Had passed Pastis a few times while visiting Norreport and decided to give it a try. I called ahead to find out they stop serving food/kitchen closes (beverages are availabile) from 3:30-5:30 as a break between lunch and dinner. I arrived around 3 and decided to do the two course meal. I wanted Foie Gras as the second course so the server suggested the Nicoise Salad instead of the Chèvre Salad (next time) which was great advice. This salad was amazing! Perfect combo of Tuna (sashimi), anchovies, haricots verts, olives with a light dressing. The Foie Gras was also very good. The staff was attentive and friendly. Probably the top French restaurant in Copenhagen. I will be back to try some of the main courses.

Hello tartar! A tad salty but quite tasty.

Fantastic French bistro. Is it the best value for money in Cph? Definitely no, but it has its charm and if you're looking for a French bistro, this is a classic (if slightly expensive) one. We came here on a warm day and sat on the patio. The patio in itself is nothing special (it's basically the Aldi parking lot), but it's on Gothersgade which makes for really great people watching. Food is very good. I had the tartar, which came with a side of salad and fries. Both the tartar and fries were quite salty, but oh boy does that make them taste gooooood. Definitely can recommend the tartar. Yum! For dessert I tried the profiteroles and the crème brûlée. Both were excellent! I think the photos really show how nicely their crème brûlée is finished: perfectly caramelized top that's nice and crisp. Profiteroles were even better than the crème brûlée, I thought about them at home the next day they were so good. Not too sweet, and slightly bitter chocolate sauce with the profiteroles. Attentive and quick service. No complaints there.

I remember back when I first arrived in Copenhagen, somehow stumbling open (gravitating toward?) Pastis on a cool spring day. A shared name with no affiliation to Pastis in New York, I couldn't help but be drawn in. And so naturally, on what would eventually become my quest to compile a checklist of all restaurants in CPH that were worth trying, Pastis was the first one I wrote down. Finally got there last night, and I was so thrilled that my expectations did not deceive me. Really great and friendly service, classy and cozy look and feel, mood lighting (great for date nights and girls nights), beautiful menu with a variety of the French food favorites, and a pretty extensive wine selection as well. 2/3 of us ordered the Steak Frites, because it just sort of felt like you couldn't NOT order it in a place like this, and it was delicious. My meat was cooked to order (medium rare), and the frites were amazing. We also shared the Chèvre Chaud salad (which, I must admit, was ordered more for the chévre chaud than it was for the salad) as a starter, and the "Pommes" (apple sorbet, applesauce, and apple crumble) for dessert. Both were fantastic. Overall, this is a great place to know about around town. Especially in the winter, I think I'd gladly camp myself at a corner table just about any time of day or night, and eat my heart out.

Steak Fritte with Awesone Bernaise sauce!

We were walking back to City Hall and came across a nice looking French Bistro to catch a late lunch. We saw the delicious Steak Fritte plate from the people sitting next to us. It was a rib eye that came with small salad, and fries. Every piece of the meal was delicious. The steak was tender and very flavorful. The Béarnaise sauce was exceptional. It was pricey for a casual lunch - about $50+ USD without a drink. We were told Copenhagen is expensive - especially compared to Berlin where we had come from. It was a very enjoyable lunch. After seeing these other reviews and pictures, I wish I could go back and try the other items.

Walking in, the interior is decorated nicely, and the atmosphere is inviting. The outside looks a little shady, but never judge a book by its cover right. The service here was also great. Unfortunately, the price to food quality ratio just didn't do it for me. For 2 dishes and 2 beers, the tab came out to 470 DK (~$75), and this was for lunch. For the food, we got the Tartine de Foie Gras and the Steak Frites. The foie gras was... okay; I'm actually not a fan of it at all so the dish didn't really appeal to me. The steak was actually pretty good, but it cost 255 DK (~$40). While the meat was good, it wasn't anything spectacular, so it didn't warrant such a high price in my opinion. The steak was cooked very well though, and the garlic and tomato that accompanied it paired well. The fries themselves were okay, but the mayonnaise that came with it was amazing. It was creamy and perfect. The beer we got was surprising good (as I'm not a big fan of it). I actually don't know the name because we just asked the waitress for her recommendation, and she served us her recommendation for a light beer. It cost 20 DK per glass. Overall, definitely not a bad place, but for the price, I think there were definitely other places that would have satisfied me for less.

Great find for our one night trip in Copenhagen. I had the rabbit which is the best thing out of the other courses that was ordered. I highly recommend it! It was juicy and melts in your mouth. My sister had the steak and frites which was good but nothing special about it. My boyfriend had the lobster soup and it was also good but it was too heavy to eat it all. I would recommend also ordering the sweetbread as a starter.

This was my favorite dinner that we had in Copenhagen! Incredible service, amazing food, pretty outdoor seating. I wanted everything on the Menu! It was varied and well presented so that everyone could find something that made their mouth water. My dad had the chaud salad and the lamb. My mom had the salmon tartare and halibut (fish special). And my sister and I shared the chaud salad and halibut. While the menu is expensive, the portions are plenty big enough to share. The salmon tartare was good but the chaud salad was the true star. It comes with a huge chunk of grilled goat cheese! And I would eat goat cheese all day if I could. The halibut was a generous portion and crispy with a wonderful hollandaise sauce, potatoes, and white asparagus. My dad's lamb was tender and the gorgonzola sauce on the potatoes was a perfect complement to the sweet lamb. We loved this place and it was the best dinner we had by far! I only wish we had come here earlier so that we could have eaten here twice!

Lemon sole with neurre blanc and capers again great dish.

