist trap. They made a poor attempt to cut the pizza and it was mangled trying to get a piece. Sauce wasn't very good. Crust wasn't good. The environment was just busy as it's right by the Pantheon. Go somewhere else. read more

The carbonara pasta noodles themselves were fine but the carbonara sauce and meat had a very fake taste to them and just weren't good. I figured how could any pasta in Italy really be bad but managed to find some. NOT LGBTQ+ FRIENDLY! We recently went to give this place a try. Unfortunately, their staff was so judgmental towards me and our same-sex marriage by literally pointing out us and speaking about us that we decided to leave prior to ordering. Body language, micro-aggressions, and facial expressions in general are universal in nature and require no language barrier to overcome. A shame too, I found most of Rome is more accepting than the United States actually and Rome in general has been a culture shock to the amount of LGBTQ+ visitors. read more

After a long day of travel we stumbled upon this restaurant because of their big sign that said gluten free. As someone with an intolerance to wheat I was very nervous about being able to find gluten free food abroad. For my first gluten free meal in Rome I was rather impressed. They had a whole list of gluten free pastas and desserts to enjoy. I ordered the gluten free Gnocchi alla sorrentina. It came out quickly and was piping hot. *** 1/2 *. I was looking for a quick bite near where I was staying in the Campo di Fiore a couple weeks ago. Pleasantly surprised by the delicious carbonara. I went back several days later. This time the cacio e pepo I ordered was lukewarm, so that the pasta was more than just chewy. The third time I went, I was disappointed again: I had to order two plates of pasta to feel full, and the ravioli were mediocre. I hit up a conversation with a fellow diner from Manchester (U.K.), whose trufle/pomodoro pasta was a large heaping compared to what I got--half the quantity? Do they recognize repeat customers (tourists)? In any case, they have a good 10 euro special any hour they are open. And Pasto in Corso is open an 8 minute walk to the Castel Sant'Angelo, on the main Victor Emmanuelle Avenue. A good bet for non-foodies like myself who want to spend time seeing the sights of Rome rather than spending time digesting a meal that might or might not "hit the right spot." read more

I noticed this place after I had eaten gelato, so I almost didn't go in. But I figured I ought to eat some real food and I stopped to look at their menu. They had my favorite, cacio e pepe, and the prices looked reasonable, so I stopped in. I had never had the pasta casareccia before, I had no idea what it looked like, but the pasta was fresh, made daily in house, so I didn't ask for a replacement. For the record it looks a little like shaved tubes, it's the perfect shape for holding finely grated cheese. The pasta and a bottle of water set me back seven euros, so it definitely met my cheap eats requirement. And, when the pasta arrived, it was delicious! The pasta was cooked perfectly, the cheese and pepper were perfectly proportioned to the pasta. It couldn't have been better! Cacio e pepe is my favorite pasta dish, seriously, the last ten nights I've had it eight nights for dinner (I mean it's Italy, you do have to eat pizza every once in a while, lol), and this is one of the top two versions. The store is small and in a stretch of road that makes it not extremely noticeable, but it's worth the hunting down. One thing I'm finding out in Rome is that the old adage big things come in small packages is definitely true of the great food here. I've now eaten here several times and had a couple more dishes.
