He handed my husband a card right away and introduced himself. Believe me this is a rarity now days. After receiving all the bids we decided to use Sumner Construction. Andy returned to start the measurements, taking pictures and notes as to what we were looking for in a repair/redo project. Within 2 days we had a good estimate to complete the work exactly the way we envisioned it. Andy and Adam started work the following Monday. These two work so well together & everyday we were happier we chosen this company. I really can't say enough of these two young men except they really take pride in their work, from flooring, painting, rebuilding cupboards well you name it they can do it to your liking. We first asked for an estimate in February. They sent out an estimator who was friendly and…read moreeverything seemed fine. Then a month passed with no word. I sent an email to ask for an update. They explained they were short-staffed and that the estimator had gotten sick. Two weeks passed. The estimator finally called and wanted to come out again because he couldn't remember which house we were. After jogging his memory, he said that the estimate would be forthcoming. Another two weeks passed with nothing. I then called the office and was told they were still pending on bids for materials from subcontractors. Another two weeks passed. Today I just got from a different person at Voss saying that they were still waiting on those bids for materials. If just the estimate takes this long, with such poor communication, I can't imagine how they would be once the actual job started.

Their sole job was going to be taking out walls and replacing them. I was told 1. they don't put up 4x8 sheets of beadboard (basically panelling), 2. my only choice is drywall, and 3. they don't do that either and will be subcontracting it out. The closets look fantastic and all I have to do is paint. He also was able to repair a closet expansion that a previous handy man had done and made it look seamless.
