I love this place! We used to live right down the street, so I went there far too often, but now I miss it! We now live out of state but have family in Liverpool, so when we're visiting them we always make the drive out to Jamesville just for Pastry Palace! The owner is super friendly and wants you to be happy! He always tells you what's freshest and encourages you to taste new things. I don't know what he calls them, but our favorites are these little pastries that come in cinnamon, raspberry, apricot, and chocolate...warm them up a bit and they are to die for!! we always pass this place en route to the dogpark but decided to pop in today. the owner (?) treated us to rugelach and chocolate treats which had us swooning. we left with an apple tart, half moon cookie, jelly cookies, and nearly a dozen rugelach. the place looks totally run down, but the treats are fresh and tasty. the man behind the counter (presumed owner) told us that the shop is known for his whipped cream cake. might have to try it sometime... will totally be back for more sweets! read more

I have been patronizing this man for over 10 years from when he used to be at snowflake bakery. His ruggelch and homemade pastries are the best I have ever eaten. I live in Manhattan and I still can't find any bakery that comes close to his sweet treats. This is my first stop when I come back to visit Syracuse. I bring back 1-2 lbs. What a hidden gem this bakery is! We bought the best half moon cookies we have ever eaten here! Yummy and moist with a delicious buttercream frosting. They also have wonderful Italian cookies sold by the pound. This bakery is hidden in a little plaza behind the M&T Bank in Jamesville NY. We will return...often. We rate it A+. I have been a long-time customer of Fran's. My family loves coconut macaroons and I used to make them, but I don't any longer because he has the best ones I've ever had. I just buy them there and if you call ahead, he will prepare them either plain, dipped in chocolate, or half dipped. We also love his Greek pastries and his rugalah. If you're interested in a whipped cream cake, this is the place to go. He worked at snowflake bakery for many years, for those who remember it. I tried this place based on a recommendation, and it delivered! Last night I tried the famous rugelach fresh out of the oven, to die for! But after buying so many yummy things he has me try his baklava. Now, I've had baklava in the past and it's not something I would purchase again. But not to be rude I tried it, and it was the best pastry I've had to date! I never realized that baklava could possibly be that delicious. The family devoured them all up, and yes now that I have no more I'm craving it so bad and can't wait to return for more! read more
