    Oysters are a must!
    Karen Y.

Recent Euro trip to Copenhagen with my friends, Oysters & Grill was recommended to us for a nice seafood meal. It did not disappoint at all! The seafood was fresh and very delicious! We had 2 dozen oysters, sweet & fresh. We had the stone crab, tiger shrimp, lobster, and mussels, and quite possibly another kind of shrimp. Worth the money, not over priced at all. It sells by wt and market rate. The service was great and love the hood! Reminds us of good old Williamsburg, artsy and cool in NY. Take a taxi, much faster and more convenient! Only Tip: make a reservation and have the Hotel peeps help you confirm! We couldn't read the email in Danish and accidentally "canceled" our reservation. However luck was on our side, we had the bar seating, quite cute! Enjoy feasting!

Oh what a delight! A must try if you're in Copenhagen and wanting to try the fruits of the Nordic sea. (There's a dish called 'fruits of the sea'- inside joke, haha I'm so funny). Firstly, a very interesting entry door. Kind of feels like you're about to walk into a public toilet but oh! There's a restaurant in there! For a Sunday night the place was quite busy but we were seated quickly. The tables were very close together so its quite a squeeze. Service was lovely, we were seated and orders taken promptly and the food was quick to come out. In addition to the fruits of the sea we also ordered a side of french fries. Everything was perfect. It was seasoned, cooked, and prepared perfectly. My absolute favorite was the cod ceviche- a must try! Also try the blue mussels and langoustine. It was not a completely filling meal so we ordered an additional 200gm of the blue mussels cooked in olive oil, garlic and parsley. Dessert was a beery cheesecake- good, but stock standard. Overall an amazing meal. I would happily eat this again and again. One thing to beware of- tax is not included in the price of the meal so I had a bit of a shock when an extra 25% was added to our bill. Still doesn't put me off wanting to go back but it would have been nice to know at the start.

Trying desperately to find just about something bad about this place but its just not happening. The waitressess are so sweet and funny and although our reservation was indoors, they managed to get us a table outdoors on their sparse outdoor seating area. We had loads of seafood, seafood platter for two, extra crayfishes, extra blue mussels, oysters, fried soft shelled crabs, scallops, the dorade (fish) and a rare entrecote. The seafood was amazing, and especially the oysters. Without any doubt the best oysters I ever had. They served them with lemon and a vinegarsauce with red leek. Oh so good..I ordered extra!! The meat was, as we ordered, rare and perfectly cooked. The fish plate was also amazing. We had such a pleasant dinner at Oysters and Grill. In the shade of this perfection was the waitresses mixup of our dishes so we had to remind them a few times but this was not enough to lower my rating of Oysters and Grill. I'm looking forward to my next visit here!

One of Copenhagen's two trendy fish-dedicated eateries (the other being Fiskebaren), Oysters & Grill has the popularity of Cofoco behind it, and does not disappoint. We ordered a variety of the daily fish offerings at 100g, both fried and grilled, and were satisfied with all of it, though the fried scallops were probably a little TOO deep fried for my taste (was really heavy and greasy - maybe would be better with a lighter beer batter or something). Would KILL for some crab cakes on this menu - maybe some day... Interestingly, the entrecôte, which is FAR from seafood, is the most raved about item on the menu (in fairness, it was delicious). The ambiance overall is really cozy - great place for a date, girls night, etc - lots of depth in the interior and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Thumbs up for sure.

I'm kind of on the fence with how I feel about this place. It's trendy and cool and I like the vibe of the restaurant with their stacked-wood walls and mismatched tablecloths. The service was efficient and nice. The food was good, but the Havets Frugter selection was a bit too heavy on the mussels. I love mussels, but if you're going to market a seafood platter, it needs to be more equitably distributed. The small dish of root veggies that came on the side was delicious. We also had a pitcher of sangria to share. Perfectly decent, and ok price. But probably one of the smallest pitchers I've ever seen. I would be interested to try their other menu items. Just wasn't too impressed with the havets frugter selection.

    The restroom is quit okay

I just love eating here - seafood and steak. What is not to like? It is a small place with good waiters, and the kitchen does know its stuff. Starters are seafood. Mostly different kinds of mussels. You can also get oysters ;-) Mains are steaks or fish with fries. They have small but good selection of wine.

Really good place for dinner! we got the sea of fruits, with shrimps, oysters, veggie, soft shell crab and they're good to share. Scallop and the steak was okay (you can pass on those), fries are fine.

Fruit of the Sea tasting for two

Absolutely loved it. My girlfriend and I were looking for some great cuisine without blowing out our wallets. Copenhagen is notoriously expensive for US tourists as the dollar does not get much. We ordered the Fruit of the Sea tasting for two which featured various kinds of seafood from fried soft crab, to wild prawn, and many more items. Being from the Boston area we came into the restaurant with high seafood standards and walked out happy and satisfied. This place is a must stop for people trying to stay out of the $$$ or higher range but who want some delicious seafood.

Pretty genuine Scandinavian seafood, but 100g is a petty amount! Quantity is small for the price tag for all dishes, in general.

