We hired Patchwork a few months ago to repair a large area of stucco that was damaged by a landscaping contractor we used in the past. Aston carved out some time on his weekend to come check out the job and provide a quote. He was super upfront about what he could do and gave us recommendations even if we didn't move forward with him. He answered ALL of our questions and made us feel very at ease (especially after working with a contractor that was the complete opposite). Aston emailed me a very detailed and reasonable quote that evening and we hired him that next day. He is seriously one of the best contractors I've worked with (I work with contractors for a living so I've seen the full spectrum of good, bad, and ugly). He is super friendly and VERY communicative. I would rather have someone that over-communicates than under, because it removes assumptions from both sides. The work he does looks really great. I have a lot of experience building and remodeling homes. My wife and I just purchased a new home and it has solid plaster walls. We had to move electrical, plumbing and create an arch for our new kitchen. After all was moved and time to patch things up I was not sure how to repair the plaster as I have never worked with it before. Do you use 5/8" drywall and drywall mud? Aston was hired to do stucco repair of the exterior of the back garage wall. He supplied the labor and materials. He hand scraped all the loose existing and peeling moisture damaged stucco then wash the wall down to remove any residual dust, etc. Applied a coat of Weldcrete and blue cement and stucco adhesive to the wall and applied cement skim brown coat too wall as base for new stucco finish. Finished with La Habra Base 200 Stucco closely matching walls existing texture close as possible. Protected work area and cleaned up thoroughly. Properly repatching the holes in a timely manner, and ensuring waterproofing was done properly was a priority in selecting a contractor for this work.