For a French Bistro I loved this place. Small, quaint, quiet and lit by candlelight inside on each table. A place for couples at night. When you go through the front door, you are greeted by complete blackness, its a curtain that you need to walk through. The service was great, very nice and is there for your every need. I ordered the homard or lobster which is cooked perfectly. My plate du Jour was Lemon sole with a brown butter caper sauce. Piping hot and again perfectly cooked. The place was packed and I can see why. It is on the high side of price but worth it as the food, décor and service hit on all marks. If I was given an amuse bouche it would have been 5 stars, mental note guys, with prices this high I suggest you start this trend. d

Mussels, fries and gin and tonic!

First meal ... Since I arrived Copenhagen this morning. To celebrate a new exciting journey ahead of me, I walked into Pastis for some mussels, fries and a glass of gin and tonic. As I sat and watched people walking down the street, I felt very thankful to have been able to enjoy such delicious meal in such sunny and warm afternoon. Cheers!

I've been following this restaurant for a few years now and I was fascinated to see how they moved from country to country creating a whole new menu based on local products according to the season and the place where they were. I remember watching them in Tulum, Mexico (2017) or in Kyoto, Japan (2023-2024) and I thought everything they were creating was incredible. It was a nomadic restaurant full of innovation, one of a kind, and I was dying to try it! We flew to Copenhagen just for this meal so my expectations were very high. I also went with an open mind to try anything they put in front of me, because that's what it's all about, expanding your tastes and flavors. At least for me. The presentation not only looked spectacular but also tasted incredible. To my surprise, the first course was one of my favorites. I devoured it thinking it was steak but really was the heart of a deer. It was delicious. After that, all the courses that continued to arrive were just as impressive with unique flavor combinations and beautifully presented. We also did the wine pairing which I highly recommend. Top notch wines that paired perfectly with each course they brought. The staff is outstanding. From the moment you arrive you feel well taken care of, they receive your coat and take you to a waiting room where they offer you a tea before taking you to the table. To get to our table we went through the kitchen and the whole team stops doing what they do to greet you and acknowledge you. I thought it was something very special. Definitely one of the best culinary experience I've ever had!

When you're sitting there, paying an obscene amount of money for a tasting menu, it's impossible to ignore what's widely known about how this place has operated for years. The tension in the room is palpable. Service feels rigid and strained rather than warm. It doesn't feel like people who love what they're doing. It feels like people trying not to make a mistake. After going, I looked deeper into the restaurant and its leadership, and it only confirmed what I felt. René Redzepi has openly admitted in interviews that he was abusive and a bully as a leader for much of the restaurant's rise. For years, Noma relied heavily on unpaid or underpaid labor, with brutal hours normalized as part of the "experience." Knowing that completely reframes what you're eating and who paid the real price for it. As for the food, some dishes were interesting, but plenty crossed the line from thoughtful into gimmicky. Once the mythology wears off, a lot of it feels like provocation for its own sake. Innovation loses its shine when it's built on exhaustion and fear behind the scenes. I'm glad I went once, if only to see through the illusion. I won't go again, and I wouldn't recommend it unless you're more interested in checking off a status box than supporting a restaurant that treats people with basic dignity.

Waiters were friendly and recommended their cider (specifically made for Barr) which reminded us of a sour + an orange wine. Spaeztle with chanterelle mushrooms was very savory, a little too rich for my liking but my partner loved it. Overall, we had an enjoyable meal, but nothing truly stood out. The food was good, not great. We ordered the schnitzel, which was perfectly serviceable, but not particularly memorable or elevated in a way that justified the buzz surrounding the restaurant. It felt more like a solid neighborhood meal than a destination dining experience. The service was where the experience fell a bit flat for us. This isn't unique to this restaurant, but we've found much of Scandinavia's dining culture to be less hospitality-driven than what we're accustomed to elsewhere. The staff was polite enough, but there wasn't much warmth, engagement, or effort to create a memorable experience. It felt more transactional--food arrives, you're checked on occasionally, and that's about it. The atmosphere is pleasant, and we certainly didn't leave disappointed. We enjoyed our evening and had a nice meal. That said, given the history of the space and the reputation that comes with it, we left feeling that the experience didn't quite live up to the expectations. Worth a visit if you're curious about the location, but not a place I'd go out of my way to revisit. Four stars.

Throughout the night, the staff were absolutely incredible, ensuring the entire 4+ hour experience went smoothly. Everyone had warm smiles as you walked by, our water never went below half empty, every wine pairing and dish was explained thoroughly and the chefs and staff also entertained all of our questions. They opened up as the night went on and became entertainers as they realized we weren't looking for a stuffy and pretentious experience. One standout was the waiter bringing over wine for us to try in 5 different glasses as we asked about what made each glass special, he gave us an explanation of the different glasses and really demonstrated how wine can taste so different depending on the glass. Very cool! I can't possible describe all the food that we had, but each dish was interesting and creative in its own way. One of my favorites was the oyster with a "snow" made from horseradish. The snow melted in your mouth and the oyster was texturally transformed into a smooth creamy consistency, a much more palatable texture than a standard oyster. The turbot filleted tableside with two forks was impressive, the sauce it was in made from a stock of the turbot itself was divine, soaked up with the never ending brioche bread, it was incredible. The wine pairing was so well done, each wine somehow evoked the same scent as the dish we were eating, and each was so unique in its own way, really unlike any wine I've had before. The caviar with coconut sorbet was a surprising standout that went so well together. The dessert trolley as a whole was a fun experience as they brought out so many different dishes. Nothing was too crazy there, and some were a bit challenging to share. The madeleine was very impressive though, I've never had a homemade fresh one, to have it warm, crisp on the outside, and fluffy and soft on the inside, it was a very nice treat. All in all, the food was amazing, but nothing truly blew me away flavor wise. The experience was absolutely worth it though, and something I can't wait to try again.
