One of the worst bottoms ever on a pie

Next day reheated tomato pie was way worse than I could have imagined. It actually became very difficult to eat; the sauce made the "crust" soft & more like white bread than pizza crust. It was awful. But, the half moons were good.

Went to the grand opening of Holland Farms in Manlius. And we were so glad we stopped by. The line was out the door. They have a bakery, coffee bar and deli counter. You can get coffee drinks, sandwiches, salads, cakes, half moons, donuts and more. We ordered a blueberry donut, and half moons. Other people were ordering drinks, baked goods, and lunch specials. They have daily specials at the deli counter; today is Friday and the special was Mac and cheese. This place is conveniently located in the village of Manlius and has plenty of parking. I can't wait to come back here to try more of their baked goods. The half moons were delicious and fresh. They opened 2 days ago and they're only using their kitchen in Utica to bake products. So they had sold out of a lot of items when we arrived. It was still amazing and very fresh. We'll definitely be back!

Best half moons I've ever had. The couple times I've been there the service has been very fast so don't be intimidated by the number of patrons in the shop or how full the parking lot is, most are milling about deciding what to order. Next time I'll have to try something from the deli

Great pastries, the wraps and subs are also great, and I tried the Mac salad and chilli they were also both good. Staff is polite and tentative. It's been both busy and crowded and slow and steady. Good atmosphere, simple store. We've been several times and will return.

Good size portion of Mac and cheese

In the area and had to check this new place out. Had lunch and ordered Mac and cheese and slice of tomato pie. I was disappointed that they didn't have seating so had to eat in the car. It is a very busy place on Friday afternoon but was waited in pretty fast. The place is split into the bakery on the right side and the deli on the left. The Mac and cheese was creamy and had a nice blend of cheeses. The tomato pie wasn't as good as I've had in some of the Utica bakeries but it was ok. The bakery had many tempting deserts. I didn't get one but my sister got the half moon. They are huge. I had a taste of my sisters and it was very good!

So glad they've opened a location closer to home. They have arguable the best half moon cookies. Went today, was in and out in 5 minutes with a dozen cookies and a coffee very fast and efficient. Super friendly staff and it seems like they've got it down already. Can't wait to go back and get some tomato pie!

I came in just to buy a donut and the cashier was incredibly helpful and kind. I think her name was Charlotte, 10/10 service.

I found the baked goods to be on the dry side. It was a cute place though. I had higher hopes for the half moon. Prices were fair.

Good baked goods. However, they really need to list prices. I tend to have sticker shock when I'm told the total. A bit pricey.

They have a rotating menu that they list on their website (www.saltcitybread.com). By the time I got there mid-afternoon, they were sold out of their seeded (sesame, pumpkin, and sunflower seeds) sourdough. Plain sourdough loaves are $10 and the sourdough with inclusions are market price and range from $12-14 it seems. I got their chocolate chip cookie (with flaky salt from Syracuse Salt company) for $3.25, and it was delicious!! Thick cookie with crisp edges and a soft, fluffy center. Huge chocolate chips too! The flaky salt brings a nice balance as well. Will definitely be back!

This little bakery is very cute and offers a selection of different breads as well as sweets. The service is excellent and welcoming. These people know how to do bread WELL. I have tried their italian bread, focaccia, and their braided sesame bread-- which are all phenomenal! They have some sandwiches on their menu as well as some coffee available. On this occasion we ordered: - Braided sesame bread: this is my absolute favorite bread here. The presentation is beautiful, and the bread reminds me of a more savory challah with some salted olive oil hints that remind me of focaccia. The softness of the bread and the density make it so satisfying. It is perfect with both sweet and savory pairings. Super addictive--a loaf usually does not last longer than a day in our household. - Turkey sandwiches: we got a whole sandwich split into two halves. Size is pretty generous and one half is definitely enough for one person. This sandwich, although simple, stands out for its high quality ingredients. It came with generous sliced turkey that was not too salty, delicious gouda cheese, high quality mayo, fresh tomatoes and lettuce. The white bread is made in-house and feels super fresh and fluffy. They were super nice and gave us two bags of chips to compliment our dinner even though we technically ordered only one sandwich. We got it split into two separate containers and my fiancé and I each got our own pickle! Perfect option to get to-go. - Peanut butter cookie: I initially wanted to try the chocolate chip but they sadly ran out. However this was actually an amazing cookie. The thickness was perfect, not too thick and not too thin. It had nice bits of peanut butter and the cookie itself was super buttery, soft but with a nice caramelized crust, and not too sweet. There was a surprise Reeses PB cup in there which was very pleasant. Very good cookie! Cannot wait to come back and try their chocolate chip one. Overall, this bakery is a 10/10 and a very great asset to the area. Even though their selection is limited, I think they really focus on doing the few things they do VERY well. I love how local and homey this business feels. Their baked goods are all amazing and I will continue supporting them whenever I am in Manlius. Highly recommend Salt City Bread! You will not regret it.

We collectively tried the olive ciabatta, three kinds of croissants, a flatbread, an epi bread, and maybe a couple of other things I am forgetting. Everything was delicious and very reasonably priced. I love the vibe of the place, I love the logo they stamp on their bags, I love that they threw in an extra pastry because we bought so much on that last day, and I love the location just across from the river. (First-time visitors should note that you enter the bakery from the back of the building that faces Water St.) Perhaps the strongest endorsement came from my partner's 14-year-old son, who gave the almond croissant a 10/10. When I asked him to rate the almond croissant that he loves from a bakery local to us, he gave it an 8.5/10. Follow-up questioning revealed that the chocolate croissants from the two bakeries merited a 9.5 and 8, respectively. Oh, and if you call earlier in the day they will hold things for you if you won't be able to make it in until later in the day.

Both were great and would happily eat either again! The chooclate croissant had a soft chocolate filling as opposed to a harder chocolate. I liked the bostock better but both were yummy. A small hole in the wall by a river. We ate our pastries on a swing across the river. Everyone in the area is super friendly. Good vibes and good pastries.
