Surprisingly there are a lot of restaurants in Lisbon that are closed for dinner on Sunday nights, and after wandering around trying to find a "less touristy" spot to eat, my boyfriend and I came across Pastelaria A Tentação. There were several tourists here but we were happy to see other tables filled with locals eating and watching the soccer game.
The restaurant serves a variety of Portuguese food as well as several different types of paella. I shared the black rice seafood paella and the traditional bacalhau (salted cod) dish with my boyfriend, both which were recommended on the menu. Strangely enough, I thought the bacalhau was rather bland to begin with, but the more I ate it, the more I liked it! The fish was light and fresh, and it came with a side of steamed potatoes and broccoli. The paella was also delicious, probably not as flavorful as other paellas that I've had before, but still good. Overall a nice, affordable, and simple meal in Praça da Figueira. read more