The restaurant's design is definitely minimalist with simple blank walls and a comfortable mix of fake and real plants. There was no air conditioning but they found a fan to keep us comfortable- we were amazed that more folks in the full restaurant weren't sweating the way we were. Perhaps the locals are more used to the summer heat with no AC than we were. We had the 3-course prefixe meal with my my wife and daughter on the standard menu while I was on the vegetarian track. The website says that Host is the Danish word for harvest, and that their focus is "on the Scandinavian kitchen with lots of surprises." The staff used the word "surprises" explicitly, using it to describe the amuse-bouches and palette-cleansing bites served between the advertised courses. We started with a flight of croquettes with cheese and I think my wife and daughter had something like a smoked fish hash of some sort while by I had a delightful bite of salad on a molded sweet cookie tart shell. The baby bread loaves with a special butter were lovely - how do you innovate butter? Great job. My first veggie entree was fried carrots with horseradish, which was grand. Next I had a barley risotto with amazing brown beech mushrooms on top. Awesome. There was a spot of potato soup in there somewhere and the best bite of the meal was another of the surprises - a pre-dessert mochi-like shell with strawberry powder on the outside and hazelnut ice cream (I think???) on the inside. The strawberry rhubarb dessert was excellent also. Such a great meal. Loved it.

Like truly, same app, mains, etc. Service was unfortunately just bad - we were served the wrong dish and then charged for the more expensive dish that we weren't even served, took us forever to order another drink or get anyone's attention. I don't blame the staff, they were definitely working across a lot, but after visiting two of this restaurant group's establishment, I could tell the owners of this restaurant systemically overwork their staff. I'd suggest if you are a true gastronomie fan, try to find a restaurant outside of this group! Not a bad restaurant, just feels a little fake if ya know what I mean.

I came here because I was craving sashimi, so I was a little disappointed at the selection. There is actually only one glass display for fresh fish and the other is for smoked or otherwise prepared seafood like pickled herring. Not much variety compared to the ones Torvehallerne, but I did appreciate the method of catch noted on each item and the fact that it seemed to be only species in season like mussels, mackerel, and cod. No eel, which is good. Since to'sk seems to keep sustainability and seasons in mind, I am actually glad that they have a smaller selection. There was some sushi-grade salmon in the freezer so I chose one that seemed a suitable size. The scallops also looked great but the fishmonger warned that I should freeze them for at least 24 hours if I wanted to eat them raw. Good advice. I also picked up one fresh mackerel, which was gutted and cleaned for me swiftly. Everything was packed nicely and I feel I got a fair price for it. I ended up marinating the mackerel for shime saba and it turned out very well. However, I was a little surprised when I unwrapped the salmon; it still had the skin on. If it was intended for sushi, I feel like the skin should already have been removed. It was no problem for me to do so myself, but I would rather pay for more flesh than skin. Other than that, the seafood was great. Looking forward to my next visit.

I'm not about to tell you that Retour Steak serves up the best beef dishes in the world because in my opinion, they don't. One would have travel to Japan for the best steak (Sorry Nebraska). But I will tell you this, FOR THE PRICE nothing comes close to this place. We made it a point to check this place out and after a previous attempt the night before decided to come by earlier. We arrived around 5:45 and already the dining room was crazy busy. The hostess did however find one available table, but that they would need the table later for an 8:00 reservation. If you're taking notes. Make a reservation! Since we had well over two hours, we knew we could take our time and have a cocktail to start. Handwritten on the special drinks for the evening "sidecar". Hello?! Music to my ears. My friend and I each ordered up a sidecar and a charcuterie platter to start. The sidecars were perfect, and even though I usually have mine made with whisky I went with the flow and let them make mine with cognac. It was delicious. The charcuterie was a small serving but perfect to share. Each of the meats were amazing. I wish I knew what the darker meat was, because that one was truly out of this world kick ass delicious. Steak time! And there are plenty of choices. But really this would be a no brainer as I am a fan of this little thing called the French fry. And the ribeye comes with those crispy potato things. Ribeye "medium rare" please. I'll get right to the point. The steak was cooked to perfection. It came topped with a little rosemary and roasted garlic. The garlic was the winner and enhanced the steak even more. I even saved a few to eat along with my fries. By the way, these fries were about as good as I have had in a long ASS time. Almost as good as I had in Belgium (which by the way is the Hall of Fame of fries). I did save room for dessert and again, this was an easy choice. The profiteroles were shouting out my name. Again, they scored a perfect 10. We each had a glass of dessert wine, a moscato and a tawny port which both were amazing. I can't stress how much I loved this place. And again, the fact that this place is reasonably priced makes it that much better. It's not cheap mind you, but for a steakhouse it's about as inexpensive you will find. The service was impeccable and constantly had servers checking in on us. They were also very helpful when it came to our wine selections. Just FYI, if you are standing on Østergade street and can't find the place, it's actually located on Ny Østergade 21 which is a side street off the main street (running perpendicular).

On the verge of giving up, we were directed to Retour and wow, what a find! We had to convince the chef to take us at 11:01pm and after some pleading, he offered us 2 steaks: Take it or leave it. We were only too happy to take it. And what a revelation of meaty goodness. After settling in to a table and grooving with the wonderful jazz music that created a hip vibe we were treated to some yummy home cooked bread & a perfectly dressed green salad. What came out of the Kitchen next were 2 thick, juicy, perfectly cooked slabs of Uruguayan Ribeye heaven that positively exploded in your mouth with flavor! The thick cut french fries were cooked to crispy perfection and the Bernaise sauce accompanying the meat was delicious, but unnecessary.
